  1. He popped his shoulder in the wafer Cup and then slowly seen his game time get less and less from there. He does offer us something different but I think l1 is most likely his level nowadays.

One thing you will get from Ando is 100% every time he plays. All the players think he is under-rated ( watch bairdies interview) will surprise a few people this year and maybe happy to be a squad player
  2. It sums it up that one poster said it’s not Baird’s game to chase long balls, it most certainly isn’t Lewis Allan’s either, problem last night was a complete lack of a passer in midfield. Give the ball to Allan to his feet and he will hold it up well and bring others in around him, shelling balls at him from the centre backs or over his head and he will look shite

  3. Not been on this for a while, apologies if anything has been said in this issue.

I was at the Avengers last night in Dunfermline Odeon. Around about 6-6.30pm I was chilling in Costa and I see Big Nat up the back having what looked like an very official looking meeting with 3 guys. Lasted about 20 mins when I was there. And I swear I heard one of the guys saying ‘is there much more players leaving’ Make of that as you will, believe me or not, just thought I would share

So a player who is out of contract in a month or so is speaking about leaving. Not really a surprise is it
  4. McGlynn is a fraud. He has come back as some sort of messiah however was a pathetic, backwards appointment by the board to appease the fans.

He pretends he wants to play passing football and in his mind, having the centre backs split at a goal kick and the keeper to play it short only for them to then punt it constitutes a passing game. At least Barry Smith knew what he was and how he wanted his team to play and didn't pretend we were something else.  He knew what it took to wins games at this level and took us a hell of a lot closer to promotion than we will with McGlynn.

We only lost five games under Smith all season and have now lost 5 since McGlynn took over, four of which we were in a winning position. We have lost our unbeaten home run in the league and lost to East Fife twice!

He has been away from management for six years and has forgotten the things that made his teams successful in the past.  He is past it and should never have been appointed in the first place let alone backed significantly by the board. Being allowed to bring in an assistant, numerous signings, 18 month contracts for our highest earners…

You’ve had your time, it's over. Where are we going to be in 18 months’ time after his contract has expired? Still in league 1 is my guess and back to square 1 with no manager and no plan.

    Wow settle doon min

  5. That’s a valid point, you just hear a lot grumbling in the work place and out and about. A lot of unhappy faces with regards to the plastic pitch and where best to use the money.

The money for the pitch was ring fenced though it was NEVER going to be used on the squad. If come the league cup games we have eight or nine players, then is the time to worry not at the start of bloody june
  6. Reading the doom and gloom regarding the finances makes me wonder why we stayed full time, if we can’t match part time teams in terms of wages then this idea is folly. If we’re basically scraping the very bottom of the barrel it won’t breed any kind of excitement with the fans. Season ticket sales will drop dramatically. That’s in my head though!!! Last season Buchanan and Spence were the marquee signings. This season not so much.

It’s probably not that we cant match the wages though. It’s probably that we can’t match the wage of a job outside football and a decent pt wage. If players want to go or stay full time then it puts us in pole position. Also let’s wait until we see who we sign until we all start moaning our pus off. We are not in the same market as the other teams in this league
  7. Is the signing of McHattie another board boo boo much like the Barr situ or is just sheer bad luck?
On Bene being out for 6-8 weeks, think thats a  conservative estimate.Be surprised if hes not out for at least 12 weeks
No funds to bring in a loan signing?Gives a better understanding on what the undisclosed fee was for Cal

Or the money has already been spent on wages for Herron and zannatta. We were told early on that the youths would be back up.
Sim is trying to get the club on an even keel and not lose money every season which means the budget is very tight

  8. That's interesting, I think Young put his hat in the ring for the sake of it last season, knowing fine well he was under the requirements for experience and knowing he had the comfort of the job he was already in. Locke had the experience and the capability to win the board over as a hungry manager looking to prove himself.

Pretty sure I heard Aitken is in a pretty good job outside of football at Rolls Royce so really would be a gamble for him leaving that kind of comfort.

    [/quote
The real travesty is we interviewed jack Ross and decided unanimously that Locke was the better option
