  1. Just back from the hardest 50 miles I've ever done on a bike

We got caught in a blizzard out near Thornhilll and got absolutely soaked and frozen

I also managed to get a puncture which took about 25 minutes to change as my hands had gone numb

Not an enjoyable day in the bike

    ^^

Proof that what goes around comes around.

  2. Labour for indy Christmas message.
    Dear friends and comrades,

As 2013 draws to a close and the magical number of 2014 emerges, the political season and even the independence campaign draws to a short break. It would be remiss of me not to reflect on 2013 and how Labour for Independence has progressed throughout the year.

In this past year we have continued to spread our message, supporting what independence can bring to Scotland to our wide Labour movement. Let me begin with an admission, that since our headline making policy conference and subsequent fall out, we have been rather invisible in the press. This is of course disappointing as we wish to send our message out the length and breadth of Scotland. We will endeavour in the New Year to correct this, making the wider Labour movement more aware of our campaign.

In spite of the media our message has reached further throughout the year through our efforts in grass roots campaigning. My colleagues and myself have spoken at events throughout the country, in addition to this we have produced and delivered over 300,000 leaflets. Our aim is to at least double this figure by September 18th next year.

This year also saw the departure of our Deputy Leader Steven Syme, due to living in England he felt he could no longer do the role justice. Such a selfless decision epitomises Steven's attitude that the campaign is bigger than personal position. Since this time Steve has continued to help out as much as he can, particularly in the digital media front. We were delighted that Debbie Waters was elected by our members to the position of Deputy. She has already shown great drive and commitment to the cause. Also having the leadership balanced on both the East and West Coast of the Central Belt will allow us to enhance our position in the whole area.

Throughout the year we have continued to build our relationships with other members of the Yes campaign, in particular the SSP and the Common Weal group. We will continue to build these relationships as well as develop new ones within the trade unions and the wider Labour movement. In addition to this we continue to debate the issues in our personal CLPs, with an open offer to debate at any Labour Party meetings or events.

While we consider 2013 to have been a success for our organisation, we realise that we still have a great deal more to do. In early January we plan to make two big announcements that will bring our message to the forefront of the referendum campaign. We will continue to promote the values of real Labour and how the can be achieved in an independent Scotland. We will continue to promote the benefits independence can bring to everyone in Scotland not just those that can afford it.

Of course this can only happen through your support. As a publicly funded organisation we rely on the kind donations of our supporters. We hope you will consider supporting our organisation to increase our ability for success in 2014.

In the meantime I'd like to wish all of our members, supporters, and friends, a very enjoyable festive period and look forward to a prosperous New Year.

    Allan Grogan
    Leader, Labour for Independence.

  4. Hi there WingsoverPerthshire here, I've got two quick questions.

Question 1. I'm going to book a short trip to Copenhagen Feb 13th-17th. Has anyone forum user been? If so, where would you recommend staying and eating?

Question 2. What's the best comparison website to use? Alpharooms.com looks to be the cheapest from what I can gather.

    End of questions.

  5. Thank god, I've literally been cringing at every single post he's been making about this silly wee lassie but haven't said anything as folk will just jump all over it.

Get out and pump everything you can, it's absolutely ridiculous getting this hung up on a bird FFS, you'll have countless relationships/flings/flashes in the pan and you'll look back at this and wonder what on earth you were thinking.

    :lol::lol::lol:

  6. Just home after playing 5 a side in the fucking rain with some of my mates from Training.

The laddie i have had go at on this thread was playing with us too and my ex turned up. She practicality ignored me and was all over this laddie. I did feel a bit awkward watching them that i had to look the other way everytime they were all over each other. They weren't kissing or anything like that.

I still reckon they are going out but she had a go at me a few weeks ago for asking her if she cheated on me

Even my mate said after the game walking home in the pishing rain said it is noticeable they are going out. There's a spark there between them. My mate said when me and her were dating we were perfect for each other but as soon as she started speaking to this laddie when we were dating. She's was a bit funny with me :(

Fair enough i have moved on but i did feel a bit awkward today watching them

Gonna delete her number, delete her on facebook and she's getting unfollowed on twitter. :thumsup2

chuck her details on here mate.

  7. I thought it was agreed upon that their methodology is flawed?

Well the SNP/Panelbase poll was certainly flawed. I believe it was conducted near enough in it's entirety in Dundee. Na, I trust them as their results are the closest to the private polling we've been collecting.

  8. After spending the last 3/4 weeks doing feck all, I've decided i want to do some cardio. It was putting me off for ages because of the weather and lack of daylight.

Questions is, What would you recommend? Going for a run early in the morning before work, or waiting until after work (around 6.30pm)

Early morning run after a carbless evening and you will be burning fat quick. I also suggest that you never cycle as you're a good poster and I wouldn't want you dead.

  9. Copy pasting this from "The away end" website that ran a poll.

Our poll saw a slight lead for Yes, out of 538 people who chose to answer the question.

September's referendum: Should Scotland be an independent country?

    Yes: 48%
    No: 39%
    Don't know: 13%

    Selected individual clubs.

    Rangers
    Yes: 15%
    No: 79%
    Dk: 6%

    Celtic
    Yes: 82%
    No: 18%
    Dk: 0%

    Aberdeen

    Yes: 53%
    No: 33%
    Dk: 14%

    Dundee United
    Yes: 50%
    No: 25%
    Dk: 25%
    Hearts

    Yes: 44%
    No: 47%
    Dk: 9%

    Hibernian
    Yes: 67%
    No: 21%
    Dk: 12%

  10. That weighting in the tables does look weird, and seems to have more Labour than SNP voters, while aloting the Tories a larger share of the vote than might otherwise make sense.

    http://www.ipsos-mori.com/Assets/Docs/Scotland/ipsos-mori-scotland-monitor-tables-december-2013.pdf

I'm not really making a comment about the veracity or 'fairness' of the polling, I'm just sad enough to find the methodology interesting.

    ....as am I

    According to the poll:

    307 respondents are voting Labour

    294 SNP

    136 Conservative

    77 Lib dem

    66 other

    ----

    880

    34% Labour

    33% SNP

    15% Tories

    9% Diddies

    7% others

Given that these figures are way out from what is collected in the real world I don't believe the poll.

  11. I'm getting shite returns in the stone bungalow areas and reasonable to jaw dropping in the schemes. I'm arguing, well telling folk to stop wasting time on chasing non existent votes and shore up where we are doing well.

Undecided us still outstripping both, but it's changing slightly to 'we'd like to vote yes, but...'.

Eliminate the 'but' and most folk are happy to say yes.

And I've always said this will be a class war.

I'm sure you agree the IPOS-mori 10% are undecided is absolutely BS then?
