Surely as chairman if the committee don't give the chairman support the chairman then takes the issue to the supporters to gain support at the agm or even call a egm to gain support not resign without airing the issue to the supporters who may or may not give the chairman the backing..

if you could be bothered, aye I suppose

I've never ever understood why anyone can go from being so involved with one club ( chairman being the highest you can get to ) to then go to another club and switch allegiances??

It's very strange and I really don't get it at all.

I didn’t make the switch as you put it.

I resigned as the Buffs chairman due to lack of support on an issue from the committee.

I was asked to help with some projects at Darvel around ground improvements, something I enjoy doing, so I’m doing that.

I’m glad I’m still in your thoughts ;)

Gall has to be applauded for what he has done re facilities over the last few years the park , lights dressing rooms , home terracing , boundaries etc but what I can’t get is all this money spent to have a one off game ,

the work that has been done to try and get 4000 in is all good and well when imo I don’t think there was any chance of 4000 in however the question id ask is will it ever be used again and will it be value for money ?
certainly if darvel stay in same league it won’t be needed

if they win the league and go to the good old L L certainly won’t be used

league 2 it won’t be used

league 1 it won’t be used

    championship it won’t be used

so unless we get lucky in cup runs I just don’t get it I really don’t

i think the only thing the wee park needed was away turnstiles and an away enclosure & then it would have been one of the best set ups in west of Scotland

The work was required to keep the ground open and usable, the original plan would have closed 50% of the ground for this match, which would have then been the SFA requirement going forward due to grass surface, this would have been difficult to steward on a match day.

This work was already planned for the summer just brought forward for the cup match.

the works been completed on time and under budget to a higher spec than originally set out.

What's your thoughts on the initial darvel capacity being 2250 yet polloks capacity is only 900 now?

Fully understand its not your decision regarding newlandsfield only being 900 but what's your thoughts regarding darvels being 2250 initially and pollok being only 900 when you look at both grounds.  ?

At Darvel 6 new turnstiles have been added and 3 new 4m emergency exit gates, the ground can be evacuated in 7mins

I think that’s the main difference with newlandsfield,

the P&S factor calculation of the ground is actually about 4500, it was lowered to 4000 to be safer on 2 people per sqm rather than 3 or 4.

the barriers are rated at 40 newton per kg, and uprights are spaced at 1.2m rather than 1.5m to increase strength, Aberdeen we’re also offered OXO crush barriers to be hired in.

All the ground works are complete and achieved on schedule and the car park is being tidied up at the moment.

Given Aberdeens current form maybe they’d prefer to play this at another ground as it doesn’t suit them

There nothing wrong with the works done, the safety calculations or the match safety plan.

There are many factors in calculating capacity,  depending on the different factors, and it’s always the lowest factor that matters.

It’s not a case of simply working out how many you can squeeze in.

if it’s quite a specific number it’s likely to be a multiple of the number of entrences/exits/toilets etc.

it’s more about how many you can squeeze out in a hurry

So, in short, your evidence of long term corruption is entirely based on unsubstantiated statements you found on the internet.

Hardly compelling, given you took issue with the guy for having a go at Colin based on exactly the same thing.

What is it I’ve done now?

I didn’t delete minutes of any meetings.

It was quite easy to find the correct information though and every other club had to do likewise. Buffs should have done this themselves. Shouldn't be up to an admin person at SFA to tell hundreds of clubs who has been suspended from last season as they won't know every clubs transfer dealings.

Buffs only asked if any of their current players suspended so likely they only looked at Kilwinning Rangers players and didn't look at all of their new signings. Not up to admin person to do this up to Buffs to do their research. WOSFL were unduly influenced by Colin Boyd on the committee in my opinion.

Contact your club chairman I shared all the information with him

I can only wish I had the influence to overcome an SFA suspension, unfortunately it was an admin error on the club admin system which isn’t great and hasn’t been the first time, this also happened last season with another team, exact same situation, and it’ll probably happen again.

    Good luck with your season

I think it’s decent, no beechwood for me but a cracking venue!! Not sure what the moans are but would imagine some were sad weren’t able to do it with the old mother ground?

Abbey park was our 2nd or 3rd ground. Or current ground is closer to our original ground in Claremont crescent

  9. Once the decision was made by the committee we informed the manager straight away.

I think it would have been disrespectful to Chris for him to find out from someone else while waiting to get to the end of the season. He’s a massive part of our club and history and we’ve always been pretty straight with each other.

The pathway is something to look forward to, especially with the 19s in the Scottish cup final which hopefully signals some decent players coming through.

While it's great that the ground has had the work done I'm wary of the investment being diverted too much from the playing staff for much longer if some of the West sides start getting promoted into the LL. It'll become increasingly difficult to attract decent players with experience if there are a handful of other West teams playing at a higher level scouting for the same type of player.

I still think Talbot will win the league and get promoted which would mean next year's WOS league would be a cracker. It'd be good to be in the mix for that.

The playing staff budget has been the same for the past 4 years, it hasn’t been decreased at all.

A fair summing up FM. I think our inconsistency is due to a lack of any real strength in depth. Our best 11 can give anybody a game - Pollok game proved that - but the quality drops of severely beyond that 11. Our bench most weeks consists of players carrying knocks, unproven youngsters and guys who are miles off the pace at this level. Tommy Sloan regularly picks up 3 points by bringing on real quality second half - and if we want to compete for the league we need a squad of 20 top level players not a dozen.

Wouldn’t we all love Auchinleck’s squad that’s been built over the last 5/6 years. but considering we’ve only had real changing rooms for a couple of seasons, gives a wee bit more time.

“Steady the Buffs” isn’t printed on our kits because we like it, it’s the mantra of the club, one we’ll be sticking to.

Not being in a relegation spot considering the off field improvements we’ve made is something I’m proud of everyone at the club for.

Over the next couple of seasons we can reduce our borrowing and focus on the field, but again that will be done in a Steady, Buffs way, our planned Halo scouting system that will be coming next season should over time give us an advantage.
