I picked up on a possible link but didn't know if it amounted to anything.

I have gone back and come up with this which doesn't seem to be a football share type of link-up:

The link up was nothing to do with matters on the park. Simply a helping hand with the fence installation at NWP.

Great 3 points for Kilsyth Rangers at Renfrew, decent performance from the team after last week's horror show at Craigmark.

Wondering do Renfrew have anyone recording the game as Ryan Deas 2nd goal was a thing of beauty, the left back had to pay to get back in and then the other 3 he beat before firing in net was outstanding

Don't think so - if there was it would be x-certificate. Always liked Ryan Deas as a player (he was at Renfrew a while back) but he should never have been allowed to waltz round our defenders who failed to get a tackle in. Good skill but crap defending.

  3. I would say that Blantyre's performance first half at NWP was the best I have seen from any visiting side this season. Mind you Renfrew gave them a helping hand with some sloppy defending. Second half Renfrew made a go if it and Blantyre conceded 3 goals, although running out 5-3 winners in the end. Blantyre looked a lively outfit with some good forwards, quick on the break, and reasonably sound at the back. Going down to 10 men did not seem to phase them. Certainly in my promotion threesome. As for Renfrew - mid table by the looks of it now.

    Renfrew 0-1 neilston

farmers march on with a vital away win to continue the run

wasn’t the best performance but showed our battling qualities..

1st half . Renfrew had most of the play but never really showed much in final third

2nd half -1st 20mins we step up a gear and got our goal had some other decent chances  .. Renfrew presses for equaliser but same as 1st half couldn’t break us down

Wouldn't disagree too much with that.  Neilston very well organised at the back not giving much away. You forgot to mention that Renfrew came very close hitting the bar twice in the second half.

Good luck to Disco, Chris and Neilston for the rest of the season.

  5. Western Park Renfrew was only 5 minutes walk from Renfrew station which was in Fulbar Street. Beeching closed the line (a spur from Paisley) along with many others in the 1960s. The old station building still exists at the foot of Fulbar St. Western Park on Inchinnan Road was closed  about 6 years ago, demolished and replaced by housing.

Going back in time in the Glasgow area a Junior club with no railway line either outside the ground or a couple of streets away would be possibly Duntocher Hibs or Renfrew. Maryhill Juniors had Maryhill Central almost on it's doorstep. Thought Perthshire might be in the running but there's a train station 5 minutes away up Ashfield St. Even Vale of Clyde had the old Parkhead line nearby in years passed.

  7. We certainly rode our luck today against a hard working, quick passing dominant Darvel team, particularly in the second half.

Danny McLeay in goal had a great game but, no surprise as he is a good shot stopper.

On another day Darvel could have scored 6 or 7.

Sweet revenge for 'Frew who were unlucky down at Darvel, losing 4-3 with the first Darvel goal yards offside but no assistant refs that day unfortunately.

    Time for a beer.

Last Saturday’s fantastic win away to Clydebank and the home draw midweek against Auchinleck has shown that the club is in very good hands and a massive well done has to go to everyone connected with the club. The new squad that the manager has assembled along with the unbelievable transformation of the new home ground in such a short space of time shows that the future is extremely bright. The amount of youngsters that are attending the games is very refreshing to see and a huge pat on the back must go to the manager and committee . They have made massive steps to engage the young people of Kilwinning with the local junior team and for that they deserve all the credit in the world.

An exciting new chapter for the Buffs , I believe there are some people still unhappy and would prefer to stay in the dark ages ? These people should get themselves behind the players, the management team and committee and enjoy what the guys are trying to do.

Good to hear positive news in the juniors. Good luck in the future.
