  1. The discussion they were having was a comparison of this season's squad with last season's squad. In that regard it is entirely fair to compare Holt and Marshall as they play(ed) in the same position. It is possible to say that Marshall is not as good as Holt without denigrating Marshall, just as it is possible to say Conroy is not as good Messi without denigrating Conroy. I think you have misinterpreted Mr X's comment, though I (and everyone else I am sure) saw that coming.

i will read this again in the morning but thanks for now
  2. But he's not as good as Holt, which is the point being made. What part of that do you believe is wrong?

its pretty unfair to even compare him with holt. The lad has hardly put a foot wrong since he came in.in fact he's been close to MOM in 2 of the games so far. But if left back is our weakest position this season.... Bring it
  3. Didn't do much wrong. From what I heard the gaffer was more than pleased with jakes debut, kept the ball well without being spectacular which I don't really think anyone expected. But I see him as a good option in the middle of the park, against Killie in his short spell on park he showed some great touches. Done well down at Annan also.

backing yer mate up are ye.....
  4. In fact only Reilly made his first team debut at a younger age than either Pickard or Smith and he only played about 15 minutes until he was older than they are now. Pickard has made his first start at a younger age than all bar Durnan, who did it two divisions lower during a loan spell. Smith still has five months to get his first start in at a younger level than either Reilly or Holt managed. McShane did make his debut at 18 years and 81 days though. Smith is already a couple of weeks older than that. Smith played 90mins against Livi in the last league game of last season

  5. Dean Smith has turned down an offer from QoS looks like he will be going part time elsewhere, have watched the lad play and think to further his career a move away to a lower league team & a better chance of first team football will help his career, good luck Dean.

Dean is a sound player who on his day can ghost past players fun,he's also got an eye for goal, didn't quite show what he's capable of when he played for the first team unfortunately. I'd think Eddie Warwick would have happy to keep him for another year..good luck in the future to the boy
