I'm not going to lie, if we'd just secured the league title I wouldn't be replying to irrelevant posts on another team's thread on Pie and Bovril. I'd be having a far nicer time.

But whatever works you, 'DCismyhero'. As long as you're enjoying yourself.

No worries take care of yourself ‘Jan Vojáček.

Key word there is “if”, btw. Unlucky, you kept top spot warm for us.

That's us now set a club record for clean sheets in a league season (17). Beating the previous record held by David McEwan and Mark McGeown in 2008/09.

The most by a single goalkeeper is also now held jointly by Brett and Ian McFarlane (15). But Brett's all being in League games is a record for a goalkeeper.

I know this season has been a weird one. And we've had a few pumpings. But those are some excellent stats; not just for Brett but for Aron Lynas, Gregor Buchanan and Martin McNiff who have played virtually every game too. Really tremendous numbers. If we were half as good as scoring goals as we are at keeping them out then we'd have won the league in about February. Faz has a challenge next season to find that right balance.

Congrats. Almost* as good as winning the league.

I'd rather be a Dumbarton fan next season as we chase a title with a record points total as opposed to a Stirling fan watching their team get relegated. Winning games aye, but usually struggling to win them in the league below. If the squad remains the same, they will get found out next season. Just my opinion.

    Mon the Sons

    Enjoy League 2 freak show.

  4. So nice of Dumbarton to basically hand us the title after their first half display. Time wasting at 0-0, when yous need to win 😂 obviously Farrell realised that maybe that shouldn’t have been the game plan, which kicked yous into gear a bit. But not enough to get past the best centre half in the league. A stroll in the park for super Paul McLean tonight.

Genuinely felt like Farrell was more concerned about losing the league tonight, rather than trying to win the game. What a diddy.

It's available in the UK and beyond tonight for any far flung Binos. Quite often it can feel like talking into an empty void, so it'll be nice to know there will be a good few folk listening tonight.

Still says on the website only available outside of the UK, can this be ignored? Before I go ahead and tell the Geordie Binos branch that they can stream it tonight.

  6. Same as Jan, I’ll base this off performances against us.

GK - Blair Currie - Stirling Albion

Throwback to the first minute of the season away to Dumbarton, after his absolute howler, I’d be laughing if you’d told me Stirling were on the verge of champions, conceded the least amount of goals, and Currie would go on to be comfortably the best keeper in the league.

RB - Ross McGeachie - Stirling Albion

A simply stunning season from Geeks, in what is his testimonial season. What better way to mark 10 years at the club with a league winners medal.

CB - Gregor Buchanan - Dumbarton

Suppose I should give Dumbarton a bit of credit. Buchanan the stand out in their defence, however the inability to defend corners almost cost him a place in my TOTS.

CB - Paul McLean - Stirling Albion

A majestic season from our captain. Calm and composed under pressure, silky runs forward on the ball, and always good for a goal from a corner.

LB - Cammy Clark - Stirling Albion

Again, best LB in the division. (When he’s not suspended)

RM - Matty Yates - Stenny

Contradicting myself slightly here after saying I’ll bases it off performances against us, as he hasn’t turned up really, but hard to ignore those stats.
(Honourable mention for RM - Chris Johnston - Annan)

CM - Nathaniel Wedderburn - Stenny

We’ve taken 12 points off Stenny this season, but have always been mildly impressed by the big man. I presume Stenny will be happy to have tied him down for next season.

CM - Dom Docherty - Annan

Maybe slightly bias as I quite liked Dom when he was the Binos. But he’s seemed to have kicked on well at Annan over the past couple of seasons.

(Honourable mention for CM. If Ross Davidson had been fit at the start of the season, I’d be throwing him in. Gets a bit of stick from some Albion fans, but he’s class. Glad to have him signed up for League 1 next season.)

LM - Charlie Reily - Albion Rovers

Diamond in the rough. Interesting to see who he signs for in the summer. Quality player. (Honourable mention for LM - super Kai Fotheringham. No explanation needed.

ST - Tommy Goss - Annan

Superb season from the big man. Another one where it’ll be interesting to see if he can make the step up to League 1. Possibly with Annan through the PO’s.

ST - Dale Carrick - Stirling Albion

Player of the season. Not just for club, but for the entire league. Mad to think our last gaffer tried to play him on the wing. Unreal work rate, incredible finisher. One more goal tomorrow night to seal top spot please sir. 🏆

Depends on context. Like I say, standard event management would be to issue a voucher. At the end of the day though, if someone kicks up enough fuss then it will end up being easier to just refund them than get into a rammy with them, even if it comes from the pocket of the person dealing with it!

If on the other hand there was two different queues dealing with it differently that's clearly horrific organisation.

There is no easy way to handle such instances though (and this one didn't even start which presumably means there were both people inside and outside the ground (who hadn't actually paid) complaining. I can't think we've ever had a game we let people in the ground at that then didn't start. Not in the last two decades anyway. Technically if a game gets to half time there is no entitlement to refunds at all and 3 of the 4 games I can think of us having abandoned did get to half time. At a couple of Ross County games abandoned due to floodlight failures with less than 20 mins to go we gave no refunds but offered reduced pricing on the rearrangements. When Dundee United were at Palmerston and the referee abandoned at half time having decided the pitch was frozen we again did no refunds but ran the rearranged game at £5 for everyone. Because it was a half time abandonment though we had time to organise and make decisions in consultation with the Dundee United Chairman who was there (Stephen Thomson at the time) before making an announcement.

The one time we had a first half abandonment (high winds after 20 mins v Falkirk) was an absolute debacle as the referee in that case gave absolutely no heads up or indication in advance he was going to abandon (and it wasn't noticeably any worse than it was at kick off). Nor did he take them off for a time to see if it calmed down or make a decision, he just blew his whistle and declared it abandoned. As a result absolutely nobody was ready for it and by the time vouchers were got from the cupboards, stewards had opened the gates and half the crowd had left, especially at the far side of the ground as it took 10 minutes to find the stuff and get people over to the far side with them. Vouchers were given out arbitrarily, including a bundle being handed to organisers of Falkirk buses. There's absolutely no doubt many people left the ground without getting a voucher, and many left with multiple numbers of them. We did honour refunds in subsequent days for anyone who had a voucher and said they couldn't make the rearranged game (no other reasonable option) and we took the vouchers at turnstiles for the rearrangement. I think we also reduced prices in recognition that there were likely people who had paid first time and not got a voucher. It was a costly exercise with a big away support involved.

We should get a result against Elgin tomorrow but Forfar on Saturday will be difficult. They need to secure a playoff place.

I think we might reasonably assume that we'll deliver our end of the bargain. The bigger question is whether Stirling can go up to Forfar and win.

It’s East Fife at home for us on Saturday. Already played Forfar twice away this season.

Get that utter clownshoes of a groundsman in the bin, he only got the job as he was Steele's pal. I've never seen a more disinterested looking employee on matchdays.

Dumbarton Rock would have been down there all day getting that park playable for tonight.
