Cant see any of our current players dropping down to league 2, other than Balde who's just went to East Kilbride.

I cant recall how many points we were ahead of relegation spot when Dick and Ian took over but remember them steadying the ship, then completely overhauled the squad and won league 2 on the last day the next season (one of my favourite seasons ever watching Arbroath) we then reached the play offs in season 2 in league 1, following season we romped league 1 and then stayed in the championship comfortably almost achieving promotion to the premier, wheels came off a bit since the defeat at Kilmarnock but nice to see him back involved.

Expect a bit of a rollercoaster at times but cant see it being anything other than successful.

Aye if he does half the job for East Fife what he did for Arbroath then I’ll be very happy. His man management and player motivation is something that has been sadly lacking. Hell not accept players losing battles all over the park. A change that was badly needed as there weren’t going to be many fans left as the apathy towards everything East Fife was spiralling out of control. This coupled with the chance of fan ownership will hopefully get all the fans back on board and let’s see a big turn out on Saturday to get behind Dick and his coaching team.

  2. After being thumped by Spartans on Tuesday there was absolutely no reaction to that at Elgin on Saturday. Seems McDonald not being able to motivate the players and there is ways to lose games of football but too many times this season it’s way below any standards any decent manager would command.. Thanks for your effort but after Dunbar it was just a case of when and not if. The board have given him every opportunity but you couldn’t see any improvement what so ever. Crowds dwindling and a style of football that you wouldn’t want to watch on a public park. Who knows who would be interested in a bottom half league 2 team.

That's as comfortable a win for us as I've seen in a long time. We lacked a bit of quality at times in the final third but the midfield completely dominated East Fife, who admittedly offered very little, and the defence were rarely called into action. The only real chance I can remember for them was the Austin header which forced another outsanding save from McHale. Credit has to go Hale because every single player looked hungrier than their opponent which was why we were able to have such control for the majority of the game. I worried I'd maybe hyped Gallagher up too much after his first two performances and I think he is prone to trying too do much at times. Overall though, what a player.

It's a very tough run of games coming up but I have a degree of confidence this team can take a few points from them. We might struggle to create much against some of the better defences but that midfield can compete with anyone at this level. A win on Tuesday and we'd be 5th...

That is very worrying for me when you can’t match the hunger of your opponents then there is something fundamentally wrong . The management team should be getting the team to run through brick walls for them but I have the feeling the players dont respect him. You can maybe point to trips to Stranraer and Elgin in 7 days and a game on Tuesday but the least the fans expect is a hunger and desire to win games. At league 2 level all teams lacking in quality it is sometimes heart and desire that gets you over the line . Fans voting with their feet as some recent home games attracting crowds of less than 500. Let’s hope this change that is proclaimed isn’t going to be too late. Been a horrible 120th anniversary season for us.

  4. Who knows what East Fife will turn up only thing predictable is how unpredictable we are. Been same all season just when you think a corner is being turned we have a head on crash. Need to cut out individual errors by experienced players or we will find ourselves heading home pointless. Elgin appear a much improved team from the one that looked so poor at Bayview earlier in the season. Hoping for a win but a draw wouldn’t be a disaster.

  5. Pretty pleased with that result today at a difficult Stair Park. That’s  5 games without defeat and since our pumping from Bonnyrigg on the Friday before Xmas we have been digging in and fighting for the cause. The games keep coming thick and fast and onto Spartans at Bayview on Tuesday . Makes a difference to players confidence when you can string a few results together so long May it continue.

  6. Greig McDonald did say in his interview after Saturdays game he was hopeful of getting a couple of players in this week. No point bringing in players if they are no better than what we have already. He’s probably waiting to see how the injured players are coming along before deciding where to strengthen. What’s the point in bringing in a couple of 19 year olds to sit on the bench be as well just sticking with what we have. I thought we looked decent on Saturday and with a couple of tweaks were not far away.

  7. Some play acting from Peterhead I’ve never heard so many grown men squealing whenever anyone went near them. As soon as they felt a touch on them they went down in a crumpled heap squealing like a 2 year old child.. If course the incompetent referee fell for it every time. Not much in the way of football from Peterhead route one hoof ball to McAllister when he came on. Where do they get these referees from So inconsistent with his card decisions.
