    No worries.

TBH I don't think I've ever used the dampener line before so you may be thinking of someone else?

Shadwell can definitely get on my tits though with his constant negativity. In no way am I saying that we were brilliant but Saturday's performance was at worst 'good' so it would have been nice if he'd acknowledged that but, of course, his default position was the 'Dumbarton are shite', we've played nobody yet' type of narrative. He'll never be satisfied, that's for certain!

I probably am a bit more positive than most about the team and I don't really know why because the ironic thing is that I'm definitely a 'glass half empty type' in life. For example, just yesterday I discovered that the shower had been leaking and that some of the boards beneath are rotten. Now, that probably means that they just need replaced and the shower properly sealed but I've penciled in a week on Thursday to have the house demolished and rebuilt!! :unsure2:

I’m also relatively positive compared to what I was at start of season, down to 3 things I think.

    1) Ruth isn’t hopeless. Don’t think he’s a world beater but he’s now scored a couple of really decent goals for us and his display v Dumbarton was genuinely decent/good.

    2) In Grainger we have at least 1 very competent coach, from what I’m hearing. Compared to M and M, we had none.

    3) Last year, Partick were truly hopeless til about 17 games into the season. There is no formula to win this league imo. I’m absolutely not saying I expect us to dominate like they did, but even a mild upturn in form/performance (I think we may have bottomed out already with those shockers v dumbarton, airdrie etc) would see us challenging in playoff positions.

His pass through to Morrison on the right was a brilliant pass, genuinely didn’t think he had that in his locker. One of the very few times he’s actually completed a forward pass this season but was good to see.

With Krasniqi I thought he looked excellent in his cameo. The big man’s just got something about him, was very good to see him with the ball in the corner just swatting away jobbers left and right until he got fouled.

Krasniqi needs to keep playing solely so I can keep singing Viva Ernaldo Viva Ernaldo Viva Ernaldo.

Young team in fine form yesterday

  3. No more excuses for Sheerin.

Feel like I’ve been relatively light on him, as without Williamson and Morrison we had 2 genuinely good attacking options down one wing replaced with possibly 2 of the worst in the league, in Miller and Mcdaid.

Saturday that should no longer be the case. Anything other than a vastly improved attacking performance and a couple of goals, against a team that hasn’t won since we last played them, will be unacceptable for me.

  4. If Morrison and Williamson are fit I can tell you the lineup now. Sheerin wanted “consistency” and he’s found that in no defeats in 3

                            Martin

    Williamson Hall Dixon Mccann

                Hetherington Telfer

    Morrison       Nesbitt       Mcguffie

                             Ruth

Not a bad 11 on paper, if Telfer gets played beyond the halfway line

At the game I thought that the Alloa player had fouled Hetherington, having seen the highlights though that clearly wasn't the case. I also thought that Durnan's hand was against his body and that the ball possibly hadn't hit it at all. Again though, the highlights show it was a clear handball and the penalty was the correct decision.

Handballs are purely opinions based so we’ll just have to disagree on this one.

Hate when they’re given for these types of handballs. Durnan’s arm, for me, was close to his body, not in an unnatural position and it’s fired at him at pace. Incredibly harsh decision to award a penalty for such a thing.

  6. We are utterly incapable of keeping a clean sheet, and we don’t score many goals or look like scoring many goals, despite the constant softball questions to Sheerin about “oh if we only took as many chances as we create we’d score a bucket full”. A bad combination. Mid table at best for us this season.

See these, I'll only go if X or Y happens - thinking you are some sort moral crusader for the greater good of Falkirk FC - you aren't - you are a glory hunter. Nobody gives a Flying f**k about the board when the team are winning.

Now we are utter gash, its not good form to say, I only support Falkirk when they have a decent team, you have justify it by saying - until the Club  oes  X or Y,  I'm not going back.

    Pitiful behaviour.

Or there is something deep rooted  and bad about your club from owners to directors to  frustrated supporters that creates a darkness where nobody can flourish and those few who do have any success want  to escape as quickly as possible.- no player or agent with any sense would ever want to send a player to Falkirk , unless they are overpaid, and I would suggest they are the wrong player.- or maybe the right one?. Telfer seems to be doing well- hear that he will be at Rovers next year- makes sense- McGinn a football man., descent man, getting the best out of  Connolly , and why would  any descent player  want to stay at Falkirk and listen to the bile of the frustrated fans?

  9. A diversion from the board business, but just noticed Sean Kelly is getting a regular game for Livi in the prem. A player who looked totally devoid of any sort of abilities that would point to him being a premiership footballer when he was with us.

Yet another example that we, for whatever reason, are getting the absolute minimum out of any player we currently get

  10. The second goal yesterday was “sheerin ball” at its best. Seems like a quick goal kick by Martin. Clyde not set so 2 quick passes, a smart turn by one of our players who’s actually capable of that (Telfer, Mcdaid, Mcguffie or Nesbitt) and we’ve played through their lines and they’re on the back foot. Much better and should be what we look at religiously in training and aspire to do again

Not saying Hetherington is good but plenty going to get a shock with Krasniqi the next couple games assuming the next system. Agree with it or not there’s a reason Sheerin said he was miles off the first team.

We don’t have to play him?

Pre match Sheerin said R. Williamson was back in contention. He didn’t even make the bench, but maybe he’ll be fit for next week? If so I’d have him at right back and possibly G. Miller in the only position he should ever have to play for us - CDM. He was excellent there, admittedly about 18 months ago now

Unfamiliar with scouting reports but do they always focus on the opponents' strengths instead of weaknesses?

My thought too. Good example being Leon McCann - he was regularly very good against us and don’t think we once targeted him. Every other team in the league seem to know you can shell balls up to him and he’ll either be 10 yards out of position or will lose the header. We didn’t seem to know that though.

I thought the squad that “finished” 2nd to Raith in 19/20 was decent enough, and was sure to win the league if the league had resumed.

Why did we dismantle this team? It wasnt the fans that made the call.

Yup. Look at the Eleven you can get out of this compared to now. Another fabulous decision to dismantle it
