Very much still a cash culture. German pal was over and was quite shocked at me using contactless for train tickets etc. Think a lot of it is down to... ahem....recent German history and and an unwillingness to create an audit trail.

Just before lockdown started, I took £100 out of the Cashline. Up till last week, I still had some of the notes in my wallet. Only regular cash usage has been the couple of quid tip to Just Eat drivers. Yes I'm a fat bassa. Ordering by app in a pub and having a pint of T delivered to your table is a revelation. However, I can see how folk easily lose track of their spending rather than limiting it to what cash they have taken out.

I might be wildly exaggerating but I don't recall us in re-signing quite so much of a previous season's squad in the one year contract era. It's usually an annual merry-go-round. A reflection of the way the club approached things during lock down perhaps? Or am I just over egging it and folk are taking any contact offered in these trying financial times. A positive start nonetheless.

It's more the traceabilty aspect I'd read. No idea will be fool proof though.

My personal view is that the main goal remains a school return. If that goes smoothly enough without too much of a spike then I'd expect everything else to follow suit pretty quickly. Even if it is just limited gym slots pre booked and season ticket holders only at games initially.

First haircut yesterday - Barber had visor on. Disposable gown and hand sanitiser when you got in chair. She sprayed the whole chair etc with Dettol between clients. First pint today. Ark in Glasgow. Had to give name and email on entry. Half the tables removed and ordered via App. Tape on floor for route to toilets and sanitizer stations at bar. Surprised how quiet it was but I guess tmw and Sat will be the acid test. Both situations weird but hardly a chore if it continues to see us back to some sort of normality.

At those prices, I can only presume the kegs are 9 minutes from going out of date and have been bought by 'Spoons for 7 & sixpence and some magic beans.

Haircut at 4pm. Genuinely looking forward to it more than my first pub visit. I've tired of looking like a brunette Michael Fabricant.
