  1. It does stink but just go up there and win the game now, try keep your composure and not let events turn it into a farce, the motivatuon is there. Just hope you dont get the same ref we got up there otherwise he ll do his best to get another north team through, his words not ours.

  2. League cup section he scored against petershill and st rochs.

Scored against pollok in west gave there defenders a torrid time.

Friendlys can be bit flat but that aside scored goals against rossvale, irvine meadow, kilwinning rangers, fauldhouse, blantyre vics. All teams outwith our league and higher quality of players to what you all perceive in our league.

To get 33 goals already this season albeit some friendlys is really impressive and I believe he could do it at a higher level, still has loads to learn and he appreciates this too, under maxi and the lads hes only going to get better.

  3. The boy is a class act and goal machine. He has a level head on his shoulders and came from Saturday morning churches league and people even questioned could he cut it at Ashfield, gets better with every passing week and looks like he’s enjoying his football, stick on he will go senior with rate hes progressing at.

Keep up the good work callum, everyone at Ashfield loves you

  4.

I know Ewan has put this on the Ashfield Fc thread but sometimes dont think people would give it the time of day but its a magnificent piece of work done by the club.

The work being done with the community is amazing and giving so many kids the platform to play football. The work done by all the coaches has been unbelievable and they deserve this recognition I believe. The gaffer paul maxwell has also been superb taking a hands on approach with the academy and getting really invested in it and on top of the junior team commitments and own full time work commitments hats off to him.

However with all academy and junior teams funding and sponsorship can be hard to come by so we are hoping with this piece people and even companies can see the work being carried out by the club and can hopefully buy into what we are trying to achieve at Ashfield FC.

If anyone is interested in this please do not hesitate to contact the club

Really appreciate any time taking to watch our video

    Thanks

  5. Andy done an unbelievable job as a player years back when the club was getting at most 20 ppl through the door to where they are at today is down to loads of people but especially him, the job he has done has been first class and knowing him as a person he is a brilliant individual and personality. Think him staying on in another capacity is huge because he is cangy at the heart. Well done andy in all you achieved and was a privilege amd pleasure to play under you and get to know you. You’ve done at the club what many could only dream of mate and good luck in your new role

  6. The praise is also because i know the work being done at st rochs as i was an ex player and still hve friends there and dont believe stating it will be a tough game is something surprising as sure it will be. But our boys have been great pre season and put in amazing work and hope tonight is a good game and we can get a good result. Spent few years at st rochs so will always be my second team behind Ashfield so as stated tonight should be a great night flr both clubs lets hope its a great game for the neutrals as sure it will be very competitive

  7. I have already been through this, its an old username and have just kept it, was from 8/9 years ago when i was affiliated with st rochs but now involved with Ashfield. Dont understand the big deal with a user name surely the most important thing is the content of what i post.

  8. Looking forward to tonights game, st rochs are a great club and im sure the hospitality will be first class as usual, be great to get a catch up with some old friends and lets hope our boys can take there positive hard work during pre season into what will be a very tough match.

Great night for football and good luck to all teams kicking off there season this weekend.

    Mon the field

  9. I took in Arthurlie v Pollok last night (2-2), and I thought Arthurlie looked a much-improved team from last season on that showing. I know it's hard to tell from a pre-season friendly, but I had expected Pollok to win comfortably. McLeay had some cracking saves for Arthurlie, to be fair, otherwise Pollok would have won the game, but a goalie is as much a part of the team as the outfield players.
Good luck to Ryan McGregor who looks as if he'll be out for quite some time with what looked like a really bad knee injury. Looks like his studs got caught in the turf as he turned or something like that.

Heard this about ryan mcgregor too glensmad and know him personally, hes a top top lad and he will come back stronger than before, he is as fit as they come, also the management at Ashfield fc send there best wishes to him
  10. Thanks black pennel, yes the username was made about 6/7 years when i was connected to st rochs, however i am now involved with Ashfield, that is the only reason the name remains the same. Dont post to often only when feel it is relevant and always try go maintain dignity, was just to update on our new signings. Also an apoligee to baz hepburn as he is brian not barrie.

All the best for the season gents

  11. Ashfield delighted that paul mcquilken (Diego)has signed on for another year, before tonights game we also signed stephen mcgladrigan (mcglad) after his spell at rossvale fc. Mcglad is a experienced, proven junior striker and the club are delighted he has chosen Ashfield in which is a real coup for the club and both add great experience to the squad along with the youth signed in

    Callum graham
    Barry hepburn
    Jack crumlish

    Welcome to the field lads

  12. Superb maxi! A great man and legend of the club and this is just the start of a very successful career as a manager, massive improvements both on and off the park for our club and only going to go from strength to strength with you at the helm. You will succeed with your drive and determination but most importantly you are an example to everyone at the club of how to conduct yourself both within and outwith our great club.

  13. We felt horrible last week after lanark voc game, now voc feel bad, unfortunately its the ups and downs of football, would just like to congratulate carluke on there promotion from all at ashfield and emphasise the season was 28 games long and they accumulated more points albeit bit of fortune there but all teams prob had there fair share over the season, our rebuild is on look forward to the new season. One thing can say was an entertaining league with excitement right up until the last game of season

  14. Well most say congrats to vale great result n well deserved result gutter tho as team so consistent struggled at end bit tbh deserved that luxury! We missed out this year but best of luck to voc n carluke! Voc have put a great run together n carluke have been there since day one! All the best to whoever comes out on top bit we will b back n i already know maxis putting the peices together x

  15. Congrats to all at lanark great achievement and well deserved, league table never lies. Showed unbelievable consistency and that battling never say die attitude when werent quite at your best.

Congrats from all at ashfield hope you enjoy the party

  16. Well done today to vale of clyde, defended superbly n looked a threat going the other way. Just didnt go our way today lacked that killer touch and even bit of luck infront of goal. No complaints though well done voc. still outside chance but looking extremely unlikely now for promotion.

However would just like to say overall has been a very positive season for the club with great work being done on and off the park. Maxi has came in and changed the whole mentality of the club as we had struggled over the years. We have one if not the youngest backroom staff in junior football and they will come back stronger and better. Thanks to everyone for there efforts both on the park and off it its been an eventful season and what will be will be and whoever wins the league and gets promoted will fully deserve it. I believe with the maxi, cairley and millsy in place we have individuals who will succeed and be top top managers and coaches.

The players are a great bunch of individuals and the committee members have been superb. Enjoy your break men because wont be long till we are back at it.
