On what evidence are Airdrie going to be scrabbling to avoid 9th? Absolute nonsense, you have been in the seaside league for years and you think you will be 3rd or 4th ? We made 4th last year and you think we will drop 5 places? I have missed this big time FFC patter !
We nearly won the league on our first year in the Championship after going up, then came very close to 9th this past season after looking like bankers for automatic relegation for a long time. I think Airdrie will be fine but there are no guarantees in this division.

That team's history. This team is now, happening, invincible and ready to ride this league rotten. Hold on baby, we're coming in dry!
It'll be some laugh when you lose your first game of the season 3-0 to Ayr or something now.

Sorry, they are in a similar boat to Partick with the advantage of being in Scotland’s biggest city.
I'd argue sharing a city with the the two arsecheeks is actually a disadvantage, to be honest. Population means nothing when, like the rest of Scotland, you have generations of folk whose football clubs are determined by success and bigotry, except here it's also combined with ease of access.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it is a carbon copy of Cove’s home kit from last season
Would like to think we'd at least get the latest gear rather than last season's stuff!

If it's anything other than the navy blue template from the latest Adidas catalogue then I'll be amazed, but also hopeful that this means they might give us a proper hooped home top next year:

Replacing Arbroath with Falkirk is an absolute travesty.

And here I was starting to think we were on the verge of behaving like a normal, functioning football club.
What an utterly ridiculous appointment.

Will it be £26 for away fans at Hamilton too behind the goal?

Could hinge on the home/away split. A fun day out to Embra would be good!
It'll be Hibs away, Kelty at home, Peterhead away and Elgin at home.
9/10 points absolutely achievable. Very happy with that!

How does being a football agent in any way qualify someone to take over the role of DOF? Even beyond the Haughey family connection, that is absolutely absurd; I hope the story is utter nonsense as it would be genuinely embarrassing for the club.

Daily Record reporting Stuart McKinstry wanted by Partick, Dunfermline, and Carlisle. We can only hope.
I realise Carlisle isn't quite as far as Leeds, but he apparently didn't enjoy his time down south at all, so I'd imagine he'll end up staying in Scotland one way or another.

Pretty sure Ayr and QP have lost their keepers too so I think we’ve done well to keep him rather then let him go somewhere else in the league while we experiment with loan signings from down south or failed premiership keepers, at a time where we are strong candidates to actually win this league.
We definitely haven't, Callum Ferrie signed a 3 year contract extension in February, and I believe in Ayr's case they chose to release Albinson because Brown didn't rate him.

IMO Davidson is a very average manager and his stint at St Johnstone shows that he wastes money whenever given a budget, 3 year deal on 32+ year old journeymen. He'll probably end up worse than last year.
Fortunately he seems to have learnt from that; had every opportunity to extend Cillian Sheridan who did an incredible job for us last season, but the decision was taken not to based on his age. The longest contract he has given anyone since coming in is 2 years to a 21 year old (and it looks like great business, cause the boy's excellent).

We’re currently getting away with it because it’s not skewing the hugely in our favour. Say we go up and have three home games against the OF, it could equate to as much as £2.5million in gate receipts. Maybe more. That would give us a substantial sporting advantage over every other team around us. The cause of that advantage will have been our inability to build a stadium properly. The question, quite legitimately, will be why should we be benefitting from our own incompetence and should the national association be an accessory to that?
People will argue about us being shafted out of Hampden. True, to a point. However, it was ultimately our naivety that brought us to the position that allowed us to be shafted. This problem is almost guaranteed to become a crisis again.
I can understand why fans of other teams may not be happy about it, but ultimately I don't think it's any different to other clubs in the division not owning their stadium - Livingston, Falkirk, and Hamilton off the top of my head.
At the same time, there's nothing stopping any other club in Scotland from coming to an agreement to play at a much larger home venue and gain the same benefit. This obviously won't happen though as no matter what anyone else claims, it's nowhere near the same as us playing at Hampden given the historical ties.
For what it's worth I hate the idea of being surrounded by thousands of Old Firm fans, and I'd much rather Lesser were actually fit for purpose!

