  1. Had to score first today and Lewis almost did it , so this was one of those days, or second halves to be more accurate.

I'd like to praise Gabby McGill and Telfer today for giving there all but we definitely let that conceding of the first goal , get to us. As others have noted the weaknesses of our squad was exposed today, when you see who Thistle brought on.

Wee dose of reality today but one of us did say today we could still finish third!

He's off to see the nurse.

  2. I did predict we'd lose today and it turned out that way largely from being unable to take the one really good chance we had in the first half. We all know how important the first goal can be and once Thistle broke through with Fitzpatricks clever run and finish, it looked odds on a Thistle win. Clearly I'm less than impressed with some dodgy defending but credit to Thistle for being clinical, and deserved win as they dominated the second half.

Rhys will need to look at the open nature of our play but the play offs will be quite different ( I hope)

I was nervously looking at the Dunfermline score but it was a relief just to be in the play offs : that's the one plus from today and the overall season.

At least we were not kept back at the end and most of us stayed till then.

  3. Much the better team today and but for some good saves, and Todororov being a bit slow to shoot, we could have relaxed much earlier.

Great shot by Dean and what a birthday present. Thought McGill was excellent the whole game and although they equalised I always felt the better football from us would win out. But I was so relieved to come back so quickly and also thanks to Hemfrey for that last minute save.

Convinced it was a foul and penalty on McGregor but it was a good game to watch despite a pretty duff referee.

On to the Maryhill luvvies. Although a draw guarantees both of us the playoffs wouldn't it just be nice to win there!

  4. Felt we dominated the first half and deserved to get ahead. In some ways the corner kick being windy affected ,changed to a different yet successful chance

It was well rattled home by Dean McMaster for , I think, his first senior goal and birthday delight.

We'd loads of chances but I was relieved at going ahead. Felt that Chalmers did little in that half and was not surprised to see those changes. I'll credit the wind as well for that equaliser, rather than blame anyone. It might have been a concern but getting ahead again so quickly , let me relax a wee bit.

Be interesting to see the Benedictus challenge on highlights and I was howling for a penalty. Maybe the view from behind the goal was clearer but did any Pars fan think it was a foul or a wonderful Tom Forsyth type recovery?

It could have been a draw but for our goalie making a good save, but being nine points clear should surely seal the play off spot.

Now for a wee trip to Maryhill

That’s a tad annoying, much prefer viewing the game from the side of the pitch as opposed to one end behind the goals.

I agree about a side view being better but I can't remember the last time that happened for us at Dunfermline.

It's rainy and windy now but at least it's not Cappielow open " terrace" behind the goal.

  6. Another close encounter of the recent spell between Airdrie and Dunfermline.

Two form teams although I think having the better goal difference leads me to being optimistic.

Think I've predicted a narrow home win but I'd not be fazed with a draw. Just glad we've done well given all the natural concerns at the start of the season.

  7. Will take time to catch up on earlier posts but this late arrival home sees me relaxed at essentially being safe in the Championship, and delighted at the result tonight.

We pressed really well in the first half, scored two excellent goals and stood mainly firm in that dominant Raith spell in second half. I was of course relieved to be helped by the post and by McGregor's goal. Now to keep it going against the lesser Fife team.
