Dundee are about to announce a signing.
Martin Woods or Paul Quinn?
Hopefully neither but my money would be on Woods. He’s been training with us.0 -

Going by here and twitter, it's more than 'some' fans who don't want Dodds at Dundee. Surely the board just need to put their foot down in this instance and say it's just not happening. Seems crazy they weren't aware this would be such a big issue.
The fact the board haven't put their foot down and categorically ruled him out makes me think it'll still happen. Nelms is just trying to find the best way to spin it to the fans. Definitely won't go down well at all, and it was all so avoidable had Nelms done any sort of research on McIntyre and Dodds before appointing him.

Bain will contribute to nothing for Celtic other than playing in diddy cup fixtures and getting a few retweets from braindonors who couldn't get to Celtic Park with a sat nav.
Personally, I can't wait for the first game he plays in when he makes a mistake or doesn't come from a cross and gets a bit of heat from his own fans. I'm sure he'll handle it well.
Almost did exactly that in the cup game against St Johnstone. Just lucky the header was off target.1 -
I didn't think we were that bad today. Defence looked much more compact and we were doing well in a good midfield battle.
Still absolutely toothless up front but he's bought himself another game or so IMO.
You’re probably right that he’s bought himself another couple of games but I really don’t see the point in delaying he inevitable now. He’s lost over 50% of his games in charge, shows absolutely no signs of putting together a decent run, and we’ve been toothless upfront his whole time in charge. Board needs to act now and get someone in and give them two weeks to work with the players before the Livi game.6 -
Heads gone or business heads on?
Owners saying he is not making money when he already thought he would be. Not hitting a target like that is when you pull the plug.
Building the Texas thunderdome up campy will earn them money more through housing and commercial than for us.
My other post about the United consortium keep pulling back. Honestly In the grand scheme of things it's not too far fetched.
Yes the current crop won't be happy but it will be for the folks with kids who want to take them to the football.
In future generations it would be a gold mine. The yanks care about two things. Oil and money.
Last time I checked there is no oil up campy.
I can’t see it. It makes more sense for them to offer the stadium to United too. Having two teams paying rent on the stadium rather than one brings in more money than merging the two clubs.0 -
I heard that Birmingham wanted £3k of his £8k wages paid for a loan deal which is probably out of our budget. This was at the start of the summer though, so maybe their demands have changed.

Hasn't been on the bench?
What was his injury?I don't know exactly, but it's been in the papers, pre-match interviews etc. that he's been injured. He was on the bench on Saturday and that's the first time he's been in the squad since maybe the Stirling game? I'm assuming McCann thought he didn't need to start him but instead introduce him later on in the game to give him game time before Saturday. Are you suggesting something else was going on?
Edit - it was an ankle injury, see link https://www.eveningtelegraph.co.uk/fp/dundee-sweat-over-fitness-of-star-midfielder-glen-kamara-for-aberdeen-clash/

For the record I don't think anyone is sticking up for Mendy either. However we have a had full season of Moussa and he was shite. I'm not expecting any different just like the majority of the support.
Will he score over 10 goals? 5 maybe ?
McCann has shown his hand and it's quite clear after he scored that hatrick against cowdenbeath Moussa was gonna be our goal machine
This just hasn't happened. McCann is keeping faith in him. That miss against Aberdeen where he had silly amount of time to stop the ball then hit it was woeful.
The strike force we have is very poor. Moussa we gave a whole season.
Mendy I won't write off just yet.If he gets between 5 and 10, I'd be happy tbh. Only 5 players scored more than 10 league goals last season. Again, I'm not sticking up for Moussa, I just don't think we can drop him until we have a suitable alternative who can play the target man role (we did have Haber, who we should have kept IMO).

How many unplaced passes did he make?
So how many goals should Moussa be scoring for us ? You are doing a lot of homework on Moussa. Mine is a lot less but factual also
He scored 1 goal from open play last season.
He has so far missed a penalty and on 0 goals.
They are the simple facts but surely the most important facts? He scored 3 goals from open play, 1 against Hearts and 2 against St. Johnstone. I'm not sticking up for him and I don't think he's good enough to be our main striker, but it is noticeable that pretty much all of our attacking play relies on having a target man. Any time we've played without one we've struggled even more because we don't have an out ball. I'm not sure Mendy has the build or presence to play that role but generally, at least before Saturday, Moussa's hold up play has been ok (it was good last season). I honestly think the penalty miss has really affected his confidence which is probably why he was a little bit slack with his passing at the weekend. His two chances were hardly sitters either, I think they've been exaggerated because it was Moussa the chances fell to. Meekings and Mendy's chances were much better chances IMO. He should probably have taken a touch with the first one, and played it across goal for the second one. Mendy missed a bigger sitter last week too (two if you count the one where Samson made a decent save). I don't have the stats but I would imagine Mendy has missed more expected goals (the xG stat gives you a better indication of how good a chance it actually was) than Moussa.

