  1. Okay .. thought I'd warn you guys ..

I personally would not trust the ExpatShield software. There are mixed reviews on the web ... should have checked first :(

I installed it and there was no virus warnings from Avast antivirus.

However shortly after the install I received several emails from Google stating that an application had tried logging into my email accounts and the blocked it. The originating ip address was in the USA and when I did a lookuo on the ip address. It belonged to the company that makes the Expatshield.

When I rebooted my laptop I also lost my aero theme settings.

    I have uninstalled it ..

Some people report it works fine ... however .. here is the mail

You have received this mandatory email service announcement to update you about important changes to your Google product or account.

I've been using it for a while and had no problems. I've had these warnings from Google before but that was before I installed expat shield.

Third man is charged over Brechin stabbing

A third man has been charged in connection with a stabbing in Brechin.

Tayside Police said a 33-year-old man was charged with attempted murder following a disturbance in the town's Montrose Street, which left a 40-year-old man with stab wounds.

Two other men, aged 31 and 40, had previously been charged with breach of the peace following the incident on Monday morning.

The injured man remains in a serious condition at Ninewells Hospital.

The social unrest has started, just at the thought of the visiting hordes.

  3. Ohhh the green eyed monster and jealously of the wee Hearts diddy shines through ... You dinnae see may Hearts shirts outside of Edinburgh ,... except when they play away ...

My son has seen plenty of Celtic shirts even in India ... albeit fakes ... nobody bothers faking the wee diddy shirts no interest.

Believe it or not I have seen Hearts shirts here. Face the facts your team isn't as big as you all seem to think you were both left well behind some years ago. The only time I get asked about the famous old firm game the questions are always "is it really as violent as I've read ?" "do people really get killed" and "Is it true it's all about catholics and protestants hating each other". So, there you are that's your great legacy, Scotland renowned for violence and sectarianism.

  4. So were Nazis and the KKK.

    Brands can be toxic.

Rangers are not a global brand. Sure they have some expats around the world buying stuff but nobody else. When I go to a sports shop here I see Man U, Real Madrid, Barca, AC Milan and Chelsea shirts. Young Canadian kids buy them but have no clue about the teams, they are global brands.

The only people I see wearing Rangers or Celtic shirts are fat sweaty middle aged expats.

  5. I thank you for enlightening me.

Now to squirm a little to try to rescue myself.

I imagine there will be some interest amongst English fans, not a lot,

mostly driven by ex-pat Scots, IMO.

I'd like to know what the GLOBAL football community thinks.

    Can anyone else contribute?

I have signed up for the FIFA site and have seen 2 posts concerning TCFKAR,

both supportive, but in a totally clueless way.

Speaking for Canada nobody gives a flying f*ck. Even the "soccer" people that know about it couldn't care less.

Global brand my arse, that goes for you too Celtic.

  6. They just won`t die, will they?

Radio Scotland just wheeled out an eminent(?) sport solicitor called David Thompson who stated directors who vote against Newco despite being aware of the financial hit involved could be in breach of the Companies Act and could face possible action as they`re remit is to protect the Company and they cannot take sporting integrity into account.

Utter pish. Just desperate last chance tugging at the heart strings from the "we must save Rangers" lobby

  7. Nah. Aristotle defined the goal of tragedy as eliciting "pity and fear" in the audience. This spectacle has notably failed to elicit much fear and utterly failed to elicit any pity.

This is more Chekov, showing the failure of the once powerful noble class to adopt to a changed world in which the old certainty of serfdom was no more and the inability of people to confront unpleasant reality.

Does Murray Park have a cherry orchard?

No cherry orchard but plenty seagulls.

  8. All,

As an ex TV licence payer, and someone who relies heavily on the BBC at the moment, surely Chico must be shown the bullet? He seems to be on holiday at the moment; let's hope it's permanent.

Despite never bought a Rancid in his life, I hope Jim Traynor's current employers also do the right thing and release him from his duties. Scottish football is soon to have a rebirth, so let's make it a proper one, with non-biased journalism, a lack of cronyism, a lack of paranoia, conspiracy theories etc....

I don't care about the record but I sincerely hope the BBC do the right thing and tell Traynor and Young to get to f*** after all this.

  9. “They have lived beyond law and all morals, and should now be declared beyond the pale. A society that allows the destruction of integrity in sport, which is a crucial part of Scottish culture, is destroying itself – and all for the benefit of a media aborigine.”

Just ran Romanovs statement by a Russian guy I work with. He says the aborigine comes from directly translating from Russian and he means the media are primitive and uneducated.

Just thought I'd clear that up, he isn't really that mental, just lost in translation.

  10. TBF to @BBCchrismclaug, he's also qualified that: #SPL source: Part of newco application for membership could depend on them taking responsibility for possible past transgressions. #Rangers

Anyway, here's that peculiar graphic ("NOT FOOTBALL FANS") from the STV docudrama last evening:

    2hfou50.jpg

According to that graphic 32% of Rangers supporters either have no opinion or, presumably, think there should be no penalty. But why don't they show that ?

  11. On the campaigning front I agree totally with the sentiment to get the fans voices heard. I was wondering whether it might be easier to go to the Supporters Trusts and use them. Dingwall and McMillan get air time because they represent a body. I'm not sure the journalists would give us the same credit mostly because of their own narrow mindedness. Didn't the Dons Trust write a good letter to Milne. Wouldn't it be great to have the other 11 Supporters Trusts in the SPL holding a joint press conference laying out the arguments as to why we don't need Rangers cans why this is utter pish. Probably too many egos involved for it to happen but just a thought.

Whilst the sound of a united diddy front (UDF – how does that sound ? I'm sure it's never been used before) is very laudible it's clear that given the performance of the Scottish media it would be like pissing against the wind.

From what I've seen over the past few weeks the only Scottish people with any media presence and connection to football, to present the views of thediddy fans (i.e. the 96%) are Tam Cowan and Stuart Cosgrove. I've heard it said that they visit these pages, perhaps they could be persuaded to get involved in such a campaign.
