    Struggling badly unfortunately

And it seems the manager has been led up the garden path , as soon as symie was sold their social media said it would go to strengthen the team , all the manager has done since is bring in young boys who are nowhere near ready for this type of football and if he’s got money to spend and that’s what he’s doing then he isn’t up for the job unfortunately

Mick's a good young manager just took the wrong option in going to a basket case of a club.

Should have took an interest in clubs up his way prime example KRR or waited for an opportunity instead of diving into this shitshow.

I think he probably he is and doesn’t need me to tell him what’s needed but I just wonder how much of the 18k we got for Syme he has been given for new players , according to club social media he was getting it to strengthen the squad , as of yet we have brought no one in 🤷‍♂️

Not that I'm losing sleep over I but I'm genuinely surprised at Darvel being where they are right now.

Are they a better side than the start suggests or are they going to be in the relegation fight?

Shanner as it stands with no new signings that team won’t be in a relegation fight , they are going down

Coaching badges and only played amateur.  No Knowledge of the level.  I think he’s out his depth.

Zero responsibility from him or Broadfoot.  I think you have to question their morals as well.  There was a lot went on behind the scenes that Ashfield never knew about and McInally wasn’t meant to know about.

He must be surely trying to sign 2 central defenders or he is out of his depth but the guy might be trying to and hitting a brick wall ,  word doesn’t take long to get around as players talk and when u lose 14 players from last season its plain to see  it’s no a bed of roses doon the brae , that team have no chance of staying up even this early on in the season unfortunately

Oliver is out his depth here.

Just watched his interview, Lose 3 games and the excuses around losing players and other teams budgets come out again. Absolute no responsibility taken, his recruitment has not been good enough.

What I didn’t get was him and his back room team having a Blether for a good 5 minutes at half time after getting a complete doing in the first half whilst the players were in dressing room

  6. Another shambolic performance and luckily only lost 4-1 , Troon were impressive and if it hadn’t been for them taking foot of the pedal im No sure how many it would have been , if we don’t sign central defenders and quickly the season will be over before it gets going

He’s very small, Luke Scullion but he’s a really talented young goalkeeper.

He will need to be being that size , in fact I can’t believe with the money the burgh have spent that they haven’t went for a keeper with a bit of presence about them but I said that about the goalie and he wasn’t a bad signing by Walter

Oh yes that WAS a red card!

The disallowed goal was an unusually good decision, I assume as spotted by the linesman.  Shirt pulling was present!

Good game last night, I enjoyed it.

Other than Lafferty, all players get pass marks for me except for Jordan Moore, he seems unable to win a header and the ball doesn't stick to him at all.  That could be a real problem going forward.  Big Kyle didn't last long but in  short space of time he twice got the ball down in a forward area and laid it off, something Jordan failed to do in the preceding 70 or so minutes.

And that is Jordan in a nutshell , it won’t change

  9. A game we were in control off until a goal keeping error which is unlike big Andy but after that Glens were better team and looked the team that would get the winner which they did , huge game for us on Saturday and it’s a must 3 points even this early as gartcairn and Clydebank to follow after it , we need players in and quickly

I know it was tongue in cheek but it is a very valid point. It has become more the norm now for players to be on over £200 per week, when previously it would have been one or two premier teams paying that kind of money. We are actually better talking about the teams that don't have big budgets rather those that do!

Arne at largs has done an amazing job and I’m pretty sure no one will be on £200pw down there

  11. Very even first 20 minutes today but after that only one team in it , I’d say they had 3 gilt edged chances and we could have nicked one when the young keeper spilled a free kick and Declan might have done better but we  are a long way away ,second half no at the races

How's the Darvel squad looking for new season? Has there been a lot of changes with new management etc?

Fabi nearly every established player has left from the squad that won the double , I don’t remember that happening anywhere else in the junior game ever , signed a few from Ashfield and benburb , mcglinchy from the burgh on loan for the season but as I’ve said previously I’d take 5th bottom right now , it’s going to be a long season

Darvel fans, brace yourself for a cringe fest on the new podcast. Especially from the match secretary.

Aye a hard listen , he should concentrate on knowing a wee bit about the club and having a minutes silence or applause for Jamesie KIrkland , a manager who was  at the club for a few years and who everyone knew in the game .

this season is going to be very interesting , I think we might just stay up but it’s going to be a struggle with that squad when we have injuries and suspensions,

Hard start at beechwood this Saturday but the 2 games after that are more important , we need to take points from the glens and Troon as these team should be around us in the table this season

Darvel charging full price for a friendly and justifying it by it is getting split with the u20s.

Surely for all the fans that are realistically going to go go £5/£3 and have a nucket collection. seems false economy, Putting price up resulting in less people going.

I heard their friendly at Maybole had under 30 people there between the two sides which included Darvel committee members.

What is the latest with the pitch has the issues been resolved?

Going by what I’m being told the new machine is totally useless as a previous poster already wrote  , doesn’t go down far enough to do any good and all grass getting sued surprise surprise , common theme occurring here at the club ,  so any time it rains this season game will be off , squad is paper thin also and with only under 20’s as back up it’s going to be a long season as none of them Are good enough to play in this league week in week out , hopefully im wrong however only time will tell

    Top 6

    Beith

    St Cadocs

    Auchinleck Talbot

    Johnstone Burgh

    Clydebank

    Pollok

I think will be at least 8 teams (these 6 plus Cumnock & Darvel) with a genuine goal of winning the league.

    Bottom 4

    Drumchapel

    Glenafton

    Shotts

    Benburb

Bottom 4 just going off last season & players leaving especially for Benburb. I could see Hurlford getting dragged into a relegation battle this season but should have enough to stay out bottom 3...

Darvel have zero chance of winning the league , our first 11 won’t be too bad but any injuries and suspensions and it’s  mainly under 20’s and they might be good players but nowhere near the standard required for this league but I agree Cumnock could be dark horses

for me burgh will win it

relegation - benburb shotts and I’ve a feeling we could go down , hopefully I’m wrong

Jim, have you perused Darvel’s opening fixtures. Same could be said for you. It could be said for any team in the division this season, the most competitive ever by the looks of it. Good luck everyone.

If we finish 4th bottom this season I  will be delighted
