  1. Just did a double take on that flawed catchphrase on what this really means.

    Best interests of the company?. Which would imply no one outside the club like Dave King, Union of Fans and all the other supporters have any influence on what are the clubs best interests. Most football clubs in Scotland don't have companies running them and are closer to the support, so the support have influence. But with Rangers if I was a supporter I would have as much influence as if I supported Mars Bars, .....supporter or customer?. How can you support a company like a football team?. Go Team Tesco!!

    Question also is do the people that run the company view the Rangers supporters as supporters or customers?

    Maybe what is happening right now is in the best interest of the club whatever the agenda and direction the directors/shareholders want to send the the club 'front'?. And the way it seems now its all about personal gain (short term) rather than any long term plan and the company Rangers IFC is the main body and Rangers FC Ltd is like a works team.

    Works team.....nice

    That could mean the company could pull the plug at any time if its main source of income is not providing enough gain to make it worth while and shift to another market that does, companies can be dissolved (it doesn't have to be in vast amounts of debt or have any debt at all) and the same people involved can go on their merry way to some other venture having dropped the Rangers name.

    Maybe then someone else could pick up the brand and 'maintain continuity'. :1eye;)

    Just read that Vauxhall Motors FC have resigned from the English Conference North http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/vauxhallmotorsfc/news/club-statement-1172986.html Can see some parallels with Rangers in that statement. Don't like to see football teams drop out but with works teams they are less likely to flog a dead horse than a straight forward football club staggering from one season to the next.

    The same old regurgitated crap from non-Rangers supporters.

    Manchester United plc., is a company incorporated in the Cayman Islands;

    Chelsea are owned by Chelsea Village plc.; and

    Abu Dhabi United Group (amongst others) own Manchester City.

    This is quite normal in sport. It happens all over the world. However, for some strange reason, this knowleedge has not reached Scotland. Is there something in the Scottish mentality that can't grasp this? What is it that makes some Scots so thick, when it comes to something so simple? Is it bigotry, jealousy, or obsession or all three?

    I think it's all three.

  2. So Celtic are at it as well.

    http://www.dailyreco...86908-23913366/

    Well well well. Who would have thought that? All those hospitals that coud have been built too. Dear me.

    Now do these Celtic players have their contributions docked off their wages by the club?

    Not just players I believe, but also Celtic people involved in the SFA and SPL. Well well well.

    Delivering judgements on others, and talking of sporting integrity.

  3. That's a 2yr gap, which is only 1yr more than waiting for them to get 3 back-to-back promotion, and no more than if reconstruction went ahead and reduced the number of tiers to 3. Why would that be a desirable option given need to indemnify SFL and still pay Settlement?

    EDIT: Unless the suggestion is Rangers would be parachuted directly into SPL1 which is getting us into even grubbier circles of corrupted-ness.

    Don't put it past them.

  4. alex thomson@alextomo WARNING. Club chairman "Everyone in that room heard that Stewart Regan informed Charles Green that there's no way "Rangers" will be in D3 .

    Expand

    I've said it repeatedly. The SFA and the SPL will get their way. They are corrupt to the core.

    They want the Rangers money. It's as simple as that.

    SPL club chairmen are hypocrites. They probably booted Rangers out, in full knowledge that it would be reversed.

  5. Good.

    Not going to the SPL's masterplan. They must be absolutely sick.

    We can now sit back, and watch the SPL and it's clubs, uphold their "sporting integrity" morals.

    Watch the devious move to re-structure the leagues, so that Rangers are re-admitted to the top flight the following season.

    Or, watch the SFA declare it null and void and admit Rangers to the SPL.

    Good to hear Bill Longmuir dispense with the hollow "sporting integrity" phrase. Sporting integrity is now in direpute.

    Well done to the SFL, they played it straight right down the line.

  6. The SFL need to be a bit more clever here.

    We'll soon be hearing that the SFL have been UNREASONABLE - bocking progressive moves to re-structure the game, endangering TV contracts, acting irresponsibly, not voting, holding the SPL to ransom, endangering the game in Scotland, people losing jobs, nit picking etc etc etc.

    So the SPL will state they had no option but to revert to the staus quo. Rangers back in the SPL but with sanctions to satisfy the hypocrites..........

    The fans? Forget them, they always do.

  7. I think the comments that SFL will say NO, and SFA will pur Newco straight back into SPL, is a very dangerous possibility. Its becoming clear that the silence from SPL is covering something. Just remember what has been said, the bullying and downright disgusting threats, MUST lead you to believe that you cant trust ANYTHING that ALL of the guys involved are saying/have said.

    I happily watch the carnage and meltdown WHEN Newco get put back into SPL. Agree with some comments that why arent Dundee/Dunfermline already in SPL? And why is the vote for that being taken AFTER SFL vote.

    I think Regan, Cockwomble et al are FULLY expecting a rebuff and are preparing for Newco in SPL.

    SPL clubs will say they had no choice as they said NO, and it was foisted onto them by SFA/SFL.

    Enjoy the blood on the carpet lads!!

    Anything can happen with these two clowns in charge, and the sporting hypocrites in the SPL backing them.

    Another scenario is Rangers back into the SPL. Points sanction that means they can't win the League. Tweak the points deduction, so that they stay in the top six, giving SKY the 4 Old Firm games.

    That keeps Celtic happy, the clubs who qualify for Europe happy, and the bank managers happy.

