I never thought I’d say this but we looked miles better with Rudden on the pitch. Maybe his athleticism is what’s needed.
Sad to say but that’s 2 games in the Prem and young Cameron has been bossed off the park.
Mulligan looks fit for purpose though?

Maybe a back 4 with Tiffoney and McCowan both starting.

Mulligan is never a centre midfielder for me. Gives the ball away far too often. His strengths are his pace and dribbling, needs to be playing out wide - RW or bombing on from full back.

  2. Dundee were largely awful and yet could easily have come away with a point there. For some bizarre reason we’re playing a 3 CB formation despite only having one half decent CB at the club. Hopefully we start playing Tiffoney and McCowan high and wide from the start next game.

For all the bravado on here, St Mirren aren’t much cop either.  Probably on a similar level to Motherwell from what I’ve seen so far. A bit more streetwise than us certainly and McMenamin was a handful.

Long season ahead for us if TD continues with this park the bus, conservative 3-5-2 malarky.

  3. We’ll be heading straight back down if Docherty persists with the is ultra conservative style of play.

We’ve got two attacking full backs and two attacking wingers in the squad and yet we’re playing the narrowest formation. Absolute drivel to watch.

The lad Bakayoko has covered about 30m in 135 minutes of football. 6 foot 4 traffic cone.

  4. The gaffer has to take the blame for our 1st round exit there with his extremely negative tactics, at home to lower league  dross. The old Craig Brown strategy of playing as many centre halves as you can should’ve been left in the bin in the 90s.

What’s the point in signing Tiffoney and giving McCown a new deal if we’re going to play an extremely narrow 532.

Should’ve had two wingers on from the start with either two up front or Cameron playing off the striker.

  5. Can't see it happening, he'll have his kids settled at school, think he moved closer to Dundee as well, plus he's built a great side here, and would want to see it through, he'll not be exactly strapped for cash either.

Poisoned chalice that job anyway, he'll be sacked in a few months unless they are in the top 2

  6. Just finished a book called 'Horse's Arse' by Charlie Owen. Described on the front as 'Life on Mars' but harder, turned out to be an excellent read. Basically set in the 70's, it follows the police force of a ficticious suburb of Manchester. The author himself was a chief inspector. It's really witty all the way through. If you've enjoyed stuff like Layer Cake and Porno, you'll probably love this.
