  1. On the Morrison Legend topic. Do people genuinely think he has been great for his whole time here?

For me he has been amazing this season and was decent enough last year (seen to remember him going off the boil a bit serving half) but before that was pretty average/disappointing, made what felt like the wrong decision constantly. To be honest if he had went end of last year I don’t think I would have been bothered.

The extension for two years will give us protection if he was poached. If we wanted to tip him out he would be getting what was left on his contract - nothing like it. We will have learned from the arse Holt made of Sheerin I would suggest.

I don’t think it’s that big a deal to be honest. Even if goes tits up next year probably not that expensive to get out of.

Might look a bit silly if we don’t go up this year but that is really unlikely.

Who would you replace him with?

I think if we went up I would give him a year extension ideally. Although that’s probably not an option.

No idea who would replace him. And obviously our record of appointing managers is abysmal.

My worry is just that even if we go up does he have the skills to take us further?

Not saying there is a good solution.

  4. Sounds like I am in the minority here but not on board with a two year extension. Recruitment has been great but still not convinced he is a long term solution. Too limited as a manager which has shown up recently.

I think it’s very unlikely to happen but what happens if we don’t go up. 😂

  5. I am one of the fans not investing.

Was initially really up for fan ownership but the set up we have is not really for me.

If it was similar to Hearts, Motherwell or StMirren where fans actually owned the club I would sign up tomorrow but max 25% shareholding doesn’t really appeal.

Sounds like the FSS is donating around £80k right now. If the other 75% of shareholders chipped in would almost clear deficit.

  6. Bit late to this but just listened to the latest Falkirk Daft podcast.

Apologies if it’s been discussed but what is the point of signing up to FSS if they are going to stop buying shares and just hand the subs to club. Is the whole point of fan ownership not to look to have a model where the fans own club.

Surely better to save up the cash and try and use to buy out the old board.

Although not at the current £2m valuation which is insane for a tier 3 football club with no assets.

What was your form before January like, though?  Looks to me that you had a 10-match purple patch at the beginning of the year, which included a couple of cup matches and a couple of games that could have gone the other way e.g. deflected winner at Kelty in the last minute, Airdrie miss a penalty at 1-1.  There's no logic in taking that snapshot of the season as the base level to judge the rest of it.

FWIW, I thought the most concerning thing for a Falkirk fan about the game at EEP was the acceptance of the situation.  Midway through the 2nd half, we're getting on top but there was no guarantee a goal was coming.  We then get a debatable goal - looked in to me, probably didn't to you lot.  Falkirk players barely complain to the ref, trudge back up the park for kick-off and then barely lay a glove on us for the remaining 25 minutes.

Roles reversed and the likes of Chris Hamilton would have lost his shit - which might or might not have been counter-productive.  We'd also have stuck Todorov and McCann up front towards then end and tried something different.  Probably as much chance of going down 4-0 and ending up with 9 or 10 players as there would have been salvaging a point, but we wouldn't have been wondering what-if.

It's rare to feel comfortable in a derby match, especially one with so much riding on it, but I don't think even the most pessimistic of Pars fans thought Falkirk were coming back once Matty Todd scored the 2nd.

In short, your side play some decent stuff.  Sometimes lack a bit of cutting edge but really lack a couple of leaders to install some character into the team.

I think this is a fair point as we were not really convincing in some of the games we won. But personally at the time was taking that as a positive as not used to us digging out wins. In hindsight maybe we just got a bit of luck.

But we were better in February than November. 🤷‍♂️There has something happened and McGlynn I hope will be pushed to explain that to the Board.

    This is very true.

    Seemed to me;

-the loss to Dunfermline and the Cup run meant the team just switched off. And you can’t really turn form back on.
-other teams worked out how to play us and we never really had an answer to that.

We’ve sacked too many hopeless managers so let’s keep the current hopeless manager. What could possibly go wrong?

    100% this.

What do people expect is going to happen if we keep McGlynn. Is he going to change as a manager.

Only way I would consider keeping him is if I thought he was on the right track and just needed a few tweaks/players.

But IMO he is not and keeping him will just be more of the same next season and the season after.

That’s easy. He leaves or goes upstairs at the end of next season…..champions, promoted or not.

The point I am trying to make is that’s never going to happen.

if he gets us up there is no way he is getting sacked. Most likely will be a couple of years of no progress in Championship. Hopefully avoiding relegation.

  11. Like some others on here I have been reflecting. But have went the other way and even more against keeping McGlynn.

Think there is a chance of him getting us up next season but what happens then? We waste at least a couple of years doing nothing on Championship. Just can’t see the long term future being good with him as manager.

He has shown this season that he is stubborn, can’t change a game and sends out some really dubious lineups.

The way the promising season fell away so dramatically shows that he is easily found out and out thought.

What I do know is we can't afford to get the next one wrong. Regardless of what anyone says, if we see another debacle next season that ends in no promotion, the crowds will dwindle away, and we will be utterly welded to this division. This BoD are fresh in and I have broadly like what they have done, but I don't envy them on the managerial call. Its the biggest one imaginable.

To be fair have we not been saying this for the last few appointments. 😭

I've been at Premier League, Matchplay, Grand Prix and Grand Slam, so essentially all the majors except the World's.

The latter three being the majors were a few years ago now and it was more of a darts crowd and very enjoyable.

The Premier League was full of idiots in general and I think that's where it slowly creeped into all the tournaments due to the exposure of the Premier League. Its now an acceptance that at every event its just full of c***s who couldn't care less about the darts and just want to sing shite football songs for the duration of their evening.

Shame the way it has ended up tbh I doubt I'd ever go back to a live darts tournament. Its not even an English thing even the Premier League here in Glasgow is horrible, Old Firm fans fighting and let's not forget Aidy Lewis among others being hit by coins etc.

    100% agree with this.

Went to the Matchplay in 2004 and it was fantastic, great venue.

Went to Premier League in Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow in the years after and it just wasn’t the same.

Going to try the Matchplay again next year.

Always wanted to go to the UK Open. Is that the one that is now at a Butlins? 😂
