Natural order has resumed.

Yes we need another goal scorer but I think the goals will be spread throughout the team this season, Queen's have midfielders who are more than capable of scoring and defenders who are capable at corners and set pieces.

Not a great result tonight but having 7 players unavailable is hardly ideal.

Thanks Rouky.
Queen’s are the side I’ve been most back and forward with, been a little underwhelmed with the signings so far but if Bartley can utilise his connections to grab a few gems in the loan market I can see them doing well.
So far Marvin has utilised the loan market well with Johnson and McClelland coming in on loan from hibs. I'm presuming McClelland and Bryden have played together before which bodes well for a good central defence partnership when Bryden returns from injury.

4. Montrose
5. QoS
6. Alloa
7. Stirling
8. Kelty
9. Annan
10. Edinburgh
Good podcast.
I think Queen's will do better than expected, I suspect Marvin's plan is to spread the goals throughout the team, he is hoping to bring in another 4/5 players. With 5(?) Players out injured, it is quite possible they could be there or there abouts.

Bring back the grass pitch.

Queen's signing defender Jack Brydon on a 2 and half year deal from Hibs apparently, according to the Edinburgh Evening News

Why was't Gibson kept on as a player? He was the best defender we had. The following statement suggests his results as manager were not good enough.
Chairman, Billy Hewitson said “There is no doubt that Wullie is Queen of the South through and through and wants the best for the club. He is a young manager who deserved the opportunity, but football is a results-based business,

The mass booing at half time was a bit over the top was it not?
Ok it wasn't a pleasure going in half time two goals down but it wasn't like we were utter turd and the goals conceded were self inflicted punished on the break.
We were playing one of the best teams in the division with half the midfield out ffs.
No.

Ruth? He's barely featured tbf but in the short spells he's had he doesn't look better than Paton or Reilly.
I think he offers more up front than Paton and it could possibly work with Reilly if they had the support from the midfield. I have doubts about Paton, his first touch is awful at times.

This team and board are lucky we arnt like a Falkirk or Dunfermline etc and hound players or boo them/managers beyond belief for the shite we have seen at Palmerston last 3 or 4 years. Support very tame at getting properly stuck in. Now though folk have had enough.
Time for Hewitson to step aside, I think it's highly possible that someone would be interested in coming on board if Hewitson wasn't chairman. Queens are punching below there capabilities.

Absolutely awful. No fight or passion until it's to late. Pointless playing Cochrane. Struggling to take any positives from today.

Today we couldn't even get someone to do twitter updates.
Far smaller clubs from far smaller towns regularly put out tweets during the game, match reports, and highlights packages. All of those things are provided as standard at our level.
Is there something rotten about our club that makes people not want to get involved, or do you blame the Dumfries public for lacking skills literally everywhere else has?
As to the performance today - successive squads have had clear issues with playing at home. It can't be solely the pitch as that is shit for everyone. I wonder if it's the psychological aspect of never being in Dumfries except making a long drive down here once a fortnight for a game all the locals will hound you for losing. Just a guess but someone in charge should be looking into the reasons. I am sure they are not, though.
I'm pretty sure if you look at the board, the answer is there, I know of people who won't be at Palmerston until Hewitson is out the door and businesses who won't entertain doing business with Queen's due to Hewitson's presence, but even with this I would have thought someone would be willing.

Queen's have built a team that is completely short in height upfront and the midfield barring Wilson who is hopefully on his way back from injury. This will be a major problem as the season progresses

Quite incredible to score 7 in queen's last 3 games with both Reilly and Ruth currently not match fit, it looks even more promising for the season when we have a full squad. Hats of to the management team for gathering a good squad.

Paton was hot and cold, great attitude though and someone who will improve, got another years deal for us. Nditi I was good to begin with then crap and never got a look in towards end of seasonNditi, started the season well then.....prone to the odd mistake and being out of position, give him the chance and he has 3 red cards in him a season.

Highlight-reaching the cup final, Connolly's goal against Partick
Low point- Innes Cameron, some guy called Chima and Allan Johnston's ability to play football and not have an attempt on target for 3 games

Football club gets relegated, hardly anything new, it's known risk to every side, every season. That's football.
Buy a shirt sponsor raffle ticket, win the first prize, it's the known prize and has been for umpteen years. It's not as if this is the first draw and his company won, or his company has won every year since it's inception.
That's the thing, there was no need for Queen's to be relegated, if the board had a decent set of balls and sacked Johnston at the appropriate time and not at the last minute, Gibson and Murray could have sorted a plan in and brought in some loan players before the window shut, having to rely on the worst forward line(excluding Fitzpatrick) queen's have had for years wasn't going to end well.

I saw some folk on the SRE complain about the stewards (for once not ours!!!) What was that about? That "condemned" area or something else?
Havent seen any highlights yet but did Gibson think he was playing ice hockey if he thought he could grab/handle the ball when in play?
Gibson was concerned the ball had gone soft and thought it was more appropriate to test the pressure with his hands

Well I have to say that bizarrely I’m sad to see you guys go down. I like Palmerston, great view and always a good atmosphere even though I’ve been countless times and never seen us win. However I absolutely hate your artificial pitch with players slipping all over the place and the uneven bounces.
On the game today I think a draw was a fair result. But some of the finishing from both sides today was grim.Agreed the pitch is absolutely awful. Sometimes the ball will bounce natural, other times it won't, as you say players are falling over when they wouldn't on grass. I seriously think you will be joining us in the 1st, Dunfermline will beat queens, McCall will want to beat Ayr to keep up the momentum of winning for the play offs and I think Airdrie are more than capable of beating anyone of the bottom 3 in the championship.
