If the SJFA goes tits up wil the WOSL league favour teams like Darvel Whitletts  etc ahead of the likes of Beith and Hurlford  etc because the expressed interest early?

If Beith and Hurlford express an interest or apply I am sure there will be a rational decision process made to allow them entry.  Given the success the EoS made with the influx of teams to the East and conferencing team I'd expect a similar outcome.

No clubs will be treated greater than another but there will need to be certain standards and requirements met.

Since Creetown recently constructed fencing around their ground, are they intending to apply for licence any time soon?

A wee question for the experts! Has the town of Creetown ever been represented in the Scottish Cup?

I think that is their aim.  Looking at floodlights by all accounts.

Don’t swallow what the EoS are telling you!

Its agreed, ask Ian Maxwell or anyone at the SFA.

Funnily enough, there was a discussion on this on Sunday at Hampden post the Child Wellbeing Meeting (Licensing Requirement).

It was made abundantly clear by the SFA rep that East Juniors will not be joining at the same level as EoS.

  4. The SSFL has the potential for 5 (if Dalbeattie are to be relegated from the LL) Licensed clubs for next season.  If there was to be a WoSFL, surely these clubs currently in the system have 1st refusal to join the new setup, but even at that, is it fair they get to jump from T6 to T5?  I don't believe so.

The whole discussion is fascinating, but rushing it is not going to work!

Correct, there seems to be some misinformation that you need so many things to be licensed.

The requirements are actually very little and easily achieveable for clubs if they want to do it.

There is a lot of hard work to get to the entry level, but with good governance and planning it can be achieved and maintained.

In the eyes of the SFA the NCL is an affiliated 'quasi-senior league', but its champion club is not invited to participate in the Scottish Cup each season.

This is not consistent with the situation in the EoSL and the SoSL, where their respective champion clubs are invited to enter, regardless as to whether or not they hold an SFA licence. As in  more recent years,  the unlicensed 3 SJFA league champions, Junior Cup, and Amateur Cup winners, are also invited to participate.

Current SFA licence holders below Tier 5 :  EoSL 3 clubs,  SoSL 3* clubs,  NCL 1 club,  SJFA 2 clubs,  Amateurs 1 club, who automatically enter the Scottish each season.

I am amazed that the Wigtown demise has not been in the local press or have they not been dealt with yet for their failure to fulfill their league fixtures

There was a South of Scotland meeting this week to discuss and deal with it.

  8. It's quite a disservice to the SoSFL if being honest.  We're hampered by being a small populated area within the 2nd largest county in Scotland.  Ideally, there would be an SOS West League, but even that would bring its issues.  We're also hampered by Newton Stewart and Wigtownshire Rugby Clubs who attract a lot of promising footballers.

I'm sure Wigtown will be back, and many will hope that's the case.

Who knows what the future holds? But, while the pyramid system is a short term success in my eyes, it has plenty of flaws and needs to adapt to the Geography of Scotland and it's inhabitants.  Will it happen. I doubt it.
