McDaid was mince last night, not sure luck had anything to do with it. Didn't deserve any abuse though.
Didn’t have his best game, the luck was more in reference to the entire night, decision s, lucky bounces etc. But hurling abuse at your own is uncalled for.

Wanted to wait till tonight to post to try digest last night. We actually didn't play that badly so it's frustrating to be 3-1 down. Agree McCowan should start on Saturday as Moff sadly looked jaded.
Didn't think there was much between the two sides last night. ICT just handled the fine margins better than us.
A couple of pieces of poor defending cost us. We had no control over the offside goal but McCall can certainly try tighten up our defending in training this week.
The game could easily swing back in our favour. Its only half time after all. Can see us going up there and winning 2nil on Saturday now and this going the distance.
Hopefully we'll still take a decent support up there. The players need our backing more than ever, so it was disappointing last night to hear a few folk starting to sing "we're fking shite".The mentality of some people in the main stand is shocking, guys giving their al for the team up against players 6 inches plus talker not able to win some headers, Sone of the shouts directed towards McDaid disgusting, didn’t get any luck last night but the players have given so much.

Walsh and Doran both won player of the season awards for us and Doran got in the Championship team of the year so they've hardly been bypassed by our constant stream of long balls.
Maybe it’s just against Ayr they adopt that style of play because of physical dominance. I recognise the fact both are good footballers and have seen them in a few live games.

Glad to see we've gone back to being hammer throwing Highland thugs after a few years of tippy-tappy rubbish.
There is no doubt it’s effective but imo talented ball players like Dorans and Walsh miss out as they are constantly trying to feed off second balls from knockdowns from White.

Ayr up against it at set plays, Inverness land of the giants feeding off second balls of White.

Absolutely there's no such thing as consolidation in this league. Remember earlier in the season when Queen's were touted as the model Championship club, and then there's Falkirk.
As for replacing Shankland what about trying to get Rudden in on loan, he's looked decent from the little I've seen of him.Queens rumoured to be going part time so a few of their players will move on.

Nah, time to rest as many as possible to get the advantage of fresh legs.
Who’d you rest ? Full backs have played every game in that busy period but not sure there is anyone to replace Harvie other than Smith and Geggs struggles with 90 with his calf issues.

Playoff place confirmed, now push hard to get the advantage of finishing 3rd.

I have no reason to doubt that Smith will give his all and the manager will trust him to do so but I’m not buying that any conversation had taken place over penalties !!

SPL or English Championship.
No offence, but moving to another Championship club after being rated the best / one of the best full backs in the division 2 years in a row, would not be in any way advancing his career imho.

No one is bitter. However it’s bizarre when he can play in the Premiership with ease and he chooses to stay in the same division.Suppose it depends what’s on offer for him, Utd probably have better budget than most bottom six spl clubs, he’s still young and learning and had plenty time on his hands to improve and if his aspiration is to go down south then he can do it in a couple of years.

It was reported that he signed a pre-contract with Dundee United. McCall also hinted at it without saying it outright.
He has been offered contracts by loads of clubs. I dont know if he has signed with anyone yet, but it's only a matter of time.
Both players have offers but neither have signed pre contracts yet.

Over the whole season I’ve voted for Doohan poty and Smith ypoty. Shankland has been excellent but not consistent since returning from injury.

Bit of a minter to accuse people of short memories whilst forgetting your player signed a PCA less than two months ago tbf.
Very sharp from someone who should be posting in league 1 banter, did you forget you didn’t get promoted.

Rose has signed for Coventry. Smith is probably going to Dundee Utd. Murdoch might stay, but won’t be short of otters.

Looks like we have too many with an eye on contracts for next season, though ironically Shankland is one of the few still busting a gut for us. Smith, Rose and Murdoch barely broke sweat. Constantly blaming Crawford is a bit of s nonsense. He isn’t a wide midfielder but has had to play there due to a lack of options. Cadden and Miller were brought in to help but have contributed absolutely nothing, pushing us back to McDaid. Miller in particular seems to have genuine pedigree so I can only assume he is giving us Scott McKenna levels of application. Couple all that with the diminishing influence of our experienced players due to injury and general leg weariness and we have a right mess on our hands.
I get the Shankland love but he’s been off since returning from injury! The chances he’s had recently that he’s missed are ones he’d have put away early season. Rose has been a bit off form but to question their effort is a bit out of otter. I would suggest that Smith probably covers more ground that most players week to week. Murdoch works hard and gets moved about the park and never gives up. None of these players have signed contracts with anyone yet.

He's looking for £1600 a week.
He’s not the player he once was and appears a bit injury prone, he’s not shy if he’s still looking for that kind of cash, can’t see many clubs ready to splash out that.

Can’t get excited about Scougall, he’s barely kicked a ball in weeks and will take time if fit to get up to full speed. If it’s Scott Wright then he’s ready to go straight in and provide competition.

I was amazed to see us make a positive start in the highlights. Mcdaid was in behind twice with decent cut backs. I'm not sure how we didn't score, and the game could've been very different.
After that it's comedy capers for 15 minutes but we seemed to respond well.
It looked from the highlights that we were better than our Falkirk/Dunfermline (away)/Talbot days, where we barely threatened.
Was it just one of those nights?
Definitely. Bell and Rose have been excellent in most games but both made glaring errors that lead to goals being gifted to ICT.

There better be some news in the Ayrshire Post this weekend. Ross county and Dundee United have both stengthned significantly and McCall is sitting with his finger up his arse.
And Dundee Utd still trying to get Smith despite Ayr knocking back previous offers

The big question is if there is any money available to strengthen the squad. If not is it better to sell our sought after players and reinvest to have a good go with a few extra players. On current form we will not win the league but I still think we have a really good chance of making the playoffs

The lack of goals is heaping the pressure on Shankland. No rumours of anyone coming in and a real lack of depth in the squad. Little chance of changing fortunes unless we strengthen. Need direct wingers with pace and competition for McDaid as he’s not kicked on since his brilliant game v Utd.
