Blatant trolling aside I like St Mirrens team this year - their manager is a p***k and their fans on here transcend that title but overall there’s a lot to like about St. Mirren this season.

I’ve been a Dundee fan long enough to suspect we might actually go and do the business this weekend - only to blow it in spectacular fashion / St. Mirren get a wild and unexpected result to pip us - and I wouldn’t grudge them it as they have led the way for most of the season.

A good crowd, a cracking atmosphere, 2 teams entertaining the fans and a lovely spell of weather played on the most (in)famous pitch in the UK at the moment - what’s not to like.

I will not be in attendance due to other footballing commitments so if someone could please give a 2 handed - 1 finger salute to the away end whilst screaming “Thank you” on my behalf it would be appreciated.

    Thank you

That stat is meaningless without a comparison. How does it compare to other top tier leagues? How does it compare to 10/20/30 years ago?

ETA to save you some trouble I've looked at the starting 11s in the 4 games in the EPL from the most recent weekend and they contained a grand total of 0 English players under 21. In the last full game week there were 4 under 21s starting out of 220 total players. A worse ratio than us.

TBF not being as bad as England is not really much of bar to get under

Warnock doing what every Brexiteer does; claim the job was a success when it clearly wasn't, say everyone is happy with what you did when they weren't, then walk away leaving a shambles for someone else to try and tidy up while claiming this was always the plan and the mess is either "other people's fault" or "just bad luck".

Either way, Warnock will not be "Hibs'ing it", however we now have a new term...

    Warnocked /wɔːr'nɒkˈdiː/
    (verb)

    1. To demonstrate a complete lack of awareness of the club you are managing, making the team worse, all the time supported by the 'old boy network' in the media.

Example: "We've got a new manager, I really hope he doesn't Warnock this whole thing"

I'm not posting anything inflammatory on here as yesterday's result is such a sore one for "the Famous" Aberdeen.  Losing a goal in the 96th minute after being in the lead for so long must be horrible, but then a 97th minute winner for the lowly Buds would be unimaginable.

Thoughts and prayers for the fans of the third biggest team in Scotland.

What have hearts got to do with this.

There really was some mental comments online in the summer when he left.

It was either here or twitter where someone suggested Carson was the best out of him, Hladky and Alnwick. Bat shit stuff.

He was good and defo can be mentioned in the same breath as the others. But for me Hladky was the best of the three. Where are they now though?

As I said in the Dundee match thread. There has been 2 Scottish officials selected for major international tournaments in the past 22 years. No world cups since Hugh Dallas in 2002.

Prior to this, there had only been one world cup since the 1960s without a Scottish referee.

There is absolutely a problem with official standards in this country and it's sticking the head in the sand for any of them to say there isn't.

Part of the problem for sure, we all remember when we were getting Polish refs and generally they were much better.

There in lies the problem in professional football at least in Scotland.  The standard of refereeing is far too low, and often their arrogance compounds their ignorance.

Actually spoke to someone from the SFA at a neighbours wedding. His response was refs are fine and fans know nothing. Its that kind of arrogance that seeps into the refs at all levels and does so much damage.

The penalty incident - people often ask 'where else can he put his arm?' when a ball strikes it. If you give that, you're genuinely as well lopping players arms off as you cannot get any closer to the side of the body than that.

There is absolutely no way you can look at that on a monitor, with any sort of clarity of thought and genuinely believe 'yeah that's a penalty'. Doc is talking out his hole to suggest otherwise. I understand that he's trying to make a point about Dundee's very soft one on Saturday but a referee getting that decision wrong last night would not have righted the ills. It's mental to suggest that bad decisions should be balanced by even more bad decisions.

And yet is that not the whole "these things even themselves out," argument?
