Quick question for Kilmarnock and Hearts fans. What do you think about the fact that your clubs (I believe) are the only ones almost definitely backing 'The Rangers' to play in the SPL next season? I know Aberdeen, Dundee Utd and Celtic fans have been vocal in demanding a newco not be admitted. Is it no the same with Killie and the Jambos?

St. Mirren were relegated in 99/00 when you lot were cheating.
As I've said in this thread earlier, its incredible how fans of all cheating clubs sound just like Rangers fans as they attempt to justify what their club did.
What is your definition of cheating? Spending more than you bring in. By your rationale, Dunfermline cheated their way to the First Division title last season as they would have went under if Yorkston walked away.
Half the teams in the SPL have overspent and taken on debt. Are they all cheats? Are Man Utd cheats?
By the way, that season your mob were relegated - it was actually 00/01 - I was at Love Street three times and you humped us every time. We might have spunked a lot of cash but our best finish - 5th - came the year before we started spending the bank's cash. There was an improvement in performances but not results.

The 'New Firm' was a bit of a myth as it was generally Celtic and Aberdeen which shared the top two spots. United won a couple of league Cups and some great runs in Europe but apart from their title in 1983, they never really came close again prior to or after 1983.
Also, I dont think there was a co-efficent around then.
You make a good point. At the risk of sounding like a bitter Dundee fan, I think United's title success in 83 owed a little to Aberdeen stretching themselves in Europe. Jim McLean was an outstanding coach though and I wish we gave him the job at Dens he desperately wanted in the 70s.
The New Firm wasn't a myth because I don't think the idea of the New Firm was that they totally dominated Scottish football. It was that they challenged. As much as I hated being second best in the city part of me does miss being a kid when Rangers and Celtic were regularly beaten. The season before Murray arrived and brought Souness in and started dumping all the shit that is now hitting the fan, Dundee went to the last day with Rangers in the battle for a European spot. That's quarter of a century ago and a lot of medals, trophies and European trips that went to the wrong team. That's why this "treat them gently" shite really fucks me off.

Your cheating club are just as bad as Rangers.
Aye right. Look at all the silverware we won on the back of our cheating. You are clearly on the wind up saying we're as bad as Rangers. We were badly mismanaged and then given the most severe penalty that had ever been dished out for going into admin by the SFL. 25 points plus a transfer ban was as good as relegation. If there was talk of us starting up a newco we would have been kicked to the Third Division at best.

How do fans of SPL clubs feel about their clubs putting income ahead of "doing the right thing" i.e. kicking Rangers out the league?
I have been disgusted to hear the noises coming out of Kilmarnock and Dundee United. It makes me think these chairmen should not be in a position to make the call on Rangers' punishment as they made it clear they are going to do what is in their own interests. It is like having a judge being asked whether to send his son to jail for a heinous crime. "I ken he deserves to go down but the wife will no be too happy".

Harris is a quality player. Be a shame if Queens lost him as I wouldnt want to see the Donnhammers get relegated. I would have thought if he is only 23 there should be a decent fee there should he leave.

What did Chisholm spend millions on?
IMO Dundee stayed up largely because of Chisholm's excellent signings e.g. Weston and Lockwood. I thought he'd done similar at Queens but on a tight budget.

Why don't you take Chisholm back? I know it was an ugly departure but he did take you to the cup final and created a team that was for a few months virtually unbeatable. When Dundee went to Palmerston in the Scottish QF we were like lambs to the slaughter. We were understrength and didn't have a hope in hell.
