  1. Bairnstrust, in our last announcement, intimated as part of their ongoing structural changes that we will be holding a Q&A session and fans forum soon. We are pleased to announce that this will be held on Thursday 27th of September starting at 7pm.

The venue and guest speakers will be announced in the near future. Anyone who is interested in coming along, please put this date in your diary now.

We will be releasing more details of a number of the changes being made within the Trust before the launch night over the coming weeks.

We hope as many of you can attend on the night, we will endeavour to make it an informative and enjoyable evening.

  2. Can I ask if you are giving the official Bairnstrust view everytime you post on this board?

Or are they your own personal views?

    Just curious.

Bairnstrust are united in their views as to how the club should have voted. Our posts on this site are merely factual or reiterate what we have already said publically

  3. It was meant to be a secret vote to allow Newco into the SPL. Fan pressure forced the majority of clubs to announce in advance how they were going to vote.

There was plenty of fan pressure (along with the pathetic SPL/SFA pressure) that forced many SFL clubs to reveal their vote (before and after). I can only assume we as Falkirk fans didn't exert enough pressure on our board.

I've got to believe that any Yes vote was made due to a lack of awareness of fans true feelings. The alternative is either FFC fans would have been happy as a whole to accept Servco into Div 1 with nothing concrete in return or our board treat us like fucking mugs.

    Either alternative is fairly grim.

We can tell you 100% what we believed the fans view was on this situation.

They were presented in person the results of the fan poll we ran the week prior to the meeting which had 90%+ of fans wishing to see Newco Rangers in Division 3.

  4. Thanks for the reply. I have no problem at all with how you have gone about this and I actually have a lot of sympathy for the position you have found yourself in here - you can't be held responsible for what the club eventually did.

I think it's certain that had this happened a year ago, Bairnstrust would have quietly dropped the matter, so kudos to you for sticking to your guns.

Thanks for the understanding and support.

It is a difficult position we are in however there is a determination that Bairnstrust becomes a more effective voice and focus for Falkirk Fans.

There are a lot of things going on in the background with the organisation and we plan to expand on those ideas soon.

This issue has slowed that down a little however we have a clear focus as to the direction we are heading.

We hope that the support will be supportive, however we are under no illusion that because of the problems the organisation had in the past it will take a lot of work to rebuild the fans confidence.

Hopefully our actions during this time will start to do that.

The Trust can be an effective voice within the club if it is managed well and represents the broad view of our supporters.

  5. Out of interest, what is the hold up?

    1) Have they told you how they voted but asked you not to divulge it beyond the boardroom and tell the fans what happened?

    2) Have they told you that, despite you being a board member, they have no intention of telling you whether Falkirk voted Yes or No?

    3) Have they not in fact returned your calls/emails?

None of the three are of course acceptable, but I'm curious as to which they have gone for. My money is obviously on 1.

The Chairman returns from holiday on Friday and has promised to brief the Trust on his return.

We expect to understand the position from that meeting.

After that we will make a public statement.

Problably not what you wish to hear but the Chairman has promised this so we will give him that courtesy.

We repeat however that we will not change our view on how the club should have voted. No matter what we are told.

  6. I don't have a vote on this as I don't go anyway and have no intention of going back, but were that not the case, I would be happier with Falkirk voting "No" and Rangers being in Div One due to the votes of others, than Falkirk voting "Yes" and their shameful scumbaggery not mattering because enough other clubs have a conscience and a backbone.

The only thing Falkirk could affect was their own vote - how everyone else voted was up to them. I don't agree with the "ah well, the end result was fine, so it doesn't matter how the verdict was arrived at" chat (not that I'm saying you are suggesting that - others have though).

I notice that Bairnstrust have gone silent on this matter also... after their statement of the other day, are they really going to climbdown and accept not being told what way the club voted? That will be hideous. dry.gif

I don't agree with that either. An SPL2 would have been a vastly different proposal to the laughable one the clubs were asked to consider.

Falkirk made it clear they were willing to negotiate in their horrible earlier statements about Newco, so voting "No" wouldn't have prevented an SPL2 invite. There are actually not that many clubs who realistically could join an SPL2.

Bairnstrust will not climbdown on this issue.

  7. Bairnstrust have taken the decision to cancel their monthly meeting at the Stadium on July 16 for the following reasons:

    1. The Scottish game is still in a state of flux and the ramifications of the SFL vote on Friday are still rumbling on with no resolution.

    2. Our club has been widely accused of voting to parachute Newco Rangers into Division 1. At this juncture despite pressing the club for clarification we still do not know which way they voted or if indeed they will make a public statement.

    3. The Club were unable to send a Director to attend.

    4. Bairnstrust believe that it is best to hold a meeting when everyone is possession of as many facts as we can obtain and the club Board can be represented.

I trust you understand why we have taken this action. We will announce the date of the meeting when we have a much clearer picture and when the club can be represented. We envisage that this could be later this week or early next.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
