Most of the stuff I see online about them is how they play against pub teams, so if you call that progress crack on.
Was that a pub team they played today ?

The club and players have never been the problem this season. Well, other than some silly avoidable player suspensions.
Again, the players have never really been the problem this season. The recruitment wasn’t even the issue. It was the constant and often needless tinkering with the team. I don’t think it’s at all wild to suggest that the lack of continuity in the starting 11 is directly linked to the lack of consistency in performances and points.
Tick tock, much like your ticker.
Mind when you walked away from your team Auld Gravy Blood? You’re a laughing stock. Stick to throwing your considerable weight around your own team’s (when it suits) thread.
What a crass comment to make about someone's health, think before you post

It was a surprise they didn't finish ahead of Whitburn or Syngenta last season but fair play to them. Definitely a team going places
Hopefully Armadale can follow them as their improvements off the park over the last year or so have been nothing short of spectacular and have managed to keep a very loyal and supportive (most of the time!) crowd which the others around them seems to have lost recently
Some set up at volunteer park
The club and all involved should be proud of the spectacular improvements

The league wasn’t lost on that game we all know it was over the season and over the season they weren’t good enough. Different story this year but how will they fair next season with 2 of the front 3 moving on
Easy to attract good players to a club that is successful?

Some of these Big teams poor attendances will have an adverse effect on recruitment and wage budgets.

Bear in mind that Elgin getting relegated and Bonnyrigg Rose promoted would mean no relegation from the LL. Recent form at the foot of League Two is making that scenario look more likely than it did earlier in the season.
I didn't realise that

Earlier in the season it looked like syngentas to lose
I think they lost their 2nd manager a Couple of months ago that wouldn't have helped, but they look to be a strong side going by their recent match v Spartans.
But whoever responded earlier in the season to the post after beating today's opponents earlier this season with 'another 6 points ' might not be so confident.

Friday 18th February 2022
Edinburgh College 2-2 Pumpherston (at the National Indoor Stadium, Oriam)
Saturday 19th February 2022
Bo'ness Athletic 2-1 Syngenta
Fauldhouse United P-P West Calder United
Stoneyburn P-P Livingston United
Whitburn 6-1 Bathgate Thistle
After last night's novelty a dramatic day - as Bo'ness Athletic won the big match at home to Syngenta and go top while Whitburn steamrolled their game with Bathgate to move in behind them.
League games reduce significantly in tempo for next few weeks as King Cup and League Cup sectional ties predominate.
Good time to take stock and consider how matters are poised for the run-in.
Bo'ness Athletic are latest to acquire the driving seat, sat 1pt clear with 1 game-in-hand. However both Whitburn and Armadale are tucked in just 1pt and 2pts behind respectively. We have to drop 7pts to find Syngenta who have gradually sunk as season progressed. They'll be looking to turn their 3 games-in-hand into vital points.
Remaining "head-to-heads":
Sat 7th May Bo'ness Athletic v Whitburn Syngenta v Armadale Thistle
Sat 21st May Armadale Thistle v Bo'ness Athletic
no dates yet Armadale Thistle v Whitburn Syngenta v Bo'ness Athletic
Whitburn v Bo'ness AthleticWhat a cracking title race this is developing into.
The top 4 sides are all quality and have all already beaten each other this season.
Makes a very interesting run indeed, nobody could call it at this stage.

Been plenty progress as we lost lots of games at the start of the season and our early season form would’ve seen us languishing down the bottom of the table. However, much like VOL recently, half a dozen personnel changes made a big difference.
Who did VOL since last week when stirling uni beat them 5-0

Define plenty
26 points behind Bonnyrigg Rose is plenty.

