Has there been any justification for why Inverclyde is hit with restrictions in the same way as the rest of the Central Belt? Or is this just a blanket by-health board approach? Bit crap for the areas who aren’t rammed with infection.

East Lothian is the same. Pretty low numbers but because we are part of NHS Lothian we get hit with the same restrictions as the rest of Health Board area.

A more practical way might be to use Local Authority areas but that could get a bit messy.

  2. The Oxford Dictionary is adding a section to the next edition to detail the lexicon of words and phrases that are regularly used on the Pie & Bovril forum.
They feel that it is vitally important that words such as Scheme Goblins, Puddle Drinkers and Get that back into the sea reach a far wider audience and should become commonly used throughout the length and breadth of the country.

  3. Since the lockdown began Mrs Meister has painted the garden fence a rather fetching Harvest Gold, painted the downstairs toilet and has now almost finished painting all the woodwork on the stairs.
Whilst this has been going on I have been pretending to work from home.
The achievement is that so far I have got away with it.
Tomorrow more working from home for me, more painting for Mrs Meister.

  4. Not sure if this is the right thread but anyway. My employer pays for my rail season ticket and takes it out my wages each month, but now all daily business has to be done from home and I'm occasionally going into the office when I'm on shifts but the train times don't suit. So I applied for a refund but it can take Scotrail 28 days to process this (despite rail travel being suspended on day 1) and then it can take HR up to 8 weeks to sort out the pay issue. So this is going to take around 12 weeks probably 5 months wages I assume I'm entitled to the over paid money? HR are being incredibly wooly about it. Unions aren't interested so much so I had enough and left. Anyone had similar experiences? I don't know why Scotrail aren't refunding as default they can no longer provide the service I purchased.
My employer "lends" me the money to buy an Annual Season ticket.
On my first day of working from home I went to the station I bought my season ticket from to get the balance refunded, it had just over three months to go.
The refunded was in my account within a couple of days.
My employer will continue to take the monthly repayments from my salary which seems fair enough.
