Tbh, that doesn’t sound particularly unusual. Searches and checks at football are usually quite cursory compared to big concerts, which have become draconian. I took my son to see Wu-Tang Clan at the Hydro in Glasgow a couple of months ago, and full airport-style checks including metal detectors were in operation. Not only that,  but stewards were actually inserting their hands directly into people’s pockets to check the contents, rather than asking them to disclose the contents or empty them out. They were also asking people to open up their specs cases and wallets and take out the contents. I told my son that if a steward attempted to put his hands into my pockets, or my son’s, I’d be demanding to speak to a supervisor and taking the matter further, but fortunately it didn’t happen in our case. I was quite vocal in expressing my opinion towards the stewards (many of the people they were intimately searching were just kids), and a number of people in the queue also spoke up in agreement. Had a steward attempted to search us in that fashion I’d have refused and made a complaint. There’s definitely a line that can be crossed, from effective and responsible stewarding and security to an invasion of privacy and a breach of civil liberties. From your description there, I’d say the steward was only doing his job.

Tell them to fuq off. Stewards have no legal or statutory powers to search you without your consent. Even the police must have “reasonable grounds” to conduct a search. As for putting their hands in your pockets that is beyond creepy.

  2. No sure what the answer is but recently I have been in Poland, Armenia, Ireland and Norway. Got “unofficial” tickets for the first three and watched the Norway game in a bar in Oslo. The last time I got a ticket frae the supporters club was for the marathon trip tae Kazakhstan. Something no right.

    Fair enough.

A 3rd party deals with it, not the club directly. I've no idea why they haven't updated it for the Motherwell game since it was known. I've left a message to chase it up.

You must have a measure of control over the third party. Was mildly amused in the past over MT’s annoyance but now I have moved into Dumfries, in very close proximity tae Palmerston it’s beginning tae annoy me as well. Not very professional.

Colour me shocked. Queens voting the right way against a nonsense proposal for a conference league which would’ve effectively relegated over 200 clubs.

What a relief. After the Rangers/Sevco/**** fiasco we have seen sense. Hopefully sufficient clubs are enlightened enough to do likewise.

Comfortably the best Edinburgh have looked against us at 4th time of asking. They still only came remotely close to scoring once. We played decently. Not brilliantly, but more than enough to win and it would have been a travesty if we hadnt. The goal was an outstandingly good free kick from the 'mannequin killer' 😂

As much as we should probably have won by 3 or 4 (why did Hendrie try to square the ball instead of just scoring?) I was more pleased with how we defended. I know its Edinburgh, but we were disciplined, organised and always looked like getting the clean sheet. Brydon really looks the part for such a young defender, East brings a bit of composure on the ball and McKay had easily his best game of the season. And Dabrowski looks a solid last line when he's needed.

Harry Cochrane I thought was tremendous in an unsung hero kind of way. Base of the midfield in Wilson's absence, calm on the ball and picking up ugly possesion when we didnt have it. Marvin wants a high tempo passing game and players like Cochrane will be crucial.

Ruari got man of the match for his goal, his industry and his Irish charm with the ladies but I'd have gone with Harry or Brydon.

Two good performances in a row, but it was two teams we've beaten 7 out of 7 so far. Hamilton will be a bigger test, especially without Brydon (& Logan and Kabia too).

Pretty much nailed it there SD. Thought Brydon was different class, especially first half. It’s a bugger we have players cup tied but at least they won’t get injured for our glorious late run into the playoffs. Is the big keeper eligible?

  6. Tbf, woeful as the first half was we played some decent football after the break. I’m no happy clapper but I do feel a reliable keeper and a couple o guys at the back that can actually defend and we will make the play offs comfortably. Wilson was immense second half today.

Why is our best attacking option Connelly not getting a start yet Paton plays every game .

He works hard seems to do no wrong a  Wullies favourite  but he is now starting to cost us games missing far to many easy chances open goal today top of the long list.

Ruth is another option we could use .

Is Wullie getting the best out of the squad we chucked away 2 points against Alloa yet another poor result.

This is first for me but I agree one hundred per cent.

Away from the actual game itself, would it be too much to ask that the information given in the match preview on the OS is correct. The ticket booth at the East Stand WAS open to purchase "tickets" despite the OS saying they could only be purchased at the Arena. We were also advised to use the correct turnstiles because there would be no access open between the East Stand and Oakbank Terrace yet people were going between the two no bother. I don't quite understand this restriction anyway unless opposition fans occupy the whole East Stand.

On another matter, I would like to applaud the Board's attempts in  trying to stop residents living in the houses behind the Terregles St. end from getting a free view of games, I'm sure when the grass screening growing along the back of the Terracing reaches full height it will offer an effective and cheap solution, its already well on its way to doing its job. Also the Board's continued dedication to the preservation of the protected species of wildlife that inhabit the roofs of the Stands is admirable, and their continued  efforts in this  shouldn't be swayed by complaints from mere paying customers who have to sit in filthy seats, or have their enjoyment of the match, or whatever little enjoyment is on offer, spoilt by swooping hordes of these poor, misunderstood, creatures. Keep up the good work gents, everything around Palmerston is just dandy.

Magnificent post. Re injuries, spoke tae Gav yesterday and he reckons Sat afore he’s back.

  9. Have I got this right? Ye cannae get in unless it is purchased online. The demographic of yer average Scottish fitba fan is defo towards the “mature” end o the scale and I know of many who do not have the means to facilitate entry. Surely we should be encouraging, not dissuading fans. Unable to attend the game the day but watched the stream. Fabulous second half, both teams really going for it and Queens  maybe a wee bit fortuitous to get the point. Have to say the Arbroath fan on the commentary was hugely biased but in a very entertaining way.

  10. McRorie was probably was probably our best keeper since Alan Davidson 25 years ago. He strolled our (NBD) POTY award despite only playing half a season. He had a bit of a ‘mare in one game, no bad in five months fitba tho. Astonished, perplexed and saddened to see how he has performed at Livi. What did you guys dae tae him?
