  1. Espin are definitely pulling the plug on Scottish football though more to do with their own financial problems. Still they have a get out clause.

So that will be the first short fall for SPL clubs

Rubbish, ESPN are part of Disney and has more cash to spend on sport than Sky do. Oh and even the Sun are reporting today that they are happy to stay and may add to their current deal.

Amazing how things change, just last week we were told ESPN would pull out of Scottish football altogether.

    Extract from article

In a statement they said: “ESPN is proud to be a broadcast partner of the SPL and a supporter of Scottish football. “We have held consistently that the SPL, SFA, SFL and their collective clubs make the decisions about Scottish football and we have looked to be supportive throughout the current difficult circumstances.

“We want to have a continued relationship with Scottish football.

“We look forward to having fruitful discussions on that basis.

“Other speculation is irrelevant, as we are only now engaging in the next steps of this process.”

  3. How about this scenario

    1) SPL clubs vote 'no' to transfer SPL share from oldco to newco

    2) SFL clubs vote 'no' to newco entering into division 1

    3) oldco gives share back to SPL, pending liquidation

    4) SPL has a unoccupied share

    5) SPL clubs vote to give the share to newco

    Far fetched?

Very far fetched as the first vote today gives Sevco membership of the SFL. Once they are a member there would have to be another vote for them to be allowed to resign. That is why the third vote is needed today as either Dundee or Dunfermline need to resign

  4. So, all those fans making repeated threats to never come back to any game ever if Rangers are put in the first....will that also mean you never post on this or any thread ever again?

As much as people are (rightly) LOLing at those on RM this read is looking dangerously like reactionary early threads on RM. Full of indignation, full of threats, full of pumped up rhetoric, full of personal insults to any who doesn't hold their dystopian view. Jim Goodwin came out and said he really loved playing Rangers and wanted them in the first...this obviously made him the biggest c**t ever.

I'll leave out both this thread and Rangers lashing the MSM because that's appropriate either way.

And the biggest crook in the whole story? Giovanni De Stefano. By a fucking mile. Take a bow lad.

Deary me, I thought I was pissed tonight