Weekend of August 17/18In previous years being in pot 2 meant an away game vs pots 1 and 4, and home ties against pots 3 and 5, even though they don't publicise that information anyway.
Assuming they stick to the same format it means there's thankfully no risk of having to host the likes to Aberdeen or Hibs at Lesser Hampden, even though that would obviously be hilarious.

It’s almost entirely a vibe for me. I just think they’ll be like the Thistle team who came down and start atrociously before getting their act together a bit later on and being fine. Theres also the ownership stuff hanging over them which could impact them a lot depending on the outcome.
I think that's what it is for most people, which actually makes some sense. Even though I think they'll be top 2/3 a collapse obviously isn't entirely impossible either.

No predictions from me yet but I find it interesting that people have Livingston so far down at this stage; on paper, they've already got the best squad in the league, and I think they'll really go for it this season to avoid any rot setting in. They're obviously not quite at the same level as Dundee United, but it wouldn't shock me if they do really well.
Raith obviously have the financial backing and are unlikely to intentionally vandalise their squad the way our management did, but it's not impossible that they're hit with a hangover like us and Arbroath were after a good season. A couple of solid signings will likely (rightfully) have them favourites to win the league though.
I don't know a whole lot about Falkirk; when we played them in the Challenge Cup last season it was a Robin Veldman special, which simply does not count. Don't think I'd be too surprised to see them scrapping away at either end of the table.
Feeling cautiously optimistic about our own chances though. We have the frame of a very good team at this level in Ferrie, Fox/Wilson, Thomson/Welsh, and Thomas/Paton. A lot will depend on who Davidson brings in to supplement that, as well as whether any offers come in for the guys under contract that the club can't afford to refuse.
Should be a very interesting season.

Apparently he's grown out of that mentality and is turning into a really good player
His record in Ireland even before joining Celtic was fantastic, and when he came here I was genuinely buzzin', but he was hopeless. Maybe you're right though.

My ex army pal goes to watch Shamrock Rovers and reckons Johnny Kenny would be a good loan deal for us. Was on loan to them from Celtic last season. Decent striker apparently.
He was beyond useless for us in the 22/23 season. Lazy, arrogant, and not anywhere good enough to justify it.

Encouraging start, followed by 5 months of absolute torture until Davidson took over. Although I still think we should've won a few more games he ultimately got the job done considering we looked like finishing 10th for a good while.
D overall considering we came into this year off the back of a year where we challenged for the league title, but there's plenty of reason to feel more optimistic about next season.

I've probably missed something so feel free to correct me; there are also a few youth players who have been in and around the first time, but I think this is more or less where we are right now. Stuart McKinstry has also been offered (and allegedly rejected, but no official news) a new contract:
Queen's Park
Goalkeepers:
1. Calum Ferrie (25) - May 2027
21. Jack Wills (21) - May 2026
31. Sam Kane (18) - May 2025
Defenders
3. Joshua Scott (21) - May 2026?
5. Charlie Fox (25) - May 2025
15. Will Tizzard (21) - May 2026
16. Lewis Reid (19) - May 2025
30. Cammy Kerr (28) - May 2025 with an optional 1 year extension
Midfielders
4. Sean Welsh (34) - May 2025
8. Jack Thomson (24) - May 2025
10. Grant Savoury (23) - May 2025
14. Roddy MacGregor (22) - May 2026
20. Jack Turner (21) - May 2026
21. Lennon Connolly (18) - May 2026
23. Louis Longridge (32) - May 2025?
Forwards
11. Dom Thomas (28) - May 2025
17. Zak Rudden (24) - May 2026
18. Liam McLeish (19) - May 2026
19. Josh Hinds (21) - May 2025 with club option to extend for another year

Aye I’d imagine that will be the case. We needed him more than Thistle so would have paid more. I have heard we have had quite a significant increase to the budget so hopefully it’s used wisely.
He's never really shown much other than under Imrie at Morton so it may or may not work out, but I can promise you he'll score at least about 8 against us across the season.

Talk is that Ayr outbid them for Oakley. Certainly going to be a very interesting summer.
I suspect a large part of that is Ayr valuing him as their main man, whereas Thistle would likely have made him an offer in line with his role as backup to Graham.

Genuinely curious about how your board knows what 9 other clubs' budget will be? I know you said it was an estimate, but that sounds more like wild guesswork to me.
