Can someone with more Rugby knowledge than me, explain why it seems Scotland give up more penalties than anyone else, when we have possession at the breakdown.
What do we do differently from everyone else?
Think I counted 5 times we gave away a penalty with the ball, normally in good positions too.0 -

That’s what I was trying to say I’d have to have a look but the Buchs Renton partnership yielded more goals than what Stevie said I’m sure.
Was a two minute look on flash-score and was only looking at the league tbf so you could be right.
Just think it’s like looking bad at an ex n fondly remembering the odd good time n not remembering the 90% of what actually was. There was certainly more than a few frustrated groans (being kind) from the terrace with him.
Also don’t wanna bash him cos he was a good lad and a trier. If he was with us and fit now he still wouldn’t get in my 11 though. 10-15 minutes player at best.1 -
Boys. What are we talking about?
In the 11 games Renton and Buchs started together we won 1 and they scored 5 between them, 2 of which were Liam pens in the only win.
Now I’m not saying they were the only issue, not by a long shot, but the way some are talking like Renton would save us now is simply wrong.
He is better than Carty though but so is Somey so……..0 -

Just wasn’t used properly.
First point is fair he was, but that’s not being mentioned. All the talk is the goals he’s scoring for Tranent and how little goals we’re scoring.

He was a target man striker who almost always had someone playing alongside him. How else was he supposed to be used? He was also shocking at winning headers in forward areas. Really bad. That’s what made his defensive ability’s so surprising.0 -

The man played 11 games before his injury then fall out and scored 2 goals.
His record (according to Wiki) since coming back is 11 goals in 79 games.
He simply wasn’t good or effective in his second spell. It’s amazing what absence does to people’s memory.0 -
Maybe so, but as someone said recently, what is the point of keeping shape when we offer sweet FA upfront. The aim is to score goals. Not look organised and lose. Which is what we are doing most weeks. You don't get bonus points for losing 1-0.
Sammy and Chris cause problems when on and without them we look like a bunch of geriatrics. I am not yet convinced on the ability side either. Sammy only had to scoop the ball in after great work by Ferguson and Chris really should have stroked that chance home, instead he lifted straight into the keeper. However, that may be just down to lack of game time and maybe trying too hard to impress in the short time they are on. Only time will tell on that front.

Just think they’re typical sub players who make a difference against a tired stretch defence. From the start they’ll offer little and be a liability without the ball.

It’s clear to see when they are on that we lost all shape. Could hear McGurn screaming at Sammy to get in.
I know when they were on we created chances but it was all break aways. They’d cost you when the other team have possession. Also not convinced they have any ability. A bit pace and power which caused problems. Sammy’s fresh air and Kris’s 1on1 shows the lack of ability.
You’d maybe get away with one in the team. Maybe. Think they are 20 minutes players. Shoulda been on Tuesday night with 20 to go.
Seen Stenny three times and outside of us, are the worst I’ve seen. Nae idea how they are pushing play-offs. Don’t think McDowall made a save all game.
Woeful basic defending costs points again though. Two boys coulda knocked in the winner.0 -

I have no idea what the penalty was for, I can only guess handball?
Moronic red, nae danger, in their half, just why? Woulda been sore if it did cost us, as we were marginally the better team in a fairly rubbish game.

Pen Shouts.
1. Looked it. The defender hasn’t done much, but Robbie was clever in getting in front, and then across him to the point where the defender had no option but to come through the back of him.
2. Pen actually given. I was surprised, looked to be hammered at him from pretty close. No idea where it actually hit but even if it hit the hand it was harsh.
3. Barge right through Todd. Stonewaller. Shocker it wasn’t given.

I’ve seen the footage of the disallowed goal. Shocking decision. There isn’t even a hint of movement towards the keeper, just stands dead still and nods it in as the keeper tries to punch/flap over him.1 -

Thought it was vital we got 5-6 wins in the first 10 games, as an injury or two to a couple of the key players and we have zero replacements.
That’s not happening.
I fear we’re going to sleepwalk into oblivion under Bollan.
Don’t envy the guys making the decisions, as we’ve all been excited with new managers that blew up massively in our face in the past. Risking anyone else coming in and doing the same would be disastrous for obvious reasons.

Think he could be the difference between struggling and being comfortable. Miller is truly shocking.
Would we ever consider Thomson in a similar to role as Chris Hamilton?
Think they are similar in reading the game, and no doubt Thomson’s best game so far came at CB.

Yesterday was a score differential of 1.0 -
Some WHS fun yesterday. Equalled my second best competition score ever yesterday, with a level par 73.
Yet, due to my best score ever being 20 rounds ago, I actually went up 0.5.0 -
Depends on how much you’re willing to spend, but there are loads of top quality courses. Dundonald, Barassie, Troon, Prestwick, Irvine are all great, but if you’re wanting something a bit cheaper then Lochgreen or Belleisle are both good options.

Yeah the stream has been terrible. Tried all the combinations of player and server. Constantly freezing although I did mange to see the goal.
