yes, I may have suggested it for the sheer patter he'd provide too.

Tommy Wright or Craig Levein for me. They're probably as close to proven at this level as our club could get, and that's what we need right now. Either that or a top *alleged* shagger like Craig Brown or Stephen Craigan

Re-sign Bowman in January, get Craig Brown back as manager and wait for the inevitable SPFL intervention when we're remotely in danger as a club. Let's get this ship shored up.

As do I, when I hear that Lamie's in the team.
Can't blame him for the Hibs result, though, which is a disappointment.
Yes you can. His sheer presence in the stadium knackered the gameplan and unsettled the team.

We call the shots in this jobber league and I think it's high time the other 11 clubs just wake up and accept that.

Up to 5th. Get next seasons European tour thread fired up lads.

I've booked but don't have a ticket. Even if you don't get one I seriously recommend going to one of the fan zones they'll set up. I went to the fan zone in Paris at euro 2016 for the semis and final and the atmosphere was absolutely incredible.

Scotland without John Carver as coach: 22 years without reaching an international tournament.
Scotland a month after hiring John Carver as coach: 90 minutes away from reaching an international tournament, and a 100% record in penalty shootouts.
Coincidence? I think not.

We will get one of the following;
1 Basel (SUI) vs Anorthosis (CYP)
2 Viktoria Plzeň (CZE) / SønderjyskE (DEN)
3 Beşiktaş (TUR) / Rio Ave (POR)0 -
As an aside, how does our progress so far in Europe compare to what you would have expected before the campaign began? Personally I think we've matched my own expectations in reaching QR2, and arguably even surpassed them by getting to QR3. There's some seriously formidable teams in the qualifying round next week (Hapoel, Copenhagen, Steaua Bucharest and even Spurs) so certainly no shame in getting beat by Hapoel, or exiting at that stage.

Aye, he's said that a couple of times and I thought it seemed odd. I take it he's meaning going through to a 3rd tie if the furthest we've got.
Eg: the play-off we beat Llanelli, Flamutari and were put out out by Steau.
This time we'll have went through against Glentoran, Coleraine and get put out by Hapoel.
I thought maybe he was referring to the playoff draw tomorrow, just came out the wrong way.

Arrived in Rome today ahead of the game tomorrow and already seen a lot of Scotland fans around the city, could be a pretty big Scotland support tomorrow. As for the game itself, quite nervous and think there's a real risk of a slip up tomorrow if we don't improve in attack.

Finally got a laptop that can run FM this year so tried the demo out, finished it and downloading the full game just now. Does anyone know the process for carrying over my save from the demo into the full game?

Surely one of our biggest bottle jobs was the League Cup QF v Aberdeen at Fir Park in 2013/14? Celtic got knocked out at home v Morton the night before and I think Rangers were out too. Probably the best chance we ever had to win a cup since we still had a half decent team. Aberdeen got someone sent off after 10 minutes, we dominated for the rest of the game and inevitably lost 2-0 and they went on to win the cup. Still annoyed about that one because it's a perfect summary of the bottle jobs McCall regularly presided over.Easily this.Being papped out the cup to Albion Rovers, the Stjarnan debacle, getting reamed 7-0 live on national telly on the last day of the season at Parkhead, capitulating in the 7-1 at Ibrox, the 7-2 at Pittodrie and McGhee's headsgone, the 5-0 New Year game against Accies...all pretty, pretty shite but ultimately the sort of thing that you can kind of take on the chin and put down to a poor performance and simply not showing up.
McCall sat in front of the media with his side at the top of the league tugging his forelock and kowtowing to a new club playing in the Third Division who had up to that point drawn with Peterhead, Berwick Rangers, Annan Athletic and were beaten by Stirling Albion in their fixture after the cup tie...absolutely f**k that.

A key difference between Cotters team and this one is that Cotters team occasionally had a bit of pragmatism about them. With this one it's either scoring the perfect try or being utterly toothless which isn't a good quality for an international team that should be competing and looking to kick on at this level. Also it turns out that changing coach midway during a world cup cycle when they're building something because you're panicking about losing the "golden boy" coach for a couple of years wasn't such a good idea after all.

Well that's us pumped then, barely had any of the ball since the try and they've got all the momentum and the home crowd. Up the road.

Scotland will play New Zealand over there next summer in what will probably be the last of our summer tests. Hopefully we're now in a position where Southern Hemisphere teams see us as worthwhile opposition to play against on a regular basis each summer.0 -
Block 406 for me, should be a cracker of a game.Over 46,000 sold for today so far. Should break last seasons final attendance record.
Where’s everybody sitting/standing today?
141 for us, taking my Dad and he wanted his season ticket seat. Quite fancied 111 just to give the rail standing a shot.0 -
36000 tickets sold so far for Saturdays final. Hopefully they can break the 40k mark.
Warriors tweeted earlier confirming that 2/3rds of the stadium has been filled so far, I think that means the 40k mark has been broken.0 -
Hope Ulster remembered to bring some lube with them on the flight over because this has been a rough ride.

Glasgow look very focused and driven this year imo. I actually think the defeats to the Kings, Edinburgh and Treviso were possibly the best thing for Glasgow because it kept them grounded and learned from their mistakes of last year rather than discovering them at the business end of the season.

I got £10 tickets for section 406 as well which they were selling as "restricted view". Fairly certain my seats are in front of the big pole in that section anyway so considering the view I'll have, £10 is quite good value. Wasn't sure how long they were selling the cheap ones for so took a risk on them and figured I could get in ahead of the mass of people who'll wait until the playoffs to buy them. (worked really well when I went to Dublin last year expecting us to take care of Scarlets in the semi!)Yeah, I bought some. At a tenner a ticket I figured it was worth a punt! Probably jinxed it.

Finally took the plunge after Glasgows result at the weekend and got tickets for the final at Parkhead. Anyone else bought tickets? Hopefully we make it now and avoid a repeat of last year in Dublin where I think more glasgow fans were in the stadium than scarlets fans.

Wright is, in all seriousness, the sort of manager we should be going for.
