  1. Seriously though guys, why didn't Rangers just pay back the HMRC? When you think about it, it sounds ridiculous that they chose not to. They could have come to an agreement to pay back 10m per year over 10 years (the same amount of time they accrued the debt i.e. didn't pay taxes). HMRC would be happy to come to a legally binding agreement to get their money back. They'd still be in the SPL, they'd still be strong enough to finish second, they'd still be the old rangers with their history, still competing in europe. When you consider they paid Duff & Phelps ~5.5 m on administration fees they could easily have achieved this. Rangers could have been playing all sorts of glamour ties to raise funds and most of all they could have just been honest with their fans.

Instead, they chose to liquidate and thought everything would be hunky-dorey. Morons.

It's actually worse than that, the same year the first assessment from HMRC for their EBT scheme landed on the Ibrox doormat, Rangers spent £18 million on players after getting pumped out of Europe by Kaunas. Now, call me silly, but if I was one of those fly faluting business men in charge of Rangers, I'd have been putting money aside to cover the bill which just landed on my doorstep not spending 3.5 million on the Ulster Gazelle.

  2. St mirren statement from last night makes it clear its not just sky that is the deal breaker. SG said that some sponsors will terminate, some will.renegotiate and some will carry on regardless. Clubs not allowed to name individual sponsors.

It seems crazy to me that even when.clubs are coming out and saying that their future is in very real danger still the fans won't listen.

"Sporting integrity" will mean f**k all when your response to rangers' cheating puts your club out of business while rangers still exist.

There has to be a balance between punishment and personal survival.

The game is meant to have rules. If they don't apply across the board then why bother with the game?

We now know the 'diddies' can't survive without either side of the old firm for more than a year. If sevco go to the 1st division, what's to stop them putting 12 players on the park? (no ref jokes, seriously playing 12 players on the pitch), the rules of football suggest that would mean a 3-0 victory to the opposition, but Rangers HAVE to get promoted to the SPL for 2013/14 so that rule couldn't be applied.

On a more serious note, if there's a playoff involving sevco for an SPL spot next year would anyone think that game would be fairly adjudicated? Anyone at all?

If the rules can be set aside for one club, there's no game. They may as well hand the players steel chairs and ask them to go at it...after all it would improve the ratings and that's all that matters.

  3. I tell you what, if it's going to be the 1st Division. I'd rather they just got put in the SPL with 3 years of real sanctions (preferably both points, say 15 and financial no TV revenue or prize money) and them accepting the transfer ban this year. See how the Rangers fans (those who'll turn up in that situation) respond to a season of their crappy squad getting pumped every which way from sunday from the 'diddies'

Personally I doubt sevco lasts a season. I don't think the money is there.

That way the SFL gets to keep it's self-respect while the SPL loses what little it had. As long as real measured reconstruction remains on the table then that's better than the SFL selling their souls for the good of the game.

The whole farce could be avoided, if the SFL clubs simply said yesterday, if you make the decision to put them out of your league structure, they'll have to enter at the bottom of ours. If the SPL want to cave then fine.

  4. Well then that's that. If Turnbull is to be believed the SFL clubs will cave and we'll get Rangers getting away with shedding over £120 million debt with a slap on the wrist of one season away from the top flight. Make no mistake this is operation get Rangers 'back where they belong'

And the absolutely certainty that the game in this country is a fixed meaningless parade. How anyone could actually watch an SFL1 game next year where Rangers are playing I don't know, since we all know they NEED to get up at the first time of asking, can you think how blatant the cheating will be. God help us all if they get into a playoff.

  5. This might seem far-fetched but I wonder if Bomber Brown has inadvertently rumbled Green and H/D.

On the deeds thing? I doubt it, on the registrars of Scotland website, there is a pending transfer application for the deeds to all Rangers property (the training ground, ibrox and related buildings) from Rangers Football Club LTD to Sevco Scotland. It's not unusual for actual deeds not to be updated online for a couple of weeks (it's a quasi-government department)

The Ibrox transfer of deed application is number 12GLA16376 in case you're curious.

  6. What is all the pish about RANGERS and EBTs'?

Dont you know that Rangers have been found guilty of NOTHING yet , that means, for the dull /ignorant/daft among you, (i.e. most), that they are still officially INNOCENT - its called legal due process in case you didn't know . Im sure at least some of you will be acquainted with the justice system as 'the accused' but you maybe didnt realise that presumption of innocence is the rule.

You really cant make up sanctions based on what might happen- these kind of things get you into the Court of Session- Thats maybe something you will maybe hear more of in the coming weeks and months.

Still that doesn't stop anyone on this forum making Rangers guilty, although the logic of 'if you say it often enough' seems to hold sway here, rather than looking at facts. But its ony Rangers so it doesn't count eh? Wouldn't like to be on trial with you on a jury.

This must rank as the most historical period in your Clubs' histories with fans posting one- handed in their bedrooms for almost 5 months(Jeez you must have blisters) - but seeing as most of you dont have much to be historical about I suppose its only natural to seize/grasp any opportunity.

When the records are being written in a few years how many of you will still be there to be included? Hearts , Hibs ,maybe Dundee Utd, Celtic obviously ,but after that ................?????

Maybe if you supported your SPL teams with the same energy as you save for hating the Rangers then you might not be heading for extinction, but having said that with the numbers you turn up in for your home games it might look as if you are nearly in extiction already. You are kid-ons. FFS we can draw more for a Protest outside the main stand on a Thursday night.

Blue Square teams are better supported. Pollok and Petershill have had more in the Junior Cup than some of you get for SPL gates.

FFS look at Dumfermline- when they didnt get their split of the Scottish Cup Receipts they put their players on reduced wages in a matter of days , how many of the rest are going down that route now?

Tell you what guys, make sure you buy those Season Tickets -as you are duty bound to do now after blackmailing your own clubs , but having said that maybe you should be buying 2 each to compensate for when Celtic fans boycott your grounds ,after your clubs try to force new voting system changes through.

Keep that money rolling into your Clubs guys- Real fans dont mind doing that.- It might look like a total waste of money seeing as how you will still win f*"k all ,but you should be comforted in the knowledge that Sporting Integrity is never cheap.

I will be keeping my eyes open for your teams on their way down (or maybe out)and be sure that we will be standing by to lend a hand- You know, it will be like a breath of air to be away from you after being in the lavvy that is the SPL.

Still the stench of hypocricy and cowardice wont be noticable to any of your clubs seeing as how they all smell the same.

A silly thought to leave you with...What if your Clubs have been ripping the pish out of you just get the Season Ticket money and then they go right ahead and re-admit Rangers to the SPL using some crazy excuse such as Legal Issues? - will it be too late to get a refund? It would be a shame to have spent your benefits and not be able to get the money back.

It probably wont happen but who can tell in these difficult economic times.?

Actually with a tax tribunal you actually have to prove your innocence, it's not HMRC's job to prove guilt. It's an appeal of a bill which has been raised and sent. HMRC have already 'found them guilty', sent a bill, and the club contested it. They have to prove their innocence, ie that the bill raised and sent is not valid. It's not a criminal proceeding so there is no presumption of innocence. In most cases unless it will bankrupt you, you actually have to pay the bill before the appeal.

Any other erroneous nonsense you want to bring up?
