I think Thatcher would have approved of folk making a quick buck out of her death - charging £17 for a Witch is Dead T-shirt, the money made from the song on itunes etc etc. Capitalism eh?
I can't help but think they should outsource the funeral and have a private firm charge for entry to St Pauls etc

I'm not going to get into the pissing contest about whether Thatcher should be respected in death, or whether a few hundred dog on a shoe string commies represent 'the left' in Britian. I will however post what I consider to be some of the most erudite thoughts on Thatcher's approach, ironically from a Conservative...admittedly in the traditional 'one nation', rather than neo-libertarian mould:

As for who's fans were better I thought they were both excellent while the game was still competitive. Arguing over it is an irrelevance though.

Just rolled into the house and to say I'm gutted would be an understatement. The final has been a coverup on a seriously crap season.
I hope that the Jambos enjoy their day tomorrow. Despite some dodgy refereeing you were by far the better side in every area. Agree re: the managers. Sergio showed a lot of decorum. Fair play to both sides of fans too, have had texts from English mates about how impressive it looked and sounded.
To my fellow Hibbies: have a drink, shag your bird and look forward. The only way is up.

watching curb your enthusiasm and trying to forget about tomorrow. Even Larry David's deadpan take on life isn't helping. I think the honest answer is Locke left for Bradford when we had a better side under McCleish and has returned to hearts in a coaching capacity after we sold the players we did and are absolutely pish.
Don't get me wrong Gary might be a wonderfull motivator but he has been in the right sides and coaching at the right times.
The only time he's come up against us in a cup final his motivational skills came to f**k all in fairness. Didn't help that he was more of a cripple than Ian Murray during his playing days

Just had a quick read over the Hearts & Hibs plans for the pre-match displays and again, I think it's going to look absolutely fucking brilliant in both ends. The place is going to be bouncing.
Think you're right mate. However gay I think these sorts of thing are there's no denying the passion on both sides of the divide. We may hate each other but we can be proud of our derby.

They're 3-0 up already don't you know? They booked a hotel beforw us, they're having a lopsided display with 20,000 flags & Jamie MacDonalds starting. 3-0 hibs. We might as well stay in the pub.
:lol: :lol: There's a slight problem with these goals though.
1. They plan on waving these flags during the game, all at the same time. How long will they wave them before they realise that they're all tangling and no-one can see a fucking thing outwith the front row?
2. They have 40 volunteers to lay out 4000 A2 sheets of paper and haven't even written instructions when to lift them on the back.
3. Jamie MacDonald has the 3rd best defence in the country infront of him. He also plays far better in big games.
The thing is how many Hibs fans have actually talked about the above? there are a few of the 'yam brigade' on hibs.net who might believe that bollocks but have you actually spoken to a non care in the community type who believes it? Most Hibbies I know will agree that the Jambos have a better side as weighted out in league performance but that in a cup final it is possible to get a result for a myriad of factors.

Never forget a hearts fan actually using the term 'special relationship' when talking about the Scottish Cup having won it twice in fifty years. Our record is pitiful but for all they go on about theres you'd have thought they were winning it every year.

Meant to highlight the degree of shared history between our clubs and the sporting nature of our rivalry. They hate us, we hate them but I can still understand where the jambos are coming from and respect them a lot more than the sort of huddies you get in dundee who use centuries of bigotry to justify their support for the **** or ****
