Stirling Albion v East Fife
dave_binos replied to BB_Bino's topic in Scottish League 2 General Chatter
Well done to East Fife first of all. After your first it was absolute domination. You also had a good support through. Can easily see you guys making top 4. A couple of decent loans and potential champions. Felt like we started well. Some nice bits of play but didn't really test the goalkeeper. Nathan Austin is an absolute class act at this level. You just knew he'd score the free kick. A change in formation didn't work. The team put in a shit performance but it's clear some players are out their depth. As others have touched on, there is absolutely zero coming from the wings. We have two young full backs who are learning the game. Actually think Weir has potential and does show flashes of getting forward (and has done in previous games) but Carrick is getting very little service. Hoping Harkness can make a difference. Heard nothing about him since he signed on loan - is he injured or another Sam Bird? The likes of Wright and Roy have offered little so far. I really hope Davidson, Milne and Hilson can make a full return soon. Milne and Hilson weren't great at League 1 level but hoping they do better this season. Any call for Maybury to leave is just ridiculous. After the absolute shitshow during the summer in appointing a manager in the first place and having to build a new squad/backroom team, I think he's done a good job. Games like yesterday will happen but it's clear there isn't as big a budget this time round. He will likely want 4-5 players in who would make a difference but it just isn't going to happen. I've also noticed the 'family end' is no longer in existence. Having 10-12 ultras or whatever they call themselves show up and bang 2 drums repeatedly for 90 minutes without watching the football just seems to drive supporters to other parts of the stand/away all together. I actually don't mind drums if there was any rhythm. But there isn't. -
Bonnyrigg Rose vs Clyde

Bizarrely we wouldn't have scored our 2nd last week if Ray was the manager. Clyde would have had 9 men back. -
Clyde vs Stirling

Maybury is doing a brilliant job. Got his tactics absolutely spot on. Something barely mentioned is we have a bit of an injury crisis with Hilson, Davidson, Milne, Denham and Ewan out injured. And still have Harkness to make his debut. The bench was basically made up of youngsters on Saturday. A brilliant 3 points. A couple of comments on this thread have included us being a poor outfit and nobody in our line-up getting in the Clyde team. Wouldn't swap the likes of Gaston and Carrick for anyone in this division. -
Correct.

Stirling Albion v Elgin City

Agree to some extent but we really need the injured players back. Last weekend we had four 18 year olds on the bench - I’m guessing the ages of Weir and Reilly. The midfield is fairly youthful but quite an experienced defence and attack. -
Might join the p&b one. I enjoyed not having Haaland last season. A good challenge. I did fantasy with a boy I know last season for £200. We couldn’t select the same players. He had Haaland and Salah. He absolutely dominated with those 2 players for the first half of the season/until February time. All he did was alternate between those 2 players as captain. He had a 170 point lead. I was so close to chucking it - I was in a right strop when Haaland banged in a hat-trick at times and he selected him as captain. I clawed it back through my midfield of Palmer, Foden, Saka and KDB coming back from injury and won. He went in a major huff during my comeback and afterwards, sent the £200 with a rather unpleasant bank reference but wouldn’t expect anything less from the wee sack. Glorious. Didn’t even get a congratulations

League Two Season 2024/25 Predictions
dave_binos replied to the_bully_wee's topic in Scottish League 2 General Chatter
Be amusing to read this at end of season. 1. Clyde. More money than anyone else. Good squad. 2. Spartans. Think they’ll have another solid campaign. 3. Peterhead. Same as Spartans. 4. East Fife. The Campbell brothers know how to get a tune out a squad. Good contacts in the game to strengthen. 5. Stirling. Would have had us 8th a couple weeks ago but signed a couple more players this week. If we get another loan or 2 in and get injured players back, we might do ok. Very hard to tell. 6. Elgin. Could threaten top 4 but expect a mid-table finish. 7. Forfar. Ray will set the record for draws this season. They’ll finish comfortably mid-table. 8. Stranraer. Signed a couple of decent players. Will have a better campaign this time out. 9. Edinburgh. I think Mcindoe is a decent enough manager and will get results. Was impressed with his Edinburgh team last season. 10. Bonnyrigg. Think they’ll struggle. -
Cheers just scrolled back. Certainly seems like a solid signing for our defence. Experienced as well which we needed.