    There are a lot of hypocrites who will take that.

  8. Was doing fine up to "unless".

    What I don't get still is why the Dunfermline/Dundee issue is being discussed along with this. This should have been settled the minute the SPL said no to Sevco. There is no link between the two issues now.

    It leaves them the option to re-admit Rangers to the SPL, if the SFL don't play ball.

    I'm not kidding, I think they are devious enough.

    Regan and Doncaster should be dismissed.

    BUT, who is going to dismiss them ? The sporting hypocrites in the SPL, who have landed the SFL in this mess ?

  9. Why are they very confident? By all accounts the vote is going to go massively against them. Could it possibly be that the outcome has already been decided DESPITE the vote. TBH I firmly believe that the decision for Div 1 (and much more besides) has already been made. I sincerely hope I am wrong, but the entire tactic so far by the SFA has been to drive a Chieftan Tank the wrong way up a one way street.

    Yes, the vote is going massively against them.

    BUT, is it a secret ballot ?

    OR, is the ultimate decision to be made by the clubs, or by the board ?

    I remember from my Trades Union days, going into meetings and securing the full and unequivocal support of the members. But in private they voted the other way. I also remember when that support materialised, how the management moved the goalposts to get their way.

    I have similar feelings about this vote.

  10. Please list Rangers punishments.

    Without being pedantic I'd say these were Rangers punishments:

    a) a 10 point deduction;

    b) banned from Europe for three years;

    c) fined £160,000;

    d) a transfer embargo; and

    e) refused membership of the SPL.

    a) and b) were in the rule book;

    c) I think is being paid in installments;

    d) was illegally applied by the governing bodies; and

    e) has been applied.

  11. Rangers were punished in the name of "sporting integrity." Will anybody at the forthcoming meeting use this phrase. Because if Rangers are not placed in SPL 3, then there are a load of hypocrites in the SPL, and now I'm beginning to think the SFL too.

    For all these clubs to claim the moral high ground of sporting integrity, and then wangle a deal, that goes after Rangers income generation, is the height of hypocrisy.

    What an embarrassment for Scotland.

    Whilst we're talking about wangling, what are the chances that Rangers will be drawn against Celtic in both of the cups ? :ph34r:

  12. If Rangers go into SFL 3 the big losers are the current SPL clubs. Their budgets are bloated because of SKY and Rangers money. If Rangers go to SFL 3, then that will be a boon for the clubs in that division. Assuming Rangers escape that division, clubs in the other two divisions will subsequenlty receive their share of the "Rangers money".

    The SFL could strike a TV deal and create more revenue.

    Rangers bugdet will be cut to size, I don't think they've got many high earners left anyway. They'll be forced to live within their means. They'll have a share issue in a couple of years, and generate millions.

    In the meantime the SPL will be a one horse race and worthless as a competition. Clubs on bloated budgets could fall by the wayside. Who wil be the next SPL side in SFL 3 ?:D

  13. I find this part of the Cyde statement astonishing:

    There were a few new things learned in the meeting, not least that the rules of the SFL would allow any club accepted into the SFL, by a simple majority, to be placed in any division. The rules do not state, nor imply, that they must join at the bottom tier, only custom and practice around good governance and integrity has seen teams join in the bottom tier. In addition, the attendees at the meeting were left in absolutely no doubt whatsoever by Stewart Regan that if the SPL clubs voted to allow a Newco into the SPL then it would be blocked by the SFA refusing to transfer the SFA membership. It was however caveated well enough to make it less than an absolute statement. The meeting was full of implied actions and outcomes, the use of clever language when delivering the speeches allows anyone to defend with ‘that is not what I said'. However, nobody will have left the meeting with anything other than the very clear messages being put across.

    "...left in absolutely no doubt..." and "...caveated well enough to make it less than a full statement..." and "...full of implied actions and outcomes..."

    absolutely no doubt = less than a full statement = implied

    Is Stewart Regan as clever as this? I think he's a bumbling idiot ? Is someone else writing Stewart's speeches ?

  14. Sporting Integrity = Rangers fans want to re-start in SFL 3 (according to their own poll), fans of other clubs want Rangers to re-start in SFL3, and the chairmen of the SFL clubs want Rangers to re-start in SFL3. An over whelming majority.

    Sporting hypocrisy = the SPL chairmen stating that they want Rangers punished, but really want to keep them within arms reach, to collect TV and gate money. Sporting hypocrisy of the highest order.

  15. People on this thread working themselves into a frenzy at the moment. I believe there are enough good, honest and intelligent people in the SFL clubs to do the right thing. Do we really think they're a bunch of simpletons that are going to believe everything Doncaster and Longmuir tell them. The signs are they have more sense and more integrity.

    Equally in the SPL I'm sure there are meetings and lobbying going on behind closed doors, anyone who doesn't believe that is naive. But colours have been pinned to the mast by too many club chairmen now. Can't see them being swayed.

    Stop being so fucking negative. We have nothing to fear but fear itself.

    However, you must admit, if these loud mouthed chairmen go back on their words, it will be a lamentable display of hypocrisy. They would have been better advised to keep their mouths shut. Took a very deep breath and thought of a strategy that would best suit their clubs finances and their fans. They've painted themselves into a corner.

    I think they'll be looking for a get out clause - await the result of the police investigation, the banks have put them under pressure, sponsors are not happy etc etc.

    I just have a feeling they're going to bottle it.
