It's a tough one for FFC. If we take the deal off the table to give to someone else then we'll get hee haw from another club for Sibbs. But if we keep it on the table & Sibbs signs for someone else say mid August. Then it's likely anyone we do want is probably gone. Re him not being match fit, he's only missed 2 bounce games & he's been training with us & then Luton for the last fortnight. I'd doubt he's well off the pace of the others.

I don't think that's the case at all. He's gave us 6 years of great service & deserves a chance to see what's out there, he's out of contract remember. If he signs the 2 year deal on the table, great. If he doesn't and moves on, best wishes to him but he'll never think FFC is beneath him.

It's getting silly now. The season won't be lost after game 1 regardless of whether Harris or anyone else has a shite game.

On another note, was sad to see Farid last night in that situation. I'll never forget the season he gave us but looks a shadow of that confident guy now. He looks fit enough (upper body) but his knees are obviously shot to shit. He had a foot race with one of our defenders (Grant I think) and he got nowhere near him. When he got subbed he walked round the pitch towards the pavilion, a few fans interacted with him but he looks a beaten man.

There is an argument he's shown it previously at Hibs in the Premiership when he first broke through 3 years ago.

My view on last night: GKs - Thomson talks the defence/midfield all through the game & knows his stuff. Good couple of saves including one at point blank. Mitchell was barely tested in the 2nd half so hard to tell how he is. His distribution pre match to Thomson for handling training was awful & after the 4th crap cross on the bounce Thomson went mental at him. Good lad. DEF: Kidd was poor in the first 45 and was rightly subbed at HT with Muirhead going to RB in the 2nd half. Who had a very good 2nd half until replaced by Finlayson who looked decent in the 10mins he got. Grant/Muirhead/Gasparotto all did well at CH and Grant looks a great captain already. Gallacher & Henderson didn't put a foot wrong at LB. MID: Harris was the best on the night and covered every blade of Astro. Crossing was good too & set up 2 goals. Looks like he has a point to prove. McKee played well & had his usual game. Taiwo & Sheps were poor imho and when replaced by Kerr & Blues we were much more commanding. To be fair to Sheps, I gather he was only in due to Craigen & Hippo having had knocks the night before. Young lad Stowe came on & played well too. FWD: Great overall play by the forwards & Fash took his goal well. Rory had flashes but nothing came off for him last night but class is permanent. O'Hara had a good 15mins, took his goal well and looked hungry for more. Miller was his sexy self and had a few good passes/knock downs. Good wee game to go too & a decent set up at Spartans, even though the Astro is poor. Looked like the vast majority of the 350 crowd were Bairns fans tbh. Roll on Saturday.

Craigen & Hippo took knocks in a bounce game with Queens Park last night but will be back in training on Thursday. Watson picked up a knock on Friday but will be back training this week. All good.

Sun is splitting the skies in Edinburgh currently. Hoping to see a few goals tonight.

Sibbs will be a huge miss. I'd love him to stay on but I fear it's a foregone conclusion that by hook or by crook he'll be sold on, probably for less than the fee he should carry. There is an argument for his own career, he needs to move on but that's not looking through the navy blue glasses that we tend to do.

We need to get ourselves in a position to buy the percentage of the stadium off the council asap. Hopefully there's an opportunity whenever the new council offices are built & they are keen to offload their share.

My take on his comments: 1) As BPM mentions too, sounds like we are done on recruitment until someone leaves (would assume Sibbs but suppose someone could come in for Gallacher) 2) Thomson to start ahead of Mitchell in goal. 3) Happy that he's got 2 in each position for the full backs (Kidd/Muirhead for RB & Gallacher/Henderson for LB), 5 players for CH, 7 players who can play across the middle & 5 who can play up front. 4) Loy & Austin preferred front pairing

I think us signing a LB will depend on Gallacher leaving. I think they are grooming Henderson into a LB although to be fair, I think he's played there a fair bit for the U20s

United selling 3800 STs isn't good, they budgeted for 4500 according to my United supporting colleague. They had over 5000 last season so that budget is way down even taking into consideration less away supports and a lesser payment from the premiership. This league is there for the taking. Let's just do this Falkirk.

I heard we had continued to sell well the last few days following pay day etc. Wouldn't be surprised if we are now over 2,600. Fully expect us to hit 3,000 again come the league KO.

Scrambling to be one of the big boys (in a small pond) with this shite. At a quick glance you had just under 5000 at one game v Raith and over 5600 at the next so you will be impacted by RR not being in the league at both the home & away turnstiles. Your crowds for the non big games were 2500 so good luck with that.

Loy was in the side that helped relegate Morton to their usual position in the Diddy leagues yes. Season 13/14 I'm sure.

The DAFC board are as open & honest as they need to be so that you all keep pumping in your monthly subs. FWIW they will be delighted we lost out in the play offs so you can continue to hoover up the Navy Blue Pounds.

Someone mentioned that the Bairns Business Club funded the deal for Loy but it wasn't the full deal, it was only a %. Great that they were able to support though as without it (& Dundee's pay off) I'd be surprised if he wasn't remaining at Dens Park seeing out his very decent contract.
