    2 Financial fair play isn't a thing.

Clubs need to submit financial data etc...going forward, what that entails I do not know. I certainly know teams ground sharing can then use the money they save on the upkeep and put towards sporting budget thus giving them an advantage straight away. I am lead to believe the likes of Talbot have full time employed groundsman, along with regular specialist contractor working on the pitch, if they never had to pay this then their budget would be higher.

This is such a baffling argument, do you really think clubs are making money from not owning their own ground? Obviously owning your own ground is better for the finances of a club but it's very difficult to get your own ground.

Couple of U19 teams in the Scottish Premier AFA disappeared now as well - Glasgow Athletic and Cumbernauld Colts.

Kinross has folded in the Kingdom of Fife AFA.

The summer amateur leagues have started up again in the North.

Inverness & District now down to 26 teams (8-9-9), with a new team in Kirkhill, Culbokie returning, and Loch Ness merging to form Balloan/Loch Ness.
Caithness up to 15 (8-7) with the return of Halkirk.
North West Sutherland a single division of 10 (with the return of Embo) - a new team, Mallard, will play in the cup competitions only.
Shetland is again 19 clubs (7-12).
Orkney is down to 19 clubs (7-5, with a reserve division of 7 clubs) - Streamline and Kirkwall Accies Reserves not there this season.
Lewis & Harris is the same single division of 9 clubs.
Uist & Barra is the same (single division of 6 clubs).
West Highland League is the same (single division of 8 clubs).
Arran is the same (single division of 3 clubs - unaffiliated to SAFA).

Kyle aren't entering a team into the West Highland this year so it's down to 7

What amounts to an election system ain't great, but its baby steps to what could see something more formal eventually.

Ultimately though there isn't that much else you can do when most of the teams don't want to be semi pro so integrating the amateurs is nigh on impossible. I do think long term more leagues will be added to the WOSL or maybe further regionlised feeder leagues but as with everything pyramid related it will take years for anything substantial to happen.

The large league I think is the main issue - I don't remember there being a 20-team league at this level previously - in fact in Scotland at any level, it's not common.  Scottish Division 2 had 20 teams for one season (1966-67).

The Midlands League itself only has 1 cup - the League Cup - but there is also the Inter-Regional Cup (with the North Region League) and the Scottish Junior Cup.

First season of the WOSL was a 20 team league as well but that was just a temp thing

Hi all, maybe not the best place for this but thought someone may know. An idea why Troon didn't seem to enter this season's Scottish Cup? Maybe I'm ignorant but can't find their name in any of the results pages

Troon don't have an SFA license so they don't qualify to enter the Scottish Cup

I get some of you guys don’t like him but you have to show a wee bit of sympathy here to a man who took the job promised the earth in all probability and then a few months later he’s been told to get rid of players to reduce the wage bill , he must be wondering what’s he’s landed himself into

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy...

I’d very much doubt it as he has moved a couple of times since leaving the buffs

Fifa regulations are that any club that contributes to the development of a player will receive solidarity payments, I think in this case it will be a fraction of a per cent because of how little time he spent at the Buffs but even  .5% of a transfer this big is good money

Been reading elsewhere and there were quite a few teams in the WOSFL with players missing due to still on holiday or suspensions.

Were both Pollok and Auchinleck at full strength for the game or still had players who considered to be in the starting 11, still missing?
I suppose even the managers of most teams might still be trying to figure out the best team in defense, midfield and forwards etc... but the best placed at the moment to answer are Pollok and Talbot supporters.

Mullen and Jordan Allen were both suspended, not sure about Burns but he was unavailable as so that meant we had to play a right footed centre half at LB, and only had one right back who came off injured, though Barr I think did play RB for East Stirling for a bit so he isn't completely new to it. Think Docherty was deemed as not fit enough yet, and Gallacher was limited to coming off the bench because he missed most of pre-season

Giffnock SC have been playing out of Dumbreck Road for a number of years. They did the swap with Hutchy as Auldhouse was too big for Hutchy these days. Both still own the respective grounds but long term leases have been agreed. Giffnock SC will redevelop Auldhouse.

