  1. If you’re still looking for an answer, Josh Magennis plays for Hull City. Kyle Magennis is the Hibs midfielder pictured.
  2. I would support a boycott, but I think the time for it has passed. It should have been done on a confederation wide basis when it was announced that Qatar would be hosting, as that might have made a difference. I don’t think Scotland, in isolation, boycotting will make any real difference. Elite football is absolutely up to it’s eyes in incredibly dodgy stuff, and it’ll take a lot more than Scotland boycotting a World Cup to change that - not that that means it’s not worthwhile.
  3. Still mind a Doolan penalty against either Caley or Ross County being one of the worst efforts I’ve ever seen. And Sammon’s penalty in the playoff final too. Dreadful.
  4. We lost 3-0 away to the fifth seeds in our last qualification group.
  5. Our Euros group was not “fairly weak.” I’d argue it was one of the stronger groups. We, demonstrably, are at the level of a side knocking on the doors of a major tournament, given we’re incredibly likely to qualify for the playoffs to get to one.
  6. “I hearby declare Dunfermline winning the league to be Smooth Peter’s lock of the week”
  7. I always find these arguments interesting - I don’t support my local team. Ibrox and Hampden are both closer to where I grew up than Firhill, while Celtic Park is probably about the same distance away. That’s excluding all the junior/non league senior sides which would have been much closer as well - Arthurlie probably the closest. I will almost certainly never be told to support my local team though. I think the rule is as long as your team are mostly shite and hardly ever win anything, support who you like. Closest team now is Hearts, I think, but I’ve never been in the home end at Tynecastle, and, if I have kids, they absolutely will not be supporting Hearts.
  8. Particularly enjoyed that bit. Presumably ‘certain times’ means ‘the entire league season so far’
  9. I’ll assume it was the referee’s fault that Northern Ireland lost to Bulgaria, despite being just as good as Switzerland.
  10. They better not come along to the open top bus parade through Saltcoats next December.
  11. We’ll look back on this and laugh when Lyndon is lifting the World Cup in a few months time.
  12. Say what you want about the performance, that was utterly delightful shitehousing at the end. We’re up there with the Italians in that regard.
  13. I’m very embarrassed by how much I celebrated that.
  14. One positive is that they have struggled with runs in behind when we’ve bothered making them - more of that and we’ll get chances.
  15. I would really appreciate it if they could cut this out and start slapping these whale murderers around
  16. We could really do with our centre halves bringing the ball out from the back, try to drag them out of position a bit.
  17. I know it was a lovely dribble by Gilmour, but what about his defensive positioning?
  18. Right, that’s them had their moment - get them pumped now Scotland.
  19. No, they don't. The players they have are mostly based in the Faroes, but outside that they have guys in the Irish, Danish, Icelandic and Norwegian top flights, and the Austrian and Belgian second tiers. I don't think any of them would be troubling our squad.
  20. February 2071 We made a couple of signings this month, so I'll start with those. First up, we have Sevak Poghosyan, a right midfielder/winger. He's got plenty of pace, he's got a decent touch and technique and his crossing, while not great, isn't dreadful as wingers in this division go. I think he should do a good job. I also brought in Blerim Islami, a left midfielder/winger. As I mentioned, I was looking for an upgrade on Omelchuk and he's it. He's very similar to Poghosyan, to be honest, quick, decent touch and technique and his crossing is ok. Both of them are quite young as well, so plenty of time to improve. A great month. Shirak were fairly dominant against us, but, with a slight tactical tweak, we restricted them to very few chances and took the one we created. Delightful. Turns out we're just a much better team that Noravank which, given that they're bottom and we're in the top half, is to be expected. Nice to get my two new wingers on the scoresheet too. Those two wins have secured us in the top half/group. Wonderful. It's been a productive season.
  21. January 2071 A great performance at home to Gandzasar, particularly from Omelchuk. I have been thinking that I probably need to get a better player than him at left wing fairly soon, but he has been a reasonably reliable source for goals for me. It's a tough one, but if I can I'll probably replace him. We then got thrashed by Pyunik, but they thrash everyone so f**k it. Edging closer to the top half finish.
