Time to be open with your supporters and members. You should have put it to your members to vote on.

BOness Athletic, what happened last season, leading a poor league 4 leagues below BU, couldn’t get up last year when it was stronger, are you swallowing your own pish?

Big surprise in the starting line up was goalkeeper Ally Adams.  Despite losing 4 goals he actually played well.  He does lots of shouting instructions to the defence which is good to hear.

I prefer Kyle Johnston to Declan Hughes but other than that no complaints from me with the starting line up given player availability.

Adams a good signing, great keeper for this level!

Without trawling through this topic from memory I have not seen any posts critical of Nicky Locke. Had a few injuries but IMO has been a very good player when available. Hope he resigns.

An excellent player who is versatile, best position for me is centre mid, but as you saw the last couple of weeks, not a bad centre half, he’s also not a bad centre forward or winger either!

Spotted it from up in the stand, seen Walker’s reaction lying on the ground. BU should’ve  taken advantage of ES going down to 10 men. Shame they went down to 9 men with little time left to make the two man advantage count.

Was a bit baffled by the lack of tactical changes on Wednesday night. I thought Max should’ve put Walker out to the wing in the second half, pulled Kyle Wilson into centre forward and dropped Flynn back into 10 position behind Wilson.

I didn’t notice it at the time.

BU never took any advantage from the sending off, in fact it was quite the opposite and ES looked more likely to score!

  6. When ES number 8 got second yellow I thought it was a very soft second booking, it’s not until watching the highlights that you see he actually puts his foot into walkers chest when Walker is on the deck, so we’ll spotted the ref!

East of Scotland Football League – Conference X

    Whitburn 2 – 3 Armadale Thistle (HT: 2 – 2)

Central Park, Whitburn, witnessed two fierce local rivals go head-to-head in what proved to be a keenly-fought a top of the table clash.

Whitburn started the brighter team and they carved out the first opportunity of the game as Reece Duncan’s well struck free kick was well saved and held by Conor Shaw at the base of his left hand post.  The reprieve was short lived, however, as Armadale went a goal behind on 15 minutes.  A cross from the right wing evaded Sammy Watson’s effort to clear and fell nicely for Stewart MacDonald to put the Burnie a goal up from close range.  Armadale almost levelled the game a few minutes later when a Robbie Feeney shot rebounded off the post and back into the keeper’s grateful arms.  Armadale were now back in the game and deservedly equalised on the 20 minute mark.  Greg Forrest’s long ball was nicely controlled by Robbie Feeney, who laid it off for Chris “Dougie” Donnelly to fire home.

Whitburn took the lead again from the penalty spot on 35 minutes.  It looked really soft to me but the referee decided that Reece Duncan was hauled down in the box by Sammy Watson.  Duncan took the kick himself and calmly slotted the ball past Conor Shaw in the Armadale goal.  However, Armadale were not behind for long as JJ Henderson’s curling long range effort evaded the Whitburn keeper and found it’s way into the bottom corner of the net.  There was no further scoring in what had proved an absolutely pulsating first half.

Armadale went 3-2 up five minutes into the second half.  Tomas Brady’s excellent through ball took advantage of a high Burnie line and found Robbie Feeney, who beat the offside trap to tuck it past the keeper low into the bottom corner of the net.  Now with their nose in front, Armadale defended manfully, content to soak up pressure and hit on the break.  Whitburn did come close with a looping effort that thankfully just dropped just over the crossbar, but apart from that it was clear that Armadale were well in control of the game and colossal second half performances by Stephen Horn and Sammy Watson in particular, and a late Conor Shaw save, ensured that the points would be coming back up the Tippethill Road.

Man of the Match: JJ Henderson.

Watched the second half and The Dale should have scored three or four in the second half!

A buzz about the Dale just now!

The £750K player is Charlie McCann who was the GersB no 6. If that's a £750K player how much is Michael Gemmell worth !! #Megabucks

I am absolutely shocked at that, Gemmell would be in my side week in week out before their number 6!

  9. Excellent performances all over the park from Boness today, Gemmell, Galbraith, Dev, Skinner, Locke, etc, were all excellent, but take a bow Murray Carstairs, he was absolutely outstanding today, I wonder if he has given Rangers the £750,000 striker Alegria back yet as he kept the Columbian in his back pocket all afternoon. For me Murray was undoubtedly MOTM today.

Just a wee word to praise our matchwinner on Tuesday, Kieran Anderson.  I admit to having been critical of him in the past but his performances since the end of August have been excellent.  With age has come a certain maturity that was not previously evident.  Where before his big fault was being caught off-side, he now enjoys playing with his back to goal and is exceptional in his hold-up play.  Of course he loves nothing more than letting loose at goal and lately his strikes have been top-notch.   Keep it up Kieran, you've stepped up at exactly the right time.

Absolutely spot on, he takes the ball in with his back to goal and I’ve not seen a defender against him this season that he hasn’t had the better of. His physique is deceiving, as he is far fitter than most think or give him credit for.

Fantastic display from him on Tuesday topped with a fabulous strike that turned out to be the match winner.
