  1. I did mention the last 3 years financial figures and I totally agree with your post above though
  2. I think Aberdeen would have done this regardless of the ST sales - Hibs and Hearts are rasing over £500,000 a season doing this and I think Aberdeen is just copy them to keep financially ahead of them. I would disagree with the gross mismanagement going with the last 3 years financial figures - think we are a well run club now although that could be shattered with the next financial figures.
  3. It is not a new idea to Scotland as Hearts and Hibs are already have this in place. Hearts have 8,000 odd that contribute to the club (because they was in trouble) and Hibs have 1700 according to AberDNA fact sheet: https://d2cx26qpfwuhvu.cloudfront.net/aberdeen/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/29160829/29.3.18AberDNA-Final-FAQ.pdf I've paid for the Premium but I'm not impressed that the club has went to certain people to pick membership numbers before this was released. It doesn't matter if you are like me that doesn't miss a game or only go to 1 game a season - we are all Aberdeen fans at the end of the day.
  4. Yaaaaaaaassss its AberDNA launch day - let the moaning begin
  5. I think it is replacing Black and Gold membership from last season so think it is pitching at folk like me. I am hearing that certain supporters club/fans are getting to pick their membership numbers of this AberDNA - i do think this is wrong For those that are not season tickets I wonder if it is replacing the Stand Free membership which was a decent deal this season if so it is £10 to £144 : https://www.afc.co.uk/tickets/stand-free-membership/
  6. If this info is correct which someone posted in twitter/afc-chat I'm a season ticket, black and gold and RedTV subscriber and if correct then I will be paying about £80 more than last season. Can't see much interest having to pay £144 or £216 on top of season ticket.
  7. The Big Freeze https://www.afc.co.uk/2018/03/21/dons-announce-season-ticket-price-freeze/ Aberdeen Football Club have announced a freeze on the price of season tickets at Pittodrie for the 2018/19 season. A record number of Dons supporters signed-up for a season ticket for the current campaign and it is hoped that number will grow next season on the back of the price freeze. Season tickets for the 2018/19 season will be available for sale from early April and supporters will have the opportunity to take advantage of the price freeze in the early bird window which will run until the beginning of June. Season tickets for U12s will once again be available from just £3 per match and the newly created Youth (18-21) category will remain in place as the club aims to bridge the gap for supporters when it comes to attaining an Adult season ticket. Speaking about the move to keep ticket prices the same for next season, AFC’s newly appointed Commercial Director, Rob Wicks, said: “In the past few seasons the prices and categories have been tweaked to bring the club in line with our competitors and this season there was a great response with over 11,000 supporters signing up. A price freeze should allow us to retain as many of those supporters as possible while growing the season ticket base ahead of the move to the new stadium. “We want to remove barriers for people when it comes to attending football matches at Pittodrie and cost certainly plays a part in that for many. In addition to the price freeze, supporters will also have the opportunity to spread the cost over several months to soften the initial outlay that has traditionally been associated with season tickets.” Next week the club will announce details of an innovative new Membership initiative that has been designed to enable supporters around the world to engage with the football club. Supporters who sign-up to the new Membership initiative will receive a host of fantastic benefits including a discount on their season ticket for the 2018/19 season, as well as the opportunity to help shape the future of the club. “These are exciting times at AFC and the support Derek and the team receive from fans is tremendous. After discussions with key groups such as Dons Supporters Together and gathering the feedback from a recent survey, we think we now have a Membership proposition which will be truly compelling for supporters all around the world. “AFC has the ambition to become a UEFA Top 100 Club and to do that we need to increase revenue, be innovative and engage effectively with our supporters and I think that the upcoming launch of the AberDNA Membership is just the start of that process,” said Rob. Details regarding season tickets for the 2018/19 season and the brand-new Membership initiative will be announced via afc.co.uk and the AFC social media channels.
