Obileye apparently at Fir Park signing a pre-contract apparently. Good luck with him, he's hopeless. I've never saw a footballer with such a lack of a weak foot, he'd rather turn inside and use his right and risk losing it on the edge of the box than just play out his left.

Good in the air but lazy and very little concentration. We lost our first goal v County due to him standing still dreaming and lets Simon Murray run through uncontested.

    He'll do well here then.

The Govt. Loan thing being presented as a problem is one of the things that I have most difficulty with. The terms of that loan are (from a commercial point of view) literally unbeatable - it would be impossible for us to get finance at that cost (doubly so due to our past admin). If the club didn't take that loan on, much bigger questions would have been asked as the Directors would have failed.

The way the loan is presented in the accounts is (for a non-accountant like me) very weird - but that doesn't change the facts.

Companies were more or less told to recognise the income from the loan/grant as other income in the P&L, with the debt recognised on the Balance Sheet.

The accounts for MFC aren't all that bad, relatively speaking.

The Well Society in the other hand ...

@Muzz1886 what is your current opinion on Kettlewell?

Personally I think Motherwell have been extremely unlucky in a number of games.

A new manager “bounce” could be the best option leading into the January shutdown and transfer window.

I might be going again the current widely held opinion of Kettlewell, however I think he should still have until at least Christmas.

Just taking the last 2 games in isolation; a great point at Celtic Park followed up by a great start yesterday which was undone by poor defensive mistakes, again. From minute 5, you could feel the confidence being sucked out of the team, they're used to chasing a game rather than managing a lead. They didn't have long to wait until we were back in our default position.  There is no doubt that there is a good team spirit (last minute goal rescues another point, again), so the players are playing for him however most of the positions that we've found ourselves in this season have been self inflicted due to individual errors and shite goalkeeping.

For me, the big difference between this season and last actually isn't KvV, it's because the wing backs aren't of the same quality.  Furlong and Johnston's strength and pace haven't been adequately replaced. Spencer needs to be on the right, and either SoD or Gent on the left.

Overall, the tension in the stands isn't helping the team.  Our fan base needs to be realistic, we're not a big club or business, 9th is about right for us, and we can't keep sacking managers. We're one poor managerial appointment from relegation. We persisted with Robbo after a run just like this one and it worked (the first time anyway) and he turned it around.  Kettlewell has earned his chance until Christmas due to last season's performance.

TLDR; aye, I still back him.

Not to kill the vibe but I’m not sure I agree with the clamour for this to be honest.

February to May was lightning in a bottle stuff for us and Van Veen. If this season has proved anything though, it’s that these things don’t last. Just like in the long term Kettlewell is proving himself to be the extremely limited manager that got binned after less than half a season in Dingwall, Van Veen would ultimately go back to being the decent but frustrating Scottish Premiership striker that he was prior to Kettlewell’s arrival.

It would be expensive and he won’t come back and magically solve all our problems. Priority in January should be an actual left back. Unless Davor does an Ally Gorrin, then we need a proper sitting midfield option as well. Maybe even a winger as well so we can mix things up occasionally and not be so utterly fucking predictable.

We’ve kept 1 clean sheet in 14 games, have no left back, no wingers and our midfield is held together by a 17 year old who’s currently crocked. Call me crazy but spunking most of our January budget on a temperamental 32 year old journeyman striker to add to the 5 we already have probably isn’t the best plan.

Talk about killing the mood!  I feel like I've been knee capped reading that.

(You're absolutely spot on, mind you.)

Was this at an away game? I can't remember who we were playing but it was away and they got a penalty quite close to the end and 2 of my dads mates headed for the stairs but my dad said to stay, it'd be saved. Not one for optimism, on this time he was right and it was saved.

Anyway, Kelly seems good when the defense is good. When we go on a good run, Kelly makes some brilliants saves and looks as good as our media team would have us believe. When we're on a crap run and the defense is crap then Kelly is too. I don't mean he stops making the brilliant saves, it's like he's lost all confidence or desire and then the realatively simple saves go by him.
90% convinced our Captaincy Armband has been cursed since Las left.

It was at Fir Park I think, Viduka went down the middle, Stevie stood up to it and touched it over the bar.

Rumours that he was slow to move and that's why he saved it are unproven.

    But possibly true.

Still of the same opinion @Muzz1886?

From the games I watched Motherwell play (a few weeks back) this seems more like a confidence issue.

Perhaps Kettlewell needs to kick a few arses to get a response.

I certainly don’t want to see the guy lose his job but it’s been a slippery slope over recent weeks. From my experience our games against Motherwell have been closer than other opponents.

I wish you all well. Stay patient as it’s not that you are greatly adrift from the  pack. String a few results together and things will improve quite quickly. Good luck.

    Even after Saturday, yes.

A number of years ago, ironically under Robbo, after something like 3 defeats in 3 weeks against Celtic, it broke us for about 2/3 months.  We went on a horrendous run, confidence was shattered and it looked like we were doomed.  To be fair to Robbo, he turned it around just before the knives were out for him.

This run has the hallmarks of that.

We've been gash for a good few weeks now, but Ketts has something mental like 50% win rate for us because of the run we went on last season, which means he gets until at least January from me.  He has been asked to replace a 30 goal striker , and a left and right wing back that has great potential to go places in the game with peanuts; practically impossible for a MFC manager.  Nothing else has changed all that much since last season, so that's where the problem is right now.  It wasn't that long ago that we were playing some right good stuff, so the team are capable of better.  Scoring goals will be a problem.

We are were we should be now; bottom half.  The start of the season fooled a lot of people into thinking we're better than what we are.

I have more questions on how the club is being ran rather than questions for the management team.
