EDIT: Incidentally our GD and GF are by far the worst of any SPFL2 last place finisher since pyramid began. Points will be worst unless we beat Elgin.

Struggle to grasp how people and Jonny think any sort of ‘abuse’ toward him is undue. For starters it’s hardly abuse, it’s common football shouts that will be heard across any ground in Britain when there team is getting pumped week in week out. The man is paid to do the job, not that that itself should allow anybody to be ‘abused’, but a huge percentage of the clubs funds to pay this mans wages comes from guess who... the fans. Now for him to come out and target us the way he did get is extremely poor, and shows he has cracked. I’m sure if he had approached it explaining he understands the fans frustrations and he understands the heckles from the terrace but if everyone could just stick together for these next three weeks we will get out of it. With regards to him working hard, I’ve already said on here I have no doubt about the work rate and effort JH puts into  the role, but there are about 24 other part time managers in the SPFL who are all doing the same thing mate, and dozens sitting without a jobs willing to work just as hard,  yet I’ve yet to see another interview where a manger stresses how much work he is putting in. And unfortunately in case he wasn’t aware it’s about results on the field not about how hard he works.

The least you should get from a Manager, staff and players is that they work hard and give 100% effort.

I'm quite cold and heartless about these things. If there's a mechanism to stop it, there's no way we should be allowing one of our own players come back and potentially cost us points.

The 3 directors that have left were seen to be operating as a board within a board and leading the club into obliviation.

One a sheep farmer another that works in PR were turning up at training and criticising  the coaching. They are nicely qualified to do this.

Other ludicrous decisions have been made by them, such as removal of the stair lift and over turning decisions when other directors have left the country, this caused major unrest in the town.

Their decision to leave has created vacancies on the board which will allow more able directors to be appointed and also bring harmony to the boardroom. This in itself should bring a lot more stability and guidance to the football club.

The disruption has helped bring the two main supporters groups together which will also benefit the club moving forward.

The management team may also feel a little more comfortable without big brother watching how they were training the players.

Murray "missing" McLaren is the longest serving director on the board and invested a lot of time and money into the club. He has stepped forward with cash when the club have needed it most. He has also been responsible for finding previous shirt sponsors and bringing other revenue into the club through his business contacts. He's due a little more respect.

3 down, 2 to go, then it's time to start looking to the future with a little more optimisim.

If Directors are regularly at training and making adverse comments then having a Director of Football makes sense to give a layer of protection to the Manager and his staff.

Gruesome result against one of the few teams with, allegedly, a similarly crap budget. By all accounts, could have been 6 or 7.

Only 1 result, and we'll see what happens on Saturday. But you wouldn't get long odds on this all going seriously tits up pretty soon.

Everyone jockeying for position  and making whatever "f**k-you" decisions they can. Does anyone have the balls to bring all the fighting factions together?

    Won't hold my breath.

Yes. Part of me is grateful for the absolute slapping we're currently getting off one or the division's bang average sides. It should hopefully wake the blind faith club that have been frequenting this thread over the summer and alert em to the fact without urgent investment, we're heading for non league football. You'd hope it'd do the same for our board, but who knows if they'll be paying attention to the football or busy writing the next chapter of a long running comedy.

The line up tonight is sadly indicative of just how absolutely shite we are. It isn't the fault of any of those players who I'm sure will give their all, nor Horn, who is doing all he can with a very much limited set of resources. I'm actually still confident there's no better person for the job - we need someone who knows and loves the club. But without backing, I don't think we stand a chance. Expect to see us panicking and paying over the odds for some absolute shite in January followed by the ultra hilarious appointment of Eric Tait who'll take us down. Strap yourself in for a hysterical farewell ride.

Yes. I tried to highlight last season that by sacking Coughlin we could be sleepwalking to non league. Because I thought Clyde, Cowden and Edinburgh would improve.  Remember it was Annan that was the final nail in his coffin. I am afraid it is not just about giving your all but is your all good enough? I remember all the predictions about Robbie's network and how he would find players.

I agree with the panicking, again, and expect knee jerk reactions. I still cannot believe the DoF! What is his remit?

  7. It is obvious that for talented young players to reach their full potential, they must get first team experience. It is about building confidence, playing at the cutting edge where results matter, dealing with highs and lows, learning from and being guided by senior players, being out of their comfort zone, developing as a person and coping with pressure.

In the absence of a major cultural change from the boardroom and fans where clubs would be able to state that one measure of their success will be the number of players developed, even if it leads to relegation. Therefore there needs to be artificial mechanisms put in place to make it happen.

There are options, these need to be professionally researched, possibly by an outside body. Examples of options could be:

Increase the number of teams in the leagues, perhaps leading to fewer leagues with more clubs. When the Premier League was originally cut down, it was because of too many “meaningless games”. Perhaps this lack of meaningless games leads to managers being unable to blood new talent. With an extended full time top division of sixteen teams with two part time divisions of sixteen on a geographical split with play offs for promotion and relegation. Promotion to the top division only if the club goes to full time. This would allow six more teams to join e.g. “B” teams.

A paired club loan partnership or draft where clubs are partnered for a season e.g. the Premier champions are paired with the team finishing lowest in the lowest tier or the team coming in to the league set up. Second in the Premier league being paired with the second lowest and so on. The premier club would loan five players to the partner club at the start of the season. This would reviewed at the end of December and the same five players could stay or they could be replaced by other loanees. The players could travel together, train full time with parent club, train one night with the receiving club, play in the receiving club games, play in development games if appropriate, play in ad hoc friendlies with parent club and the parent club could also assess all five players at the same time, if all five are performing well enough to be selected. It is important that the receiving club does not incur any financial burden.

A revamped competitive reserve league with a Saturday fixture.

The current loan system extended by more full time players going out on loan and for loans to be more flexible. Yes, rules would need to be amended. For example allowing more movement between the parent and loan clubs, insisting that every youth player experiences a loan term, ensuring that the loan club does not suffer financially.

Restriction of players as Brexit approaches would it be possible to restrict the number of non Scots or non-assimilated Scots.

There are other options, it does not need to be a stand-alone option but could be a combination. However, something needs to change.

“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”

  8. It probably has been covered elsewhere but my concern would be "fairness". If the Colts cannot be promoted or relegated, what is their incentive? Would there be a consistency of selection i.e. would they always play their strongest team? Or would they use it for example balance game time across the squad, or play younger player against certain teams etc.