  8. Phone the ticket office I'm sure they will be happy to help you. I'm sure last time there was pay at the gate for both cup and league game. Here is the Fred -
  9. Here is a positive: some celtic fans in the home end (south stand), celebrated the goal and got kicked to f**k
  10. I wouldn't go that far - they created some amazing flags but they also upset a lot of other supporters club. Killie/Inverness CT away game with their flags blocking the view of the game upset a lot of people. Celtic had the worst atmosphere at Parkhead against us as they only cheered once they scored from late 90s to about 2010ish, but then the green brigade got organised and took over a section of Parkhead. I don't go with this Aberdeen is a reserved bunch all it takes is a group similar to form
  11. I missed the email and too late to book. The horrific atmosphere has always been like that but any chances of creating an atmosphere was hurt by the board. The red ultras in the early 2000's was a group that could have helped here but with the smoke bombs going off in the Shed at Dundee United then they was banned as a supporters club after 10 years. After that the same group try to organised a singing section and although the numbers was poor it was never going to take off once they put them in a corner of the Merkland end. The ironic thing is other clubs in Scotland copied the Red Ultras ideas. I hope the new stadium will have safe standing then people that can create an atmosphere in that area like what Celtic have done.
  12. Can you block threads as well I feel like its like the film groundhog day but its about Aberdeen new stadium
  13. TRANSFER WINDOW In Niall McGinn (Free) Michael Devlin (£75,000) Sam Cosgrove (£25,000) Chidi Nwakali (on loan) Freddie Woodman (on loan) Kenny McLean (on loan) Out Kenny McLean (£200,000) Craig Storie (released) Greg Tansey (on loan to Ross County) Frank Ross (on loan to Greenock Morton) Quite a busy transfer window for us which normally we only sign 1 or 2 players max but think it has been a great transfer window overall. Niall McGinn is looking really good especially the last two matches and looks so refreshed. I'm not sure about Devlin as I didn't see him stand out in the games I've watched but those in the game rave about him so hopefully will be a good signing. Don't get our fans questioning the amount of goals Cosgrove has scored - he has hardly be on the pitch and still a kid. - signed for the future but we lack a plan B upfront and he would provide that with his height (McInnes said he was going to sign next season but decided to take him in early). McInnes has been raving about Nwakali saying the Aberdeen fans will love him so looking forward to seeing him play. We have signed a world cup winner in Woodman - Can't remember much about about his spell at Killie but I think he will get the nod ahead of Rogers (adios Rogers in the summer if so). What a deal we got for Kenny McLean £200,000 and back on loan, so glad we have him till the end of the season as I think he will be a massive miss once gone. Craig Storie looked good a few years ago against Celtic so what a disappointment. Hopefully Tansey finds the form he had when we first come in from him and come back a better player. Frank Ross is one for the future and his loan deal he will become a better player having got the experience in the Championship. Up the dons
  14. Can take in an emergency loan - I'm sure you can do that outwith a transfer window.
  15. I don't see the point in getting a keeper on loan unless the manager doesn't rate Rogers We have the same amount of points as did at this stage last season. We need to get 30 points from the next 14 games to equal the points we got last season - tough ask.
  16. From Dyce and Bucksburn there will be buses that will run from the pubs - spiders web already run buses at a loss because a lot of them go by train at the moment. Who would take the bus into town from Dyce or Bucksburn (new station for AECC in 2019) when they can catch the train it takes 7 minutes - that would be quicker than those that take the bus into town from Cove or even the likes of Northfield. Then get a bus from town - many will use this option and meet up with their mates in town.
  17. Stewart Milne https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/news/local/dons-chairman-stewart-milne-welcomes-councils-decision-on-kingsford-stadium-plan/ He said: “After 17 years, we are one step closer to a new home that will allow us to meet our vision and ambition for Aberdeen Football Club, our city and our region. “Together, we can deliver a first-class facility that will make us all proud, unlocking the potential of the Club, the Trust and the next generation of football stars and making a positive contribution to the local economy. “We applaud the Councillors for taking this decision in the face of considerable objections. We are fully aware of and sympathetic to those in Westhill and Kingswells who have objected to our plans and I want to reassure them once more that we want to engage with them to deliver community facilities they can all enjoy and benefit from. “I’d like to sincerely thank all those who have supported our plans and the AURORA campaign: our fans, businesses, community groups, sports organisations and individuals. “I’d also like to pay tribute to our team of advisers and experts who have worked professionally, effectively and tirelessly for almost two years on this application. “The next steps are to await final approval from the Scottish Government, agree the section 75, work through the conditions with the Council, and secure the necessary road and building warrant consents. Assuming these move at pace, we should be in a position to begin construction of phase one this summer.”
  18. Needs to be approved by the Scottish Government which Stewart Milne thinks that could be in the summer that Stage 1 (training facilities) can be built.
  19. If you are undecided on the decision then all you need is Councillor Boulton to talk you in to voting yes!
