  1. Pity it couldn't stretch to trying to get Jakubiak on a year's deal. Although I hear he's probably signing at EEP
  2. I must admit I am partial to listening to a bit Cocteau Twins when the mood takes me. Great band
  3. I think any keeper on any given day is capable of playing a blinder. It doesn't necessarily mean they play like that every week. Bullen obviously thinks Mutch is a better keeper than McAdams, we saw Mutch for seasons and tbh he's a competent keeper but that's about it. FWIW I didn't think Hogarth was in great form before he went back to Forest last season but Kinnear was worse. I was surprised we brought Hogarth back and he probably thought he was going to be starting, play well then get a bigger move. If he's not in the team come January he might start questioning why he signed.
  4. I'd have loved to have saw us put ten past you but ultimately three was more than enough. Game was done at half time, I'd also rather keep a clean sheet than go gung ho and risk losing a goal or two to let the opposition back into the game when it's already won, something that haunted us last season and is still a slight achilles heel. Dunfermline won this league last season by being miserly at the back and closing out games when they got a goal or two up and they weren't blowing teams away week in week out. I'd gladly take winning 1 nil every week from now till the end of the season.
  5. Agreed. Had it been the Scottish Cup be tempted to play our strongest side but not for this.
  6. There's a reason Kevin O'Hara hasn't really made the grade, he's one of those players who has ability but can't really be called a youngster anymore. Barring a mini purple patch at Alloa where he scored a few goals he's did nothing at Falkirk, Dunfermline and now he's at you guys. As has been mentioned he might be ok as a squad player but he's most definitely not the main man up front as a lone striker. The guy just isn't a natural finisher and will miss more than he scores.
  7. Yeah was a rumour, I think his situation was very similar to Kennedy's as in they wanted to sell him to get him off the wage bill, he seemed to have a few loans and was talk of him having a bit of an attitude problem. I would doubt we could afford his wages even if we weren't skint. He'll end up down south.
  8. Might have been more than a slight chance if he wasn't currently injured.
  9. Transfer deadline day and probably the first one in a long time where there isn't even a remote chance of us doing anything. Normally you'd be hoping for at least one new face, I seem to recall Houston signing Joe McKee I think very late in the day. Can't see any outgoings unless it's a loan for one of the youngsters.
  10. I wouldn't be surprised if McGinn plays that much football at all for us this season sadly, hopefully his op is a success but you kind of get the feeling that age, injuries to the same knee, ops, might finally catch up. Shame about Miller but as McGlynn says it's not season ending, he'll be a miss though, McKay I'm absolutely not arsed about and Mackie well it's another body I suppose and he should be back first. Glad we finally brought a right back in. Hopefully the boy does well when called upon.
  11. A right back is needed incase Yeats gets injured or suspended. Because the other option is McKay. That should be reason enough. Any way you look at it Mckay is the elephant in the room here, it's just a pity we can't get rid to free up a wage.
  12. I wasn't convinced by Hogarth latterly before he went back to Forest, obviously what was in front of him didn't help and Kinnear was worse. Bit surprised we brought him back but it's clearly been a family thing for Hogarth and thought sign for a year do well get another move. I still would have preferred a more experienced keeper at the end of last season, It didn't happen so we are where we are. I don't see Long getting dropped in his current form unless he gets an injury, suspension or recalled. For me he's a better keeper than Hogarth.
  13. True, I'm probably living in hope rather than expectation that we might get another right back in.
  14. Aye and immediately knew they'd been stung pardon the wasp pun. I doubt they'll be in a hurry to get another player from us as much you'd love to see big bad brad hamper their goal difference.
  15. I'll give you a greenie if and when it happens. Unless Arbroath are paying all his wages then I can't see it. That said it's not that outlandish, Campbell has a few quid banked at Arbroath, if he wants to chuck some of it at McKay for a season then fair do's.
  16. Not sure i'd drop Long based on one mistake and we were cruising at the time. He had a superb double save against Stirling, overall he's been excellent for us, and his distribution is getting better by the game. I think we'll be too strong for Edinburgh even if Miller is injured. 3-0 Falkirk
  17. A deserved point at that and had it not been for Brad McKay and their goal frame getting rattled a few times we would have won.
  18. This is what will kill us. Injuries to key players the quality of replacement isn't there.
  19. That was more straightforward than I thought. Alloa had no answer to us and couldn't cope overall, really should have scored more. Apart from one or two occasions including the goal they never laid a glove on us. Deserved 3 points.
  20. Aye and McKay continuing the trend each time he's on the pitch.
  21. The reason McKay left them was because he wanted to be closer to the central belt, I doubt he'd be in a hurry to go back up to that neck of the woods. He also wasn't a firm favourite with the ICT fans. You'd think he'd want to be playing week in week out but given he's already had two years wages out us he might be happy sitting on the bench till next summer then worry about his next move. It's not as if there's loads of centre halves in front of him. A suspension or injury to Lang or Donaldson or Yeats and he's straight back in. I think most would be glad to see the back of him but I fear we might have to wait till January at least.
  22. Lol a quick Google search says they haven't exactly gotten off to a great start no wins in four games, signed 16 new players, dishing out 3 year deals and ex QoS and Dunfermline player Pybus has been jettisoned for not wanting to play.
  23. Considering Rangers were trying to sell Kennedy and his destination seemed to be America not too long ago I think it's safe to assume that.
