So we will find out tomorrow if McKinnon was actually pushed out of Cappielow or if he is, in fact, a snakey cnut. Stay tuned, folks :)

Don't give a flying f**k how it went down, he's our manager now and can't wait to see how well he does with us when he gets his own players in. :thumsup2

Will be nice not having to read through another match thread of missing key players chat,  because nobody else has to deal with that..

It has probably been a bit strange for the Thistle fans to read about us going on about having players missing.

We are genuinely that shite that McKinnon has had to get us playing in a certain way to scrape points. He has us defending then trying to hit on the break with the pace of Rudden and Petracvius. It wasn't just that we missed those players but it as the fact it fucked up our style of play that has improved us over the last 4 games or so.

January can't come quick enough for us, I'm sure the Thistle fans are thinking exact the same.

It will be interesting to see how many he signs in January as there are some signs that some of the existing squad can do a job. The likes of Brough and Harrison have both improved recently. I appreciate in a different setup.

Priority for me is a goalkeeper, creative mid and a striker.

Obviously need more but that would be my starting point.

With the defence looking better and with us adding a right wing back I think it will be 352 for the rest of the season.

Sort of following on from a comment on the match thread, having now seen a number of games under McKinnon, formations, lineups etc and with January still being absolutely crucial.....

I think we have landed on our feet with Ray McKinnon and his apppointment will turn out the major silver lining of an anotherwise cloudy season.

    Discuss.

I agree with this. He feels like a good fit for the club and I think he will do well for us.

The tossers on onef sound like they want him gone already though. Just shows what little football knowledge they have on there!

If we went down, I think the only thing that would make it bearable would be Morton going down too. Nourishing.

If we can beat them at home before January and pick up another win as well then I think we will have a good chance of catching them.

How delicious would that be :thumsup2

quite frankly, it’s ridiculous, but that’s the nature of a league less than a third of the way done. Relegated sides often struggle, and Partick are certainly struggling. It helped that they appointed Caldwell.

A win tomorrow is more than just the three points. In terms of attitude and approach thereafter, it could make a massive difference not only to us, but to the vast majority of the league. January comes around, and we manage three or four key acquisitions, and just watch the bluster down Greenock way evaporate very very quickly.

Especially when they get pulled into a relegation scrap in a few months time

I wouldn't mind signing Cardle but the question I have is where would he fit into a 352 formation? Can he play centre mid?

Ray wont be making January signings with 352 in mind. We will be 4 at the back again IMO.

I thought that as well but his comments after the Dunfermline game on Dumbaya suggested different to me. Maybe I picked it up wrong.

See folk that continuously try to bring up that they called this mess back in June, just gtf.

Most on here were buzzing for the season to start, considering how we kicked on from January onwards. After a brutal first half of the season, folk quite rightly got carried away for the new season.

Saying you called it back then doesn’t make you some sort of genius, it just makes you look an arse.

I'll be exactly the same after Ray gets us close to the play offs come the end of this season then goes and signs 15 players to begin our assault on the league next season. :)

I see Hartley raising his head this morning moaning about SM and how clubs react to it and sack managers. Two things spring to mind.

    1. Paul you made a roaring c**t of the job and people would think more of you if you held up your hands and admit it.

    2. The media should challenge his premise and actually ask him if he thought he did a good job?

I think it's widely known in Scotland was a shit job he done with us and what a wee c**t he is.

It's just a shame it took managing us for him to be fully found out.

sometimes I think folks are watching a different game than I am. imo Irving has been our best player this season (possibly McGhee aside). he's creative beats a man and at least gets shots away. I've been impressed by buaben and Robson in the past few games but over the season Irving and McGhee first names on team sheet for me

I think he has been ok but no better than that. He is only 18 so will have bags of improvement in him but if we can bring in a more experienced player in January then I wouldn't be bothered if his loan wasn't renewed.

That's just my opinion. Things would be boring if we all agreed on everything. :)

It was only last season that Mutch was a f**k up and Mitchell was our saviour once his injury cleared.
I actually think Fasan is the best of the three we have. Although he’s not that great either.
Can’t believe some of the ridiculous comments re his performance on Saturday. When you have a defence like ours keeping a clean sheet is an achievement in itself....

Mutch has made mistakes but is still a young laddie. The other 2 shouldn't really be making as many mistakes as they do at this stage of their careers.