I said something similar last season when Waddell wasn’t getting a game. I said at the time we should have put Waddell up front for his aerial threat, rather than perceverring with Moussa.
Waddell scored twice in the one game in the league and they weren’t penalties. Could you ever imagine imagine Moussa doing the same? No, me neither.
He did against St Johnstone last season.0 -

All excited for tomoro.
No clue what the line up is gonna be. Still looking for players to come in still.
Kamara and caulker seem to still be at the club even though people seem to think 1 of them will still be gone.
Has anyone actually put an offer in for Kamara yet?
3 points to start the season off against potential relegation contenders. No bids for either Kamara or Caulker. Hasn't even been much speculation. The fact the English window closes early gives me more hope of keeping them until January at least, probably the end of the season (although both will then leave for nothing).

IMO it would be a mistake to go with Curran at RB and Kerr at LB. Neither are comfortable in those positions. I fear that will be McCann's selection, though.
If Curran plays it should be RWB in 3-5-2. Don't think he's good enough defensively to be a RB but is good bombing forward.

Lack of width is a worry. With Deacon injured we don’t have another natural wide player in the squad. Gonna be relying on Kerr on his weak side to provide width down the left by the looks of things.

Ralph looks miles off it. Elton wants too much time. Madianga pretty tidy but not as good as Kamara. Mendy has had no service but had a nice flick round the corner.

Is their an app that we have I can have for my calendar on my phone regarding the football fixtures ?
If you're on Twitter, I'm sure Tommy Young put the link up to download the fixtures to the calendar on your phone. I've done it with mine.

We are struggling for 'captains' this season. McCann seems to be rotating it with Moussa, Wighton and Kusunga receiving the armband so far this (pre)season. Kerr and O'Dea seem to have been stripped of the responsibility as even the last few games they featured in last season, neither got a sniff. The right decision at least on Kerr's part for me.
With O'Dea looking like he's been stripped of the responsibility, McGowan and Caulker suffering from off field problems and Meekings selling Herbalife there's no stand out candidates.
2Probably the worst off-field behaviour out of everyone

The first division meetings were always absolutely class, I thought. Dens Park had Swankie scoring a last minute screamer (I think it was last minute anyway) for Dundee, McDiarmid had the "Sheerin Rain Dance".
Heady days.
What a goal that was. McMenamin scoring a header in the last minute at Dens to win 3-2 (I think) was a great game too.

St Johnstone fans are going on about how they'd like to bring Schalk in. I wouldn't mind him up front for us. He's like a better, more efficient Murray.
Always liked him. Knows where the goal is and seems to work hard and have a bit of pace.

Anyone know how the other boy we signed the same day is doing? Daniel Jefferies? He's played in most, if not all, of the 20's games since we signed him I think.

How good was Curran when he came on yesterday? Absolutely superb and played a major part in us pulling that back.
I’d like to see him given a run in the team, either for O’Hara to play through the middle with license to break into the box in the same way, or on the right side of midfield. Seems to have bulked up a bit and has some pace. Really direct too which scares the life out of defenders. O’Hara has been poor for a while too IMO.1 -
Really can't believe we've pulled this off tbh. I know he's had some personal issues recently but still think he would have easily got a bigger club down south. Getting him in on an 18-month deal too is even better.

You can't have more than one over 23 on loan. So you can only have one of Hendry, Allan or Murray on a loan deal.
Hendry is 22 though, so we can have Hendry and Murray (if Hendry signs for Celtic), just not Hendry and Allan (same club) or Allan and Murray (both over 23).

Randy Wolters saying in a Dutch interview which is accompanying the above that he's fallen out with McCann. Is he on a one year deal? If so, wouldn't be surprised to see him bungled out at the start of January.
Even being on a two year deal I think he'll head back to Holland tbh. If he can get a team over there I think we'd be happy to let him go. He's been homesick since he signed.

Don’t think the new boys will be eligible. I’m sure they have to be signed and registered before the original tie. Would rule them both out.
