You can see why play-off teams from the Championship don’t get promoted. Watching Ross County dominate spells against Rangers I don’t see how we could live with them.

if last season's Thistle side couldn't get past last years County then its very hard to see this season's Raith, Thistle, or Airdrie getting past this season's County.

  2. Lets be honest, take any type of professional in any industry and a healthy proportion of them will be sick of the job and only doing it for the money. The surprising thing about footballers not liking football all that much is that fans and the media seem to be surprised about it.

The shorts ruin the Italy/Germany kits and, as someone had said on twitter, the Belgium kit has gone full Tintin.

    Its deliberate.

This is the third of these "tribute" kits---the Euro 2016 one was inspired by Belgian cycling, and the 2022 one by Tomorrowland. I like it.

Big fan of how easy keepers can wind up opposition fans by taking ages with goal kicks. Get folk proper seething.

Be lying if i said i didnt find what Dabrowski is doing quite funny. Tam Cerny-esq.

I enjoy it too, although I do always wonder why referees tolerate it. An outfield player blatantly timewasting like that would get booked much, much quicker.

Everton need a season or 5 on the bleachers (The SkyBet). They're painfully shite and their fans all seem like massive whoppers.

They remind me of Hamilton a few years ago. Perennially shite but somehow staying up year after year after year.

  6. The Gary Fraser goal vs Hearts still gives me goosebumps every time I think about it.

Special mention for the O'Donnell one vs Dundee Utd, purely for the disbelief that it actually happened. Loads of jobbing players have scored one-off worldies, but for me there's something really, really special about a team like Thistle playing like Barcelona, even if it only lasted about ten seconds.

    Ipswich have to score.

Mind you, that's what I thought in the first half...

Watched the highlights on the BBC.

Its basically 5.5 minutes of Ipswich missing sitters and 10s of Maidstone putting the ball in the net. Fabulous stuff.

I believe some of the involved have previously been banned but still get it anyway so I’m not sure banning them again will do any good

I don't really see how clubs like Dunfermline are meant to enforce a banning order. If these bams want to get in, they will - unless fans themselves spot them and get them ejected every time. Even that seems a stretch.

Hopefully the police get sufficiently involved. They certainly deserve it.

  9. Watched the latest Mission Impossible.

Utter shite, and I say that as someone that has quite enjoyed the rest of the franchise. Even the (fantastic) stunts can't redeem it. Genuinely baffled by the positive reviews. Too long and just too stupid, even for an MI film.

  10. My current pet hate is "football people" who don't seem to understand that "common sense refereeing" and "we just want consistency from referees" are contradictory.

Here's Dyche mouthing off about the fact that the referee applied a law as written rather than arbitrarily make it up for himself.

"The only thing that worries me about the rules now is the experienced referees used the rules, now everyone says the rule is that and end of story. That is where the rule has to have flexibility."

I'm really fed up of managers whining about "we just want the rules to be applied consistently" then moaning that "the rules are too black and white". No shit Sherlock, that's what you asked for.

  11. Just when I thought I couldn't like Big Ange any more, he absolutely hits this nail on the head as well:

"There will be a forensic study of every decision out there, I think that is the way the game is going and I don't like it. If you look at all that standing around we did today, maybe people enjoy that sort of thing but I'd rather see us playing football...

...You have to accept the referee's decision, that is how I grew up. This constant erosion of the referee's authority is where the game is going to get - they are not going to have any authority. We are going to be under the control of someone with a tv screen a few miles away.

Yep, the bowlers did well today, but their batting is awful. It doesn't help though that the ECB have relegated the domestic 50 over game to a glorified reserve league whilst the stars play an unnecessary tournament in a format that nobody else plays...

Stokes hasn't played a domestic ODI since something like 2016. People will blame the hundred but the problems are rooted deeper than that.