Maybe make that yer last post as well then if it’s gonna be a nonsense overreaction and negativity.
Aye Bo’ness were far from great today, but we’ve been on a good run of form recently and that’s the first bad result in a while. What also needs to not be overlooked is that Vale of Leithen side are much changed, battled all game and defended brilliantly.
Guy can post all he wants.
Overreaction
Your side just got beat by a side who up until today had 1 (one) point from 21 games whilst conceding 116 goals.
That's a shocker

Bo'ness Athletic 2. Glenafton 0. Final score. Superb result for the Conference X team.
Thought the win against Gartcairn was a shock but that's an outstanding result against a very good Glenafton side

Cumbernauld Colts 4-3 Tynecastle (aet, FT 3-3)
Weekend starts with a major shock as Bo'ness Athletic of the East First Division Conference X eliminates Glenafton of the West Premier.
Tynecastle of the East Premier also give Cumbernauld Colts of the Lowland a real fright.Gartcairn now Glenafton don't think anyone will take them lightly now

Aye no doubt you’ll have mentioned that about 1000 times when you had them in hospitality.
And they’d maybe come along because it’s their home town team, it’s the big Rangers team they support first and foremost and because they’re not that petty or thick and know the BU vote was based solely on footballing principles not any anti-Rangers agenda.
Precisely.
I think the two old firm colts sides have been a welcome addition to the league.
It's raised the exposure and certainly added to footfall of support to clubs grounds including locals who won't usually visit local sides.

In Brechin's case because they train in Grangemouth (assume that's still the case?) and have tended to be a Central Belt team in recent times in player recruitment terms. Think that's the norm for Angus SPFL clubs with the possible exception of Montrose when they were finishing close to bottom.
The concern rightly or wrongly appears to be about what happens if they move to a more local based squad in an HL context. This has been explained in many newspaper articles and interviews. Having Craig Levein and Andy Kirk on board does not point to a low budget community approach but more of the same in an effort to bounce back ASAP.
Not sure the HL is actually easier to get out of at this point although it probably will be 5 to 10 years down the road. There are still several well-funded clubs near the top even with Cove out of the picture now.
Never understood the recruitment of levein, unless the club is flush with money.
There isn't alot for him to advise on in a full time capacity in this league if honest?
Perhaps he's here to attract players who love playing in a 4-6-0 formation

I think to some extent Max and Bo’ness were stuck between a rock and a hard place. It’s no big secret that Bo’ness don’t have as big a budget as some other sides and like any other league competition for the top players is fierce, but our squad was quite simply short on bodies and the numbers needed boosting. Then the furlough drama at Camelon meant a bunch of their players became available.
Personally, despite the Camelon lot having not panned out as we’d have hoped, I can fully understand why Bo’ness signed them. A bunch of younger guys who showed signs of being a potentially good side under Herdy at Camelon; so in that sense they all might’ve been a worthwhile gamble. However it seems the step-up to Lowland might’ve been too much for some, or they just aren’t ready yet. There’s also the case that some might’ve been able to make the step-up eventually, but just couldn’t cement themselves in the BU team and didn’t want to be sat on the bench every week. Which is fair enough.
That’s my take on it.
I'm pretty sure Boness Utds budget is far more than many sides in this league surely ?
Would be interesting to see a comparison of sides wage budgets

He was offered to Boness athletic as part of the deal to bring the forward to Linlithgow back he didn’t want to leave Linlithgow and why would he with the wages he gets and signing a 3 year deal
I was talking about United, but surely if he was being offered elsewhere by the Rose is not a great sign.
Decent player as well

Good to see Herdy being allowed to throw money at putting the Camelon side that weren’t quite good enough to challenge for the EOS title back together.
If Skinner is away to Lithgy, the price might’ve been right, but it’s a bit lame any player who wants to step down a level when they’ve been a regular in the side and playing very well in the LL. Would hope the Rose had to pay over the odds for him but have my doubts.
Any possibility of Ruari Marlennan going the opposite direction?

I think this yoda guy is a united plant to cause ill feeling towards the other Boness club.
How are they 'parasites' ? If you don't want them play in your ground, put them out?
Unless the ground doesn't belong to to you then they have every right to play there?
What REALLY surprises me is how the two clubs are not one? And going by the comments of a certain few here the bitterness and jealousy is from one committee
