  1. Last nights episode was one of my favourite episodes ever of Breaking Bad.

The dinner scene was just great

    Agreed, a fantastic episode.

Plus now I know how to escape if I'm ever cable-tied to a radiator

  2. Enemy At The Gates - 6 / 10

Only 6? I think it's at least an 8, the initial scene of the "new recruits" defending Stalingrad is fantastic.

Anyway...watched American History X last night, I'd seen it before but it still had me gripped. If you haven't seen it before I'd highly recommend it. Although that pavement scene is f*cking brutal :green .

    Easily a 9, perhaps even 10/10

  3. To be fair, if before watching this someone had told me the guy that played Hal in malcolm in the middle was going to play a drugs lord, I would have thought it would have been a terrible choice!

  4. Clive Russell has been in just about everything, although the only thing I can put my finger on was him playing the tall guy in Still Game, Paul Kaye was Dennis Pennis and was in Its All Gone Pete Tong and Dame Diana Rigg was in The Avengers and On Her Majesty's Secret Service and more recently played herself in Extras.

Basically, you know nothing Gordon the Gopher.

Ramsay Snow not been cast yet, but neither has Mance Rayder, and both characters were mentioned at the end of S.2 so you've got to imagine they'll be featuring in S.3.

Out of interest who do you think would be a good casting for mance and ramsay?

Personally just for the eyes I think Rob James-Collier would be perfect for Ramsay. In terms of mance...I always pictured the wildlings as Scots so would love Bobby Carlisle (although not muscular enough) or Ewan McGregor for the role, but I don't think it will be such a high profile actor. I've heard rumours that it might be James Purefoy from the series "Rome" which would actually be a decent choice.

Speaking of prolific Scottish actors, I'm actually quite disappointed that John Hannah wasn't cast as Edmure Tully.....I would have thought that would have been a perfect casting.

  5. I've just finished "A Feast for Crows", book 4 in the "Song of Ice and Fire" series. I'm still enjoying it, but I wish to f**k the story would move forward a bit. Loads happening but nothing to move the story onwards. I've heard that "Dance with Dragons" is much the same :(

Yeah, I found a feast for crows pretty slow on my first read of it, I found Dance to be a bit better in terms of pace (still not as good as A Storm of Swords though!)

Being a bit of a sad b*stard I'm on my third read through the series at the moment, it was only on my re-read of A feast for crows, once I knew how important some of the new characters are that I started to really enjoy it.

  6. I've just watched the new cast. I don't like either of the Reeds. Not what I envisaged at all. The rest look pretty spot on, or as close to spot on as it can be. Mackenzie Crook is a massive coup for the show.

Really? I think both of the reeds look great. Most of the rest look good as well, especially the blackfish and beric dondarion.

The queen of thorns might take some getting used to for me though - I had always pictured Maggie Smith when reading the books.

Don't know what part Mackenzie Crook might play since Orrel was supposed to have been killed in ACoK when Jon met Ygritte (possible taking over the role of Varamyr Sixskins?). Although when I heard Crook was going to be in this season I immediately thought he would have made an excellent Vargo Hoat.

  7. Watched an Irish film last night on iPlayer called "Small engine repairs", the only reason I decided to watch it was that Iain Glenn (Ser Jorah Mormont) was in it. It's basically about a middle aged guy in a small, backwards Irish town trying to become a country singer whilst dealing with some small town problems.

    5/10

Worth a watch if you're bored.

  8. Stannis and Bran are the most boring.

Opinions vary - I'm personally very interested for the winds of winter in what happens with the battle for Winterfell and also what happens with Bran, Bloodraven and the Weirwood World Web (with it's views into the past potentially revealing important confirmations of certain theories and/or other plot-lines)

  9. After reading all of the books so far a few times I'm a big fan of (Don't click if you don't want to know a couple of the characters that are still alive after book 5)

    Stannis and Bran

But for some reason I can't get this song out of my head after the blackwater episode:

Just thought I would share for the fans of the books who know the history of the song.

  10. Rangers fans' breakdowns on Facebook the past 24 hours have been quite limited for me (most of my friends are Rangers fans as well) but the ones that have exploded their rage on Facebook have been excellent entertainment. The whole 'We Will Never Surrender' pish with lengthy comments on how the SFA are picking on them.

    Idiots.

Surprisingly the only major breakdown on my feed about this news was a Celtic fan shitting himself that if Rangers die Scottish football would die.

Proof if ever was needed that they really are two cheeks of the same arse.
