Thought I'd wait for the highlights to see what I thought I saw - yep, an unbelievably obvious and blatant handball in the box just at the end. I was so sure it was a penalty that when it wasn't given I thought I must have got it wrong. No, it's exactly what I thought, the defender reaches his left arm out across his body and blocks the shot with his forearm. It's *right* in front of the referee too.

The highlights didn't show the barge in the back that looked like a penalty earlier on.

Those two incidents aside, Rose's failure to turn control, and eventually dominance, into clear-cut chances did for us. Ogilvie, McMullen (then Simpson) and Allan imposed themselves in the midfield - to the fella above, that's where Albion Rovers' midfield went, they were up against three better players. If you take the officiating out of it Albion Rovers deserved their win because they defended well and took the one chance they needed - though a couple of their guys could have cost their team the win through failing to capitalise on breakaways and put the game to bed.

One of the stand-out differences I've noticed between the Lowland League and the East of Scotland Premier is the refereeing is notably worse. I don't know why that would be, I know the LL has a higher category of ref so maybe they're the worst of the refs that want to be John Beaton. There are refs doing North Juniors Championship and North Caley games on their own that are better than the standard LL ref. Whenever there is physical contact between players they just give a free kick to the first one that hits the ground.

I hate coming away from a game complaining about the ref but that was an absolute howler that means Albion Rovers are 2 points behind us instead of 5.

Ref then comes into club for after match munchies, rub our noses in it

Referee was grade 1 ref Gavin Duncan.   To say that he was lenient would be an understatement.  Once the players knew the cards were having a quiet day both teams decided to take the P.   Really broke the game up which maybe suited both teams in the heat..

(Gavin certainly would have had his cards as he forgot them in a Livingston game two year ago and made the Daily Record LOL)

And certainly didn't forget them at lithgae a couple of weeks ago, red one out after 30 seconds

I really felt for VoL as they were totally out their depth and the gulf was far greater than the final result.

So it was to their credit that they didn't resort to dark arts or stop trying to play the game in the right way.

The hammer throwers from Rosyth could learn a lesson on the art of playing the game like that rather than the assaults they dished out early in the season

The slowed down replay of the 2nd goal gives some context how sweet a hit it was. As still looked a rocket...!!!

We were directly behind Cammy just inside our half, what a strike watching the bend he put on it and the power.

A contender for goal of the season?

Sorry if I've offended anyone that thinks it should always go to a midfielder or striker

Those highlights don't do the second goal justice.

From behind that's as good a goal as ive seen all season, from the second Thomson hit it, it was going in.

For a mid week that was a cracking away support in a crowd of around 250-300 with a lot of those being travelling fans.

Yep we travelled from the west 128 mile round trip madness from fixtures man

Omg #7 take a breath and your beating with some dignity...

First half beggers deployed a solid back 4, destroyers in midfield and pace up front who were hit with one or max 2 touch from anywhere on the pitch.

Your destroyers ( gemmell, haa haa fell down if breathed on needing attention5) stopped our passing game and your needed of a map and compass to find your midfield in possession

2nd half rose management sorted the problem and a ridiculous challenge from your #5 was the start of an easy win, we were comfortable to see the game out

Another LL team dispatched and but for the mess of the leagues for years Bo'ness would be back in the Eos..... am right thinking they are the only eos winners * (awarded by covid) to not progress through into the SPFL?

    Hail the Gallant!

Yep, won promotion by default and done nothing since.

    We're coming to get you.

    Natural Order. Fact.
