dont be silly. most interviews see the player make statements such as i will score or i will stop them scoring but not this lad. he came across as a really decent chap whos willing to learn scottish football

anyway i suggest all we need now is a real No.9 who can score goals and we will have a top nothchg squad and team barring injuries

    Me not be silly?

You crossed from wide with hoping he gets his hair cut so he doesn't get it pulled, then rattled it home with he doesn't give much away.

I think you've got silly pretty much taped.

  2. Was pleased to see Freeman have a good game. Once he's match fit I'm fairly sure he'll be fine, so long as we stay 4 at the back.

Pollock injected us with an energy and pace we haven't had in a long time, until he too tired. V promising. Hamilton also isn't match fit but ran himself into the ground for the cause.

Overall, we looked good. 10 minutes of arse collapse completely ruined the good work, so I'm hopeful that Broonie can grab the middle by the scruff of the neck and that somehow our back line calms the f**k doon.

And we keep 4 at the back.

    We were excellent today.

The clever one twos were brilliant. However that’s unacceptable to lose 2 points.

The manager needs to take responsibility for the subs. It wasn’t a tactical change so there was no justification for it, big Jack was playing well so why bring him off. I’d wager he would’ve won the header in injury time.

Hamilton were shocking, ridiculous. We could’ve dealt them an embarrassment of a scoreline yet it’s us feeling like that’s

Jack was knackered. Out on his feet.

I still don't understand the hate that Freeman is getting like he's hardly kicked a ball for us and there is more people jumping on him than there was Fredriksson when that useless lamp post was with us. Can some please explain what I'm missing ??

I'm certainly not hating. I'd rather have him play than shoehorn a midfielder in there. Last time I saw him play was against Kdy & Dysart and I can't say I remember when he got injured. He's been fit enough to make the bench but not to get off it before putting another midfielder at RB.  He's never really mentioned much in the injury updates in interviews (no doubt someone will say he has been) so I'm left a bit puzzled by his continuing absence, that's all.

If he's back tomorrow I'm all for it. Playing people in their positions has to be a positive step forward.

I think there is something in what Murray alluded to just before his exit....

Why do we have/get so many injuries, and it take so long for the players to recover?  Also we get told they are out for a week or so, but months later players still out.

Honestly don't think anything sinister but it surely cannot all be bad luck?  Bear in mind it has been like this since McGrymm was here.

We need new players.  We can all see this, so surely the BOD can look into that rather than new bloody tumble driers and what colour paint for the tea room!

The stadium is not in danger of being relegated!

    Neither is the team ffs.

You're all over the place. You think there's something in what IM said, but don't think it's anything sinister but it can't all be bad luck. What is it then?

We've played 5 games. There are 93 points left to play for and the 5 teams above us are maximum 2 points ahead.

If current form continues to Xmas and beyond we'll be in danger of relegation. In September, with arguably our 2 best players still recovering from injury, we're not.

An unsurprising piece in the Courier. https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/sport/football/5083466/neill-collins-signings-raith-rovers-spfl-championship/

No mention that they've stopped the refurbishment though, disappointing lack of focus 🙄

I made the point before - we were told throughout the managerless phase that recruitment activity at the club continued unchanged, so I presume NC arrived to a list of names under consideration, some of whom will already have been sounded out by Potter etc. I'm sure too that NC arrived with some names of his own to consider once he'd had a look at the squad.

Well, he's seen the squad in training and in competitive matches and between him and Potter, must know what's missing. I'll therefore be disappointed if we don't have anyone in this week, given it's an 8 day window. If recruitment activity truly was continuing all along, we should be able to act quickly. Other clubs are taking in loans now - we should be too.

This is another problem - discipline. Both those red cards were avoidable. Yes, the opponent was in and we were in all likelihood about to go 1-0 down, but at least there would 11 men on the park to try and claw it back. Down to 10 and things become far more difficult.

There's the twist. It was Chris Kane who was through. The ball was more likely to be out for a goal kick than end up nestling in the net.

Until we play defenders in defence and strikers up front I'm not entirely sure things will change.  We won't score enough and concede too much.

Very much this. I'm less concerned about the personnel than I am about the formation. 3 ay the back needs to be in the bin.

That said, they now have a week to get a loan or three in, if, as we've been told, recruitment activity has been ongoing. I await with interest.

    Supposition and hyperbole.

Unless you know something, kindly refrain from making a fool of yourself.

To be fair to 1974, Ding Dang Doo has "guaranteed" Stanton is not injured.

He's either ITK and too chickenshit to reveal what would indeed be a problem, or blethering pish.

Over to Raith TV to ask questions of NC regarding Stantons status. He's either injured as we were told or refusing to play which surely means breach of contract.

Raith TV is the club media channel. That question, even if allowed to be asked, will not be answered there, and rightly so.

But I agree that a player's refusal to play is almost certainly a breach of contract, and if so, needs addressed. If he's not being selected when fit, it's tactical or personal, and given the state of the side, it's not tactical. Which leaves us with one explanation.

Serious allegations, hence me asking if OP is actually ITK or Sam Stanton himself (I don't think it's Sam).

Hanlon was excellent last night. Few times in this first half he made some excellent clearances when balls were getting thrown in down our left side. To suggest he was in any way liable last night is ridiculous. Perhaps a 3 year deal for a guy his age wasn't the smartest move but I've been told that was one of the reasons he came to us and not elsewhere. We didn't offer him the most money so had to incentivise him somehow.

The issue comes down to when we sacked Murray we had lost Turner, McGill and Rudden (thrown in Gullan from January) and replaced them with 2 untried youngsters at this level. Murray never said he thought the squad was finished if I recall he more or less said he wanted others but if we couldn't get them we would go with what we had. That tells me he wanted options but the board never got it over the line which then is a worry. Are we offering 3 year deals cause we don't want to pay the money needed.

"Throw the Stanton "issue" into the mix (he is not injured)."

You better be ITK, otherwise you're part of the problem.