IIRC Giffnock North played out of Eastwood not Giffnock SC.

Nah, Giffnock did and I think even after the new astro is finished will continue to operate a lot of their youth teams out of the pitch next to St Ninians in Eastwood Park. Giffnock North play out of a pitch next to the running club just up from the Police station in Giffnock

Excuse my ignorance, so Shettleston Juniors are now Glasgow United? So what  happened, same cracking old ground I hope?.

    No comment on Good/Bad Wullie

They changed it a couple seasons ago for "wider appeal". They are still playing at their old ground but there was talk about them selling it for housing and moving to an astro in the football centre just on the other end of the railway line, no idea if that is still happening or has been abandoned

25 players for 2 teams is overkill. Are you telling me that 7+ players are missing everyweek?

Cap the signings to 18 maximum and let everyone find a team, get a game and then water will find its own level.

If you think that 18 is enough for an amateur team there is no way you've been involved with one

He's probably not a big enough name. Leave it be. Everyone on here wants to be vigilante we are supposed to be about rehabilitating people and looking after peoples mental health.

Playing for and representing a club is a privilege and not a right, nobody is saying he should be ostracised from society but it's ultimately a position where you are somewhat of a role model and represent the club and to a lesser extent the sport. It's already a sport that is a very toxic and unwelcoming place for young women, imagine how much worse they feel when a club backs a player the day after he pleads guilty to abusing his partner.

I could be completely wrong but I get the feeling that some of the bigger WOS clubs want to get into doing the PPV live streams like the Bankies do.  Pollok have done a fair bit to get their media stuff into good shape already and maybe bunging a competent cameraman a few quid to produce something that could generate more income makes sense (if that's actually what they're doing).

I see Talbot have just announced a replacement for KP in the shape of the Cumnock guy so looking forward to seeing his vids next season and hopefully it brings an overall gain to the club.

Bankies were forced to stop the PPV for any game on a Saturday iirc

They'll need to sort out the ground ownership issue first, so they can make the improvements required. Possibly one for KLTR?

By the sounds of their statement everyone involved was willing to give up ownership of the ground to the club, it was just a strange legal situation of the trust with nobody left alive in it that left them in a situation where they had to jump through some bureaucratic hoops before they could get ownership to build the floodlights.

Arthurlie potentially moving from Dunterlie which I assume would help them on their way to getting a license as loads of work would need done at existing park I would think.

Be a shame to lose Dunterlie but when I was there this season it was not in good shape, half the terracing cordoned off  and just generally a bit of a mess. I imagine that repairing most of this would be close to financially  impossible for even the bigger money clubs in the west so I understand why they would move on

I think the issue with live streaming in the SPFL was the blocked hours from Sky/BT Sports which don't apply to the LL so I believe the club should be able to live stream.

    No transfer windows.

I'm fairly sure Clydebank got in bother for streaming their games so I don't think you will be in the Lowland League either

I think where the sensible clubs like beith /Talbot/Clydebank/meadow/largs etc can restore a certain degree of parity with the darvels/ Johnstone burghs/st cadocs /Pollock's is in dealing with guys who have a good first job/ good career/ academic guys , these players could live comfortable enough without the mad shot Money being offered to kick a Baw at our level and could maybe resist it .

Conversely though a player who's first job Is maybe on a zero hour contract/ minimum wage / a lesser guy academically then they really could  be jumping at the crazy signing on fees and wages that are on offer , there's never been a better time financially for players to play at our level and it's obscene,  however the bubble will burst like it has done before and always will do as it's simply not sustainable.

Putting the team with some of the highest attendances in the grade in with Darvel, Johnstone Burgh and St Cadoc's is a level of bitterness that I can only respect
