  1. Would echo what Kyle said, Coyle was the starting point in our reinvigoration that continues apace. McInnes took it on again and you could argue was more streetwise to get us winning the league. But Coyle really galvanised the place, we played some great football and some of the cup results were a joy. That was quite a while ago though. It's hard to know where he's at now in terms of enthusiasm after a few fairly middling spells at various places. He also maybe left us at the right time, he seemed to have run out of folk to sign, invariably players he'd previously worked with/coached. Kevin James is in the police now so probably unavailable.
  2. So what's the verdict on Denny Johnstone? He looks a bit pish to me. Was actually glad to see Cummins replace him yesterday. Think that says it all really......... Millar on the bench and Muzz not involved at all. Not sure what's happening there.
  3. Lomas won his second game in charge of us against Hibs and followed it up against Hearts. His first game was a draw at Ibrox. If you mean the following season when we finished third then beat Celtic in 6th match as part of five match winning run. That would be 8 if included European games I guess.
  4. Three games in 2006. Coyle must have run out of Airdrie and Falkirk players to sign
  5. Could almost do it just from the John Connolly season
  6. Paston Tait Vata Webb Sweeney Bagan Mahood Paton Hardy McConalogue Lilley
  7. It was Oleg Kuznetzov who Curran performed his hammer throwing actions against. He'd long left the club by the time Rozental just collapsed in a heap with nobody near him.
  8. Yeah very sad to hear this officially confirmed. Don't understand it at all as per previous posts from me and many others. Great servant and another one of the "old guard" away. Think it's a mistake and he still had positive contribution to make. Will be difficult to see him line up against us if comes to that.
  9. A decent footballer rarely needs to tackle, their positional sense and reading of the game can mean it's not required. That's why Millar often intercepts things instead. Paton on the other hand continually gets caught on the wrong side of the ball before forlornly chasing after it and perhaps launching into a "tackle", more likely a foul. You could make a case for Davidson being our best midfielder but Millar is clearly better than anyone else in there. Davidson is also at his most effective alongside Millar. Tackling is of course a great strength of Davidson's but a lot of them are of his own choosing rather than being caught out as such. The two of them offer a good balance.
  10. The Courier has us signing Johnstone before the weekend.
  11. We look very light in central midfield at the moment. Millar frozen out, Davidson due an injury and Paton is Paton. Just leaves Liam Craig really that could play that type of role. Unless Alston or Spoony could adapt. Not convinced.
  12. The way Millar is being treated is pish poor. Really don't understand it on a number of levels. TW has made a rod for his own back with his wanting to strengthen starting eleven comments. Shouldn't have said anything if just going to end up with a squad filler like this.
  13. Very quiet on here. I'm going to have to visit WAP at this rate.
  14. Purely a guess on my part but would fit Kyle's description, for me anyway.
  15. Was worth it though for all the trophies won, European trips and consistently high league finishes.
  16. Does anyone genuinely think there is any chance of MOH coming back? Just can't see it. What's the extent of Easton's injury? That could be another significant problem as Tanser is unlikely to be anything like an adequate replacement. It's also clearly a rushed judgement after two games but Gilchrist doesn't look up to it either, very shakey.
  17. Team lacks quality, needs investment, small club, budget doesn't allow for much, etc
  18. Pretty clear message from him in post match interview there
