That's a fair point.  If you are not involved in sales or advertising then you should consider it . 😉

I personally have mixed opinions . Although it is always nice to see your team on the telly I have many reservations about this one.  Moving it away from the traditional weekend slot takes away some of the natural atmosphere for both players and fans and also the potential matchday revenue that brings. It's a shame for the Darvel fans who I'm sure would have travelled in numbers on a Saturday and made a day of it  . Instead the less committed might be swayed to watch the game at home.  Hopefully I am proven wrong.

Attracting matchday sponsorship and hospitality is difficult at the best of times but having the game on a Monday night makes it more of a challenge . Presumably the BBC take this into consideration and their coverage fee is enough to at least cover the potential loss of income for both clubs .

I know TV coverage has dictated the timing of matches at higher levels for years now and inconvenienced fans and clubs in equal measures, but for lower league clubs every pound spent on a matchday is vital to their survival.

On the plus side , hopefully the extra publicity will benefit both clubs going forward and they can both make the most out of their couple of hours in the spotlight. ....................But please BBC , do some proper research and try and avoid the standard cliche ridden condescending pish you normally put out .

Thought they did away with coverage fees and all the TV monies went into a pot to be shared by all clubs?

Aye the Aberdeen bypass will get you from Brechin to Dyce in no time. Would you go the Oldmeldrum>Turiff>Banff road after that?

Sounds about right, would keep me away from Inverurie (my work colleagues always say nightmare for traffic there on a Saturday). Queue getting stuck behind a tractor...

Long day, home about 9 pmish?

It's not that far, under 2 hours away. I'd imagine bus will be back about 7pm and only left early so folk could get a good few pints in and enjoy their day out.

If I go i'll be driving up, although looks like it'd be by myself at the minute

    Apologies.

It's in the QR Codes section of the Booking Guide, rather than in the email itself.Screenshot_20210729_135915_com.adobe.reader.thumb.jpeg.8f13a11b90f664c356d92a061a80ac01.jpeg

Ah cheers, never bothered reading that... Bought enough tickets in the past to know how to use the website. Was a bit of pain having to screenshot and crop tickets for other folk.

Also, Israel KO according to tickets is 1945....

QR code only ticketing for a game kicking off at 7.45 on a Saturday night.

    What could possibly go wrong?

ps. The email specifically states you should NOT print off the ticket to use at the turnstiles.
Any tech minded person know why this is?
I would have thought a QR code was a QR code, regardless of how it was presented?

Where does it say that? It says "It is essential you save or print a copy for future reference" at the bottom of my email.

The two gofundme's are only looking for £7,000, and £5,000 of that is to fix the pitch not run the club. If they weren't getting a cut of the gate how exactly do you think they're paying people?

They would of set up another gofundme if they weren't getting anything.

I wonder what they will do if the get a Scottish Cup game at home this season?

Have they missed a zero off those numbers? We were 70-80k to fix the drainage at the glebe IIRC (and had to do it twice as first attempt didn't fully resolve the issues).

5k certainly doesn't sound like it would go far, especially if ground works are involved

Current group has until 1pm on Tuesday 25th May according to the email.

That's the whole sales window for all the SSC, they can't do the usual intermediate deadlines for points levels like they normally do as UEFA is handling sales. I'd expect them to start sending to 12 pointers towards end of the week. In the emails with ticket links it states tickets are not guaranteed and subject to availability, so you should really be buying them ASAP and not waiting till end of sales window.

Brechin supporters are happy to play whoever in a playoff and have accepted this. The letter and statement released by the club last week did not represent the opinion of the supporters, or in fact some of the BCFC committee I’m told.

We’ve been dreadful for two years in this league regardless of the number matches played so if we have to play a playoff, then so be it. We’ve had ample opportunity to sort things out but dreadful decisions and recruitment has cost us time and time again.

I'm not sure how much of a difference it would make, if any, but did the Brechin supporters club contact fans to get their opinions and then pass this on to the club?

I emailed the chairman before the statement was released, didn't have an isue with them asking legitimate questions (however long shots they were) but my main concern was rumours of proposed reconstruction inlcuding future inclusion for the colts (no mention of this in the statement). This issue was raised a few years ago at an AGM where it was pretty much unanimously voted down, so to even contemplate allowing the door to be opened for reserve sides without consulting the supporters (season ticket holders are also effectively the shareholders) is entirely unacceptable. Not had a reply yet...

It sounds like they have already sold more tickets than there are going to be seats available and are going to have to refund people as it is. I don't see why they'd want the extra complication of refunding even more people just so that the same tickets can be resold. There's nothing in that for them at all.

The SFA (and SSC members) are never guaranteed any tickets for any games which they don't organise.

Pretty sure all qualifying associations are guaranteed at least 15% of available capacities for matches they are involved in.

Regarding refunding some or all, with the timescale available refunding all and starting again is far less complex. Travel restrictions and quarantine rules etc means some who retain their tickets may not be able to attend, and would need to be refunded anyway with no time for Uefa to resell the ticket (bear in mind their portal is the only legal resale method)

Not league 2 but Raith Rovers have had losses of nearly £600,000 over 17/18 and 18/19 years. :)

Would that be around the time they spent half a million on an artificial pitch? No point at all in looking at the P&L column over a short period without having a breakdown of where it came from

Well evidently not as they were both signed over 30 days ago. Unless in which case they never lodged for clearance until well after the signings. No idea how it works tbh

"Within seven days of the date of the ITC request, the former association shall, by using the appropriate selection in TMS, either: a) deliver the ITC in favour of the new association and enter the deregistration date of the player; or b) reject the ITC request and indicate in TMS the reason for rejection, which may be either that the contract between the former club and the professional player has not expired or that there has been no mutual agreement regarding its early termination. 5. Once the ITC has been delivered, the new association shall confirm receipt and complete the relevant player registration information in TMS. 6. If the new association does not receive a response to the ITC request within 15 days of the ITC request being made, it shall immediately register the professional player with the new club on a provisional basis (“provisional Annexe 3 59 registration”). The new association shall complete the relevant player registration information in TMS (cf. Annexe 3, article 5.2 paragraph 6). A provisional registration shall become permanent one year after the ITC request. The Players’ Status Committee may withdraw a provisional registration, if, during this one-year period, the former association presents valid reasons explaining why it did not respond to the ITC request."

FIFA regs from the SFA website. Take it we either have made a mess of the form, or don't know the rules

It’s not a case of failing to have a squad signed up, we’ve 17 signed players!

Two of those in McLaughlin and Watt are STILL awaiting international clearance from Australia and Croatia despite signing over a month ago. This is outwith the clubs hands.

Add in a suspension, 2 injuries and a player on holiday and you have the predicament we had today.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the SFA grants provisional clearance if there hasn't been a reply within 30 days?

  13. Apparently 360/PS3 games will not be compatible with the new consoles.

They will be, but in digital format. I read that Sony were working on letting users link licences to their account which would then let them download games they already own.
