1. Been looking at penalty records:
Lockwood's overall record and he'd scored 27 penalties and missed 1 in his whole career. He then missed 3 on the bounce for us.
Ryan Conroy's record is 16 scored, 1 missed (Neil Parry for Alloa saving it).
Charlie Adam meanwhile has 23 goals from the spot and 6 misses including 2 for us (he also missed against Cove).
Greg Stewart has converted 1 penalty in his career and missed 3.
Gary Harkins converted 15 penalties, missed 3 (not including the friendly miss against Man City of course!)
Finally, Leigh Griffiths has 25 penalty goals to his name but 8 misses.
Bizarre the way that players that are a wizard with the ball at their feet aren't exactly great with penalties. I wonder if Nemsadze would've been good at pens.
And going the other way, Jack Hamilton believe it or not, is considerably poorer than Scott Bain in terms of saving pens over both players career!

2. Whenever I’ve seen Fontaine he looks like Bambi on ice.
He lacks pace, composure, vision and intelligence. He was brought in mid season to tighten up the defence, but we haven’t improved at all, Forster rightly gets criticism,, but Fontaine ponces about the park without a care in the world, and is no better.

3. That’s not true. I have agreed with you regarding Fontaine yet you started out by calling me clueless for saying that once we have a fully fit squad we should revert back to the 4-3-3. You’ve done nothing but attack people who have a different opinion than you from the start.

We’ve definately been better playing a 4-4-2 so it would be complete madness to go back to the 4-3-3, which granted, gave us a good result against Hearts, although it was generally uninspiring in most of the other games.

Adam, McGhee, Anderson, Gowzer, Byrne, etc will all have a part to play for the rest of the season, and will probably be rotated, but IMO we should stick with 4-4-2 for the moment.

The biggest challenge for McPake is working out, how to fit Adam into this formation.
4. I think we’re all missing the point here and it’s turning into a bit of a Fontaine bashing exercise.
I don’t actually disagree with bp33 on the Fontaine front but the way he’s going about his argument is baffling.
I think we’d all agree the our defence is the weakest part of our team but I don’t think Fontaine is solely to blame for that, and like I’ve said earlier he seemed to have been rushed back and wasn’t fully fit.

Before his injury he came in and made a difference to the defence, we were defending better with him in there and he did pop up with a couple (maybe just 1) of goals.

We all have different opinions and that fine, in fact it’s the whole point in these forums, but to come on here calling folk names because they don’t agree with you isn’t going to get you very far.

3 goals, actually. The reason I took that tact, was when you read the shite that’s been posted with regards to Fontaine, ie can’t make a 5 yard pass, you can only assume these folk are totally clueless.

I’ve now proved that the team is better with Fontaine in it, so I’m awaiting the haters responses with interest.
5. I can't argue with you, not because your points are valid but because you are too thick to argue with.
You completely miss the points made, you're arguments for Fontaine being a good player is that he is 'good around the club' which of course has no bearing on his footballing ability and despite having multiple chances to explain why he is, in your opinion, a good player, you have failed to tell us. As you know you have no answer to this, you have had to resort to insults and oddly ask if we all live together.
I'm out.

Don’t really know why I’ve done this, but here goes.

League results when Fontaine has started
Played 13
Won 7
Lost2
Drawn 4

League results when he hasn’t started
Played 9
Won3
Lost 4
Drawn 2

I’ll wait your response with interest.

I’ve told you, why I think he’s a decent player, and it’s not just because he’s good around the club. If you’re too thick to read them, I can’t do anything about that.

To be honest I don’t understand why anyone who professes to support a football, or any other sports team for that matter, would feel the need to pick an individual player, and then go about criticising everything he does, or doesn’t do.

It obviously makes you feel good, and gets you lots of likes from your chums on here, but in my view I would rather we didn’t have so called fans like you, and others who post their bile, and are always finding something to complain about re the club, players etc. It’s Fontaine this week, next week it’ll be someone else.
7. Any evidence of this ?
You have just admitted "in black and white " you follow the poster around, hopefully if you keep this sort of shite to the other forums that would be appreciated.

Follow poster around? Don’t think so, just noticed his user name. Don’t post on any other forum, just read them. The fact that he posts the same nonsence on both sites, stands out.

I’m telling you he’s good around the club, great with young boys, and a real team player, if you don’t want to believe that, it’s up to you.
8. I've never claimed my postings on an Internet forum have any bearing on the club, nor that I was a great supporter. It was you who has bizarrely written these things.
In what way is Fontaine "good around the club"? I mean, are you implying that's why he's kept around the place? Yes, he is good in the air. Sadly, more and more teams are attempting at playing football with their feet. I think that's why it's called foot - ball. Sadly for Liam, it's a big part of his skill set that is lacking nowadays.
I've got no idea why you keep asking about flatmates but no, I don't live with Johnny, Ludo or any other poster on this site. (or any site, for that matter).

Thanks for clarifying. Brilliant, Good night.
9. No, I'm Jesus and he's Pirlo.
How do you know Fontaine is good around the club in that case? You've just made an arse of your own weak argument there chief.
So Fontaine's footballing ability....?

I know for a fact is great around the club, I’ve no idea about the physio, and too be quite honest,I couldn’t give a toss, but I would imagine that he wouldn’t be employed if he wasn’t.

I’ve told you what Fontaine gives, which are facts, you and your chum are just stating opinions, with absolutely no basis, 5 yd passes etc.

Are you the Chief?
10. You should have been around a hell of a lot more over the past decade then, bp33. Maybe if you were we wouldn't have to put up with such players in the squad and be struggling to hold onto a play off spot.
Still, Fontaine is "good around the club".

I’ve put up with an hour of this, 10 years would be a real stretch. Do you think that people like yourself posting on an Internet forum, has any bearing, on the success or failure of a football club.

Fontaine’s definitely scored goals, that’s in black and white, he’s good in the air, you’ve admitted yourself, I know for a fact that he’s great around the club, which if you’ve ever played a team sport, you’ll know is important.

Are you flatmates, I’m going to keep posting until you confirm or deny it.

11. You'll bite??? It was a genuine question.
Scores goals????
Experienced and great about the club???? We should play the physio if that's all it takes.
Please do go on....

When has the physio scored any goals? And are they experienced, and great about the club? I’ve no idea. But can’t see him or her getting a game anytime soon.

Are you Father and Son?

12. Going under the radar here for nigh on 10 years then posting an array of abuse and defending huddies like Fontaine and Ashcroft is a strange hill to die on.

Just pointing out the error of your ways. Huddies, you’re a great supporter, but pretty stereotypical of the Dundee online fan club.

Put me out my misery, are you flatmates?
