David Cox has signed up for a Highland league adventure with us. How did he get on with you guys before the unpleasantness as last season drew to a close?
He did well in the first few games, especially considering he hadn’t played since October. He then got an injury against QP and was just back to fitness and on the bench at Stenny.1 -
Charlie Reilly and Max Wright have both signed with the Rovers.
Really happy with both signings.1 -
So 16 of 18 home games set for Friday nights, but both Rovers fixtures are the odd pair out. Coincidence, or did our board object?
A much simpler explanation than that.
The opening day games can’t be played before the official opening day of the season.
And the other game is Sunday the 2nd of January… so that would mean travelling into Edinburgh for a 7:45 ko on Hogmanay and trying to leave after 10pm on Hogmanay [emoji85]2 -
Is stone out of contract?
Heard he may be university bound don't know if that would allow him to stay at hearts?
Contracted til May 2023, extension was only signed in October last year, so if he’s going to Uni I would imagine it is with the clubs blessing?0 -
My understanding is that lateral flow testing will be adequate this season.

Looks like he played for Rovers season just gone, was he on loan?
Yes. I believe he was.0 -
Jamie McKernan has signed for Albion Rovers from Darvel.

All the best to Brechin City today

Also now add Aldin El-Zubaidi and David Wilson as confirmed signings... and we are not done yet [emoji1360]

There seemed to be a lot of rotation at Stirling last season, all over the park.

Oh and Ryan Stevenson and the return of Declan Byrne... and you guessed it more to come [emoji1360]

You can now add Callum Wilson and Alfie Robinson to that list.... still more to come [emoji1360]

Any word on anyone coming in?
Chris Smith
James McGowan
Jamie Leslie
Lewis Wilson
Kyle Doherty
All confirmed for next season. More to come [emoji1360]0 -
A fairly sizeable contradiction in the Cox interview in the Daily Record today in which he insists fellow AR subs heard the abuse he received from Tiffoney. As compared with statement from the club the other night that no-one knew what had happened, or why he had left the ground and had they known they would have not come out for the second half.
Which was it?
Both!
So, you might not be aware that in these COVID times the players are split across (at Stenny) 3 changing rooms and a shower area, so the first team players didn’t see Coxy come in at half time. The subs who did hear it were out on the park ‘warming up’ or hitting shots at the sub goalie (don’t know didn’t see them). Also not sure the statement you’re referring to was the official statement but rather our media guy who spoke to a couple of the players who were playing and said they had no idea what was said.
So just to clear it up, no contradiction [emoji1360]2 -
If ever the Brechin players were needed to dig their shambolic board out of a hole, it’s over the next fortnight and starting tonight.

I'm sure someone will answer about change of colours but I do remember a tale that Rovers wore an old Man United away kit for a season or two, with their badge sewn over United's- mid-late 70s I think, in the days before grown men obsessed over buying brightly coloured pieces of polyester at a 700% mark up.
On that subject I see Rovers are getting another new kit this season. A pity as I never got around to buying the blue and white checked oddity they had last year which I unaccountably wanted to buy. O well.
I think you will be in luck, I believe the blue kit from last season will still be around [emoji6]1 -
Is there some sort of political statement being made in these prediction threads? [emoji23][emoji23]
In every thread I’ve seen so far games have been left out by a few people, this week it’s Cove’s turn and I think Stenny were missed out in a previous week. [emoji848]
Also BYOS those predictions sound like me on a golf course.... a lot of saying/shouting Fore!!! [emoji85][emoji23]

Still not convinced it was Smith that got the touch to be honest, and he clearly then dives across East’s legs so it’s still a penalty for me. As for at the other end, both players were at it and McGuigan had a hold of Fagan’s shirt first, correct decision for me. The fact that no other player even appealed says everything you need to know about that one.

Will Graham also ex Kilmarnock has signed for Albion Rovers

Smith won the ball and knocked it away. East then went over his arm. You'll see what I am talking about when the highlights go up later
Then I look forward to seeing these highlights!0 -
Well we will have to agree to disagree, the keepers arm comes across the strikers legs, makes no contact with the ball and trips him. It is a penalty all day long.
It’s not the East’s job to avoid Smiths arm if it comes across his path, if Smith is lunging for it it is 100% his job to get the ball before (or better - instead of) the man. He did neither so it has to be a penalty.1 -
In terms of the East booking, Smith went out for the ball and it looked like East tripped over his arm, trying to win the penalty
Spot on, Smith tripped East with his arm as he rounded him. 2 yards out and an open goal, nobody and I mean nobody is diving there.0 -
Don’t know, no complaints about my view of things though [emoji1360]
